Amazing Grace - Faithful G. Writer

    Introduction

What is grace? Grace is a word that has many meanings and nuances, but in the context of this book, we will use it to mean God’s undeserved kindness and generosity toward sinners. Grace is God’s favor that He freely gives to us, not because of who we are or what we have done, but because of who He is and what He has done. Grace is God’s love that He lavishly pours out on us, not because we are worthy or deserving, but because He is gracious and merciful.

Why is grace an important Christian value? Grace is an important Christian value because it is the foundation and the essence of our salvation and our Christian life. The Bible tells us that we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and rose again for our justification (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 4:25). The Bible also tells us that we are called to live by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, who empowers us to do good works and to bear fruit for His glory (Galatians 2:20; John 15:5).

The Bible is full of examples and teachings that show us the importance of grace. Here are some of them:

In the Old Testament, we see how God chose Abraham and his descendants by His grace, not because they were great or righteous, but because He loved them and made a covenant with them (Genesis 12:1-3; Deuteronomy 7:6-8).

In the New Testament, we see how God sent His Son Jesus Christ by His grace, not because we were good or holy, but because He loved us and gave Himself for us (John 3:16; Galatians 1:4).

In the Gospels, we see how Jesus Christ demonstrated His grace, not by condemning sinners or rejecting outcasts, but by forgiving them and welcoming them (Luke 7:36-50; Mark 2:13-17).

In the Acts, we see how the Holy Spirit poured out His grace, not by limiting it to a few or a select group, but by extending it to all people from every nation and background (Acts 2:1-21; Acts 10:34-48).

In the Epistles, we see how the apostles taught about grace, not by adding works or conditions to it, but by affirming it as a gift and a blessing from God (Romans 11:6; Ephesians 1:3).

In the Revelation, we see how God will consummate His grace, not by abandoning us or judging us harshly, but by saving us and rewarding us with His presence and His glory (Revelation 21:3-4; Revelation 22:12).

These are some of the examples and teachings that show us the importance of grace.

What is the tone of this book? The tone of this book is joyful and grateful. Joyful because we want to celebrate God’s grace and its benefits in our lives. Grateful because we want to appreciate God’s grace and its source in our lives. We want to invite you to join us in this joyful and grateful journey into the world of God’s grace.

What is the purpose of this book? The purpose of this book is to help you receive and reflect God’s grace in your life. We want to help you receive God’s grace by faith in Jesus Christ, who is the embodiment of grace. We want to help you enjoy God’s grace and its benefits in your daily life. We want to help you grow in grace by studying God’s word, praying to God, participating in the church, serving others, and sharing the gospel.

We also want to help you reflect God’s grace to others in your life and relationships. We want to help you express God’s grace by forgiving others, showing kindness, giving generously, etc. We want to help you use your gifts and talents to glorify God and bless others with His grace. We want to help you face the challenges that test your understanding and application of grace with God’s help and by applying biblical principles and strategies.

We hope that this book will inspire you, encourage you, challenge you, and equip you to receive and reflect God’s unmerited favor in your life.

Chapter 1: The Need for Grace

What is grace? Grace is the undeserved and unearned favor of God. Grace is God’s love in action, His kindness and mercy toward us, His willingness to forgive our sins and restore our relationship with Him. Grace is not something we can earn by our good works, our religious rituals, or our moral efforts. Grace is a gift that God freely gives to us because of His love and His purpose for us.

But why do we need grace? The answer is simple:
