About this ebook

In her debut book "Talitha Cumi," Lady Cecilia recounts a transformative experience when she heard the words, "the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few," during her time in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) while recovering from an induced coma. This profound message became the guiding principle as she navigated her path to a new normal following her discharge from the hospital. Collaborating with her husband, she embarked on establishing a new church in New York however, amidst their efforts, adversities arose, attempting to impede her direct proclamation of the word of God.
In her latest book, "Focused: I Will Not Be Muted," Lady Cecilia delves into the array of challenges she encountered while fervently spreading the gospel. Amidst grappling with spiritual assaults including an unforeseen diagnosis of an incurable ailment, she exhibited remarkable ingenuity in her pursuit of scriptural exploration and study. Despite losing mobility in all her limbs and contending with the constraints of a trachea-related voice inhibition, she demonstrated an unwavering resolve to defy silence. With the aid of a ventilator operating at a respiratory rate of 20 breaths per minute (BPM), she ingeniously communicated her sermon by mouthing her words to her niece who also served as her caregiver. This spoken content was meticulously transcribed, enabling Pastor King to eloquently deliver these messages to the congregation monthly.
Lady Cecilia's steadfast determination to remain focused and unyielding serves as a testament to her unshakable commitment. This unswerving devotion resonates with the scriptural verses, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world" (Matthew 28:19-20, Holy Bible, King James Version, 2011). These verses underscore the divine call for believers to differentiate themselves, to deviate from the paths of the world and contemporary religious institutions, and instead align themselves with the immutable written and living word of God.
We extend a heartfelt invitation for you to engage in a prayerful reading of this book and encourage you to become an integral part of the end-time labor force. In an era where God's call echoes urgently, the abundance of the harvest juxtaposed with the scarcity of laborers is a compelling reminder. Will you heed His summoning?

    Foreword

As a genuine and heartfelt recounting of Lady Cecilia’s life journey, this book is sure to inspire you and ignite a new passion in your heart. When we read about Job and David in the Bible, they seem like figures of the past, and we wonder how such devoted people of Christ would encounter the toughest of life challenges. It’s even more perplexing when we glean that, in spite of it all, David encouraged himself in the Lord while Job sought not to curse God. It’s not an easy position to take, but when we focus and realize that our help comes from God, we receive strength, however little, to carry on with the right attitude. Common questions we ask when going through challenges is "So where is God in all of this? Doesn’t he see what I’m going through, when will he deliver me from this situation? Why me? Why now? Why this long? While these are all logical questions, they do little to relieve one’s anguish and could easily lead one down the path of depression and despair.

What do you do when you finally come to the place where you are living your best life and are suddenly dealt with an unexpected calamity that completely derails you from all the great plans you hold dear? How do you come to terms with the promise in the scripture, Jeremiah 29:11, that says God has a perfect plan for you. Lady Cecilia shows us what this process of trusting and waiting is like. She is transparent about her struggles, resolute in her faith, and unwavering in her decision not to be muted. It’s refreshing and inspiring to read about the global impact the author continues to make from her hospital bed despite not being able to speak or move. This book is about faith, life, resilience, humanity, focus, love, community support, family, and God’s mercy. It also reminds us that no matter who or where we are and what we might be experiencing in life, we can utilize whatever we have to make an impact. It’s a testament that even in our darkest or weakest moments, we can still be a source of strength and light to those around us. This book will challenge you to stay focused and refuse to be muted. Will you accept the challenge? Will you answer the call? Will you stay focused on adversity and refuse to be muted?

    Dr. Mercy Luguterah

    Chapter 1

    The Prophecy

God, who at sundry times and in diverse manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds.

—Hebrew 1:1–2, King James Version (KJV)

My life has settled into a new normal. The familiar routine of waking up to the blaring alarm, sipping on a cup of coffee, and navigating the bustling streets of the Bronx to reach Manhattan’s East or West Side for work is now a distant memory. There are days when I find myself reminiscing about those moments, days when my purpose revolved around caring for patients, a role that I grew fond of and found great joy in. As a psychiatric nurse, I would engage with patients, many of whom were prominent individuals ensnared by the machinations of the adversary. I analyzed them through two lenses: either they were medically unwell or suffering from spiritual attacks. Just as Jesus encountered a man possessed by an unclean spirit in the country of the Gadarenes, there were those who were tormented, driven to commit self-harm, and utterly vulnerable. Jesus’s compassion for this tormented soul led to his liberation from the clutches of darkness: And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains: Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him. And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones (Mark 5:2–5, KJV).

The privilege of providing care to individuals in their most vulnerable state resonates deeply with me. These days, my mornings are dedicated to preparing my children for school. Although I’ve recuperated, my strength is yet to fully return. My hospitalization spanned over forty days, during which I had to relearn the basic act of walking. My journey to recovery was marked by rigorous physical therapy sessions twice a week aimed at rebuilding my strength and endurance. This was the year that the pandemic hit.

In March 2020, the coronavirus, originating in Asia, spread its tendrils across the globe. The ensuing chaos led to lockdowns and stringent social distancing measures to curb the transmission of the coronavirus, which culminated in the COVID-19 pandemic. In-person gatherings were curtailed; and even churches, traditionally essential institutions, were unable to convene physically. The need for the church to remain pertinent and adaptive in challenging times spurred a shift toward virtual platforms. One such initiative was the online service offered by Antioch Assembly; a virtual congregation birthed during the pandemic through the efforts of a close friend of my husband. This virtual assembly facilitated prophetic services, serving as a conduit for receiving divine revelations, wisdom, and knowledge. As John Bevere aptly stated, Personal prophecy has become increasingly popular in recent years. The typical pattern for today’s personal prophecy begins with the prophetic minister’s revelation of a situation or event that has occurred or is now present in the individual’s life. Frequently it tends to be past hurt or rejection. This is usually followed by a declaration of blessings, or the promise of what God is going to do in the future. Not all are alike, but this is a common format (Bevere, 1999).

During this time, I received a divine message, a word from God: There will be a second attack on your life in November 2020, but the enemy has been caged. Ironically, the year 2020, a year that plunged the world into turmoil due to the ravages of the coronavirus, turned out to be a year of blessings for me. Despite the global turmoil, I emerged unscathed, shielded by the hand of the Lord. Throughout 2020, while restricted
