Night Tales 3 - Lee Cushing

    The Curse of Huan

Huan was a horror novel author. That day, she invited Jack, her new close friend, to drink milk tea to listen to him tell weird stories. Jack's village was inherently a secluded place and famous for its spiritual stories. Jack very happily began to tell his story because he had a big cup of milk tea.

Let's talk about Jack's village first. It was a small remote village located in the northeast. This place was where Jack used to live all his childhood.

The story began with a small quarrel between two women, Huan and Ming. The girl with short hair, a fierce face was Ming. She believed that Huan deliberately seduced many men in the area while her husband was away on business. But Huan denied it. She said that Ming was deliberately playing bad things to dishonor her.

The more she argued, the more furious Ming began to use offensive words against Huan. Seeing that, Huan's family also advised her to go back, not to pay attention to Ming's words because arguing in the street only made them embarrassed.

Hearing the advice of her family, Huan quickly returned home. But before leaving, Huan cursed that Ming would have to rot her face and die. However, Ming did not care about that.

For some reason, Ming slept very soundly that night and didn't wake up until noon the next day. She also wondered why her husband did not wake her up. Everything in the house was quiet. She walked out the door and didn't see any movement, very confused, so she decided to open the door and go out to see how it was outside.

As soon as she opened the door, a certain liquid stirred from above, causing her to panic. Ming immediately had to scream out of panic. A dead chicken, its head severed, and blood pouring from it was hanging in front of Ming's house. The chicken's head lying in the middle of the blood pool was placed in the middle of the door. The scene was so scary.

However, after regaining her composure, Ming, who had a hot temper, immediately thought that it was because Huan was playing tricks. So she started to stand in front of the house and yelled. But as soon as she spoke, her husband ran up to her from the beginning and stopped her. He told her to be quiet and go into the house.

Ming, of course, refused; she insisted on going to Huan's house to ask for clarification. At this time, seeing that his wife could not be stopped, the husband informed her with bad news. Last night Huan had taken poison to commit suicide because her husband's family suspected her because of Ming's words. They thought that if Huan didn't do anything wrong, why would others say that?

The husband also said that after Huan's death, her family thought that Ming made up the story, so she was humiliated and killed herself like that. This caused trouble for Ming's family. Her husband wanted Ming to stay at home for a while and didn't let them see, or something would happen. The matter was so serious, but Ming still had a bad mouth and doubted Huan's death. She assumed that Huan was making excuses to make things go smoothly. And if Huan was really dead, it had nothing to do with her.

The husband also had no way with his wife, urging her to go back inside to smooth things out. If Huan's family saw her, they'd probably beat her to death.

But in the middle of the night, when her husband was fast asleep, Ming sneaked out. She wanted to see with her own eyes that Huan was dead. She went to Huan's front door and saw her family members wearing mourning and standing at the door.

Still not satisfied, she turned around to the back of the house and saw a large rock placed next to the wall as if calling her to climb. Without hesitation, she climbed up to look inside. After struggling for a long time, she managed to climb to the top.

But it was not known whether by coincidence or instigation, but the place she climbed up at the same time was the place where Huan's coffin and body were located. Due to suicide by drinking pesticides, Huan's face turned black like smoke, looking very unsightly. Huan's body, lying still in the coffin, suddenly moved, her eyes wide and bloodshot, looking at Ming with hatred.

Scared, Ming panicked and fell backward, falling off the big rock. She didn't know where her face had hit, but there was a long cut on her cheek that looked like it was painful. But she didn't have time to care about that; she was scared, so she quickly returned to her home.

But even in the days that followed, she could not sleep well; nightmares kept coming to torment her. She always felt Huan's eyes staring at her. That made her startled awake and scream in panic, causing her husband to panic and wake up as well. She was sweating profusely now, and her face was full of fear. The wound on her face began to bleed again, drenching her entire face.

That made the husband extremely worried because, at first, the wound was just a shallow wound, which stopped the bleeding and healed. He didn't understand why now it was cracked and seemed heavier. But because she thought it was just a small wound, Ming also bandaged it up and resumed normal activities.

But it was not over yet. In the days that followed, even during the day, Ming had to live in fear. Because she always felt that Huan was watching her from afar. Huan's figure kept appearing before her eyes. Sometimes Huan hovered and looked at her over the fence wall with an angry expression as if she wanted to eat Ming alive.

Panicked, Ming threw away the bundle of clothes she was crocheting and ran into the house to hide. That night, Ming could not sleep, tossing and turning because of fear. She glanced around to see if Huan would appear again. But the strange thing was that the wound on her face became more and more itchy and uncomfortable. She unconsciously scratched the wound with her hand, causing her wound to bleed again, drenching the bandage and soaking it all out.

The husband heard his wife's cry and woke up, asking Ming what had happened. She cried and panicked and told her husband that her wound was suddenly so itchy that she couldn't stand it anymore. Seeing that his wife was uncomfortable, the husband also helped her remove the bandage to see the wound inside.

But as soon as he saw it, her husband panicked. Ming's face was disfigured; the wound from the beginning had now begun to seriously ulcerate and rot. Every patch of skin on her cheek was rotting to the point of falling apart. The flesh inside could be seen and even emitting a very foul stench.

From that day on, she started going crazy, always saying she saw Huan looking at her or attacking her. To the point that her family had to lock her in a warehouse because when she went crazy, she would run around screaming and attack others. She also repeatedly knelt begging Huan to spare her life. Even though, in front of her was devoid of any figure. Everyone assumed that she was crazy, so she was paranoid.

One day, her husband brought rice as usual when he found out that she had committed suicide by drinking pesticide. Even her husband didn't know where she ended up getting the potion, but he was sure it was Huan's doing. Because before Ming died, the husband saw Huan. But at that time, he thought it was because he was dizzy.

That night, the husband was sitting in the house. Because he was sad so he drank alone. He then heard his wife's screams coming from the warehouse. Looking in that direction, only a few meters away from the room, he caught a glimpse of a woman's silhouette hovering outside the warehouse window. Wanting to see better, he stood up and opened the window when the figure was gone. At that time, he thought it was because he was looking at it wrong.

Jack drank milk tea while telling the story excitedly. Huan also felt that the story was scary. It was right not to offend anyone, or there would be unexpected consequences. Jack said he still had a lot of good stories, so he would slowly tell Huan later.

    Haunted Room 303

It was a cold and rainy night. A man entered a hotel. When he entered the hotel, he walked up to the lady who worked there and said, Please, I need a room for tonight.

There's only one, said the lady.

That's fine, give it to me, please.

Alright, said the lady, but I have to tell you something. This room is 302, and you'll hear noises from 303, but please don't look through the peephole, and please don't try to enter.

    The confused man nodded.

The man went up to his room, 302, and saw that 303 was a very peculiar door. It was black in color and old-looking. The man entered his room and was very tired, so he quickly fell asleep. But he woke up in the middle of the night because he heard a woman screaming. He got up, left his room, and walked to 303. He could hear the screams of the woman. He remembered what the lady who worked for the hotel had told him, not to do anything with that room. But he was very curious.

He looked through the peephole. It was a very dark room, but in the back of the room, he could see a woman with long, black hair and very pale skin. The man stood up, thinking it was very strange, and then he knocked on the door.

    Ma'am, are you okay?

He looked through the peephole again, but this time he could only see the color red. Everything was red, and he felt a cold touch on his eye. He got up and went back to his room. He didn't hear any more screams throughout the night.

In the morning, the man thanked the lady who worked for the hotel and asked, What's the deal with the woman in room 303?

So, you looked through the peephole, she said.

Well, she's a woman who died in that room three years ago, and she's a ghost. She has very pale skin, but her eyes are very strange. Her eyes are completely red.

    Laila's Tragic Transformation

There is a very happy woman. Her name is Laila. She has two children and a husband. She loves her family very much, especially her husband, who has money and is very handsome. But one day, Laila's world totally changes.

Her husband is not the man she thought he was. Laila's husband likes another woman. Laila cries, she is really sad, sadder than a person can feel. But that is not all. The husband leaves. He doesn't love his family anymore. He prefers his new girlfriend over his own family. The husband never returns and does not help his family anymore.

Laila screams and cries a lot. She cries and cannot stop. She no longer has money, she no longer has a husband, and she does not have much food for her poor children. Laila cannot stop crying. Laila thinks and also cries. She cries and thinks hard. One day, Laila takes her children to a river. Laila looks at her children and looks at the water. Laila pushes her children in the water. (YEET) Laila's children cannot swim.

After a while, Laila notices that her children are dead. 'My children? Where are my children?' Then, at that moment, Laila realizes the terrible thing she has done. Laila jumps into the water. Laila dies... In heaven, angels ask Laila, 'Where are your children?' Laila does not respond. She is not allowed to enter heaven. She has to search for her children forever. That is their punishment.

Then, Laila's devilish ghost returns to the world. And she can't stop crying. Laila becomes La Llorona. La Llorona walks near Mexican rivers at night. She cries loudly and searches for her children. She screams, 'Oh, my children, where are my children?!' If La Llorona sees children at night, she takes them to the river and pushes them into the water until the children die. There are some people who really think that La Llorona exists.

There are people who say they have horrible experiences with her. Whether or not it exists, I don't know. But something we learn from this story is that people are capable of doing really terrible and frightening things when they are sad and angry.

    The Haunting of Hollowville Mansion

Once upon a time, in the small town of Hollowville, there lived a group of friends named Nora, John, and Emily. They were known for their love of adventure and thrill-seeking. One fateful night, they decided to explore the abandoned mansion that stood at the edge of town, rumored to be haunted.

As they approached the dilapidated mansion, the wind howled, and the moonlight cast eerie shadows. Nora's voice quivered as she said, Are you sure about this, guys? It looks so creepy.

John, with a smirk on his face, replied, Oh, come on, Nora! Don't tell me you believe in all those ghost stories.

Emily, trying to sound brave, added, Yeah, it's all just folklore. There's nothing to be afraid of.

Together, they entered the creaking front door of the mansion, their hearts pounding with excitement and fear. The air inside was stale and filled with dust. As they explored the rooms, they noticed strange objects strewn about—a dusty old doll with one eye missing, a broken mirror reflecting twisted images.

Suddenly, they heard a faint whisper that sent shivers down their spines. Geeet oooout, the voice hissed.

Nora's eyes widened with terror. D-did you hear that? I think there's something here!

John, attempting to play it cool, said, Nah, it's just the wind. Let's keep going.

Ignoring Nora's plea to leave, they ventured deeper into the mansion. The temperature dropped, and a chill filled the air. The floorboards creaked with every step they took, echoing ominously through the empty halls.

Then, a flickering light appeared at the end of the corridor. They cautiously approached it, their hearts pounding louder with every step. As they reached the room, they saw an old, dusty candlestick on a table, emitting an eerie glow.

Emily, with a nervous laugh, said, Well, that's not so scary. It's probably just a trick of the light.

But as she spoke, the candlestick floated into the air, casting dancing shadows on the walls. The friends gasped in horror, frozen in their tracks.

A spectral figure materialized before them—a ghostly woman with long, flowing hair and tattered clothing. Her voice echoed through the room. You shouuuuld have l-listened... Now, you'll never leave.

Terrified, Nora stuttered, W-what do you want from us?

The ghostly woman floated closer, her face contorted with anger. Revenge. Revenge for my stolen life.

John, trying to find his courage, shouted, We didn't do anything! We just came here to explore!

The ghostly woman's eyes glowed with an ethereal light. You trespassed into my domain, and now you shall pay.

As the room filled with a bone-chilling cold, the friends huddled together, desperately searching for an escape. But no matter which way they turned, the walls seemed to close in around them.

In a final act of desperation, Nora screamed, Please, we're sorry! Just let us go!

The ghostly woman's form wavered, and a sorrowful expression crossed her face. You... you are truly remorseful?

The friends nodded frantically, tears streaming down their faces.

The ghostly woman's voice softened. Very well. I shall spare you this time. But remember, trespassers, my spirit will forever haunt this mansion. Leave now, and never return.

With those words, the ghostly woman vanished into thin air, leaving the friends trembling in the haunted mansion.

They quickly fled, vowing to never step foot inside the mansion again. As they reached the safety of the town, their bodies still trembling from the encounter, they made a pact to keep their harrowing experience a secret, afraid of being ridiculed or labeled as crazy.

Months passed, and the memory of that terrible night began to fade. The friends tried their best to move on, but the ghostly encounter had left an indelible mark on their lives. Nora, plagued by nightmares, sought solace in books on the supernatural, hoping to find answers or a way to appease the tormented spirit they had encountered.

One evening, as Nora was engrossed in her research, she stumbled upon a forgotten newspaper article from decades ago. It detailed the tragic story of a woman named Amelia Kingsley, who had lived in the mansion. Amelia had been wrongfully accused of a crime she did not commit and was unjustly executed.

Nora's heart sank as she realized the connection. The ghostly woman they encountered was none other than Amelia Kingsley, seeking justice for the life that was stolen from her. Filled with determination, Nora knew she had to right the wrongs of the past.

She gathered her friends and shared the newfound information. John and Emily, initially skeptical, agreed to help Nora seek the truth and bring peace to Amelia's tormented soul.

Together, they embarked on a mission to uncover the evidence that would prove Amelia's innocence and bring her story to light. They delved into archives, spoke to elderly townsfolk, and unearthed forgotten documents, gradually piecing together the truth of the past.

Their efforts paid off when they discovered an old letter hidden away in the attic of the town's historical society. The letter, written by an eyewitness who had seen the real culprit commit the crime, finally provided the evidence they needed.

Filled with hope, they presented their findings to the town's authorities, who reopened the case. The truth was revealed, and Amelia Kingsley's name was cleared posthumously.

With her innocence proven, Amelia's spirit found peace at last. The mansion, no longer haunted by her tormented soul, became a symbol of redemption and justice.

The friends, forever changed by their experiences, became local heroes and advocates for seeking the truth. They formed a group dedicated to investigating unsolved mysteries and aiding restless spirits, ensuring that no one else would suffer the same fate as Amelia.

And so, in their quest for adventure, they stumbled upon a ghostly encounter that initially terrified them. But through their bravery, compassion, and relentless pursuit of the truth, they turned a terrible ghost story into a tale of redemption, friendship, and justice, forever etching their names in the annals of Hollowville's history.

The Mysterious Entity of Miss Claire

I heard the story not long ago, and I remember this is what my aunt, who worked in a nursing home, told me. She told me about a hospital or something like that, like a nursing home, and here it was normal for the elderly to pass away, nothing unusual. At the time of the incident, she had only recently joined the nursing home.

One day, when she was on a shift, she saw a lot of people gathered from afar. Thought they might have been a dispute, so she came to inspect it. Turned out that there was no dispute at all, it was just Miss Nora, an elderly person, who said that she was going to go somewhere really far away. So she insisted that she wanted to give the people all of her things. Her statement made my aunt very curious and wondered where she was going to move to or what had happened to her. Miss Nora didn't say clearly where she was going, but she told my Aunt a strange thing, that she didn't have much time left to live because she had seen Miss Sheng. Miss Nora's words made it very difficult for my aunt to understand, and it seemed that my aunt didn't even know who Miss Sheng just mentioned. So she really wanted to know who this machine was.

But when my aunt wanted to ask for more details, she was dragged away by a former employee. Later, the former employee told her about a rumor related to machine that anyone who saw her would die. When it was dark, a lot of strange things happened in this nursing home. In the corridors, there was often the sound of someone's footsteps, walking very gracefully. In addition, there was the sound of high heels stepping on the ground so Loudly that it almost filled the entire space. At the time, in particular, there was a woman wearing a red Cheongsam, a traditional Chinese dress, which appeared, and they thought this might be the machine everyone was talking about.

Then the Claire went to a viewer. After entering that room, the Claire went to sit next to an old woman and talk to her. The next morning, that old lady would die in that room. So the elderly in the nursing home all believed in the existence of Miss Claire. But when my aunt heard the story, she was confused and didn't know whether to believe if this rumor was true or not. As for the former employee, when she told the story, she also seemed to believe some of these things to be completely true. She told my aunt to be especially careful at night. On the next day, Miss Nora was sick and was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment, but she could not be cured and passed away that night. At first, my aunt thought it was just a coincidence, until one day she had to work the night shift. Their management style was very strict, and at night they usually would turn off the lights, and no one was allowed to move around except if they wanted to go to the bathroom.

It was around 11:45 PM when my aunt was in our office. Then, suddenly out of nowhere, there was a sudden sound of footsteps outside the door, and it came from high heels. The problem was, the elderly people in the nursing home didn't wear high heels, and they were not allowed to wear them. But there was a sound coming from those high heels. Out of curiosity, she got up and went to see who it was. When she was about to reach out to open the door, she suddenly got a little scared, and she remembered the story of Michelle. At that moment, although she didn't believe it to be true, my aunt was still a bit scared to be alone at night like that. After she was mentally prepared, she carefully opened the door gently, but she couldn't believe what she saw. Just as she opened the door, the sound of heels hitting the ground became Louder and clearer. At that time, she slowly poked her head out the door and looked in the direction of the noise. It was unbeliLunable when my aunt saw that there was no sign of anyone at all, and the footsteps became less and less audible. But the interesting thing was that the sound of the heels would turn in another direction. Because she was more curious than usual, she followed the sound of the shoes to see who it was.

As the sound of the high heels became more and more shrill, as if every step that woman took was Louder and stronger, fear grew in my aunt's heart. She became extremely worried. After walking for a while, she turned another corner, but there was no road ahead. At that moment, my aunt thought she would definitely meet this machine. But no, it was completely different from what she expected. She only saw a red patch drifting into a room in the middle of the night. It was completely different from the explanation that the former employee had told her. Immediately, she ran and chased into that room. But when she arrived, there was nothing to see. She looked through the little window above the door. This machine still hadn't appeared, and the people there were sleeping peacefully. At that time, my aunt really didn't know if she had heard it wrongly or looked at it wrong. She also found the story really ridiculous and became more and more worried about whether the rumor was true or not.

The next day, a colleague told my aunt about the trouble going on in the nursing home. There was an old man who said that machine came to see him, and he thought he was going to die. So he refused to get up and eat with everyone. After finishing a few errands in the nursing home, my aunt went to see the old man and talk to him about what had happened. When she found out that the old man's room was the room where the strange footsteps stopped, she was quite amazed. The old man passed away. This made us start to believe that the rumors might be true and that machine could actually exist. For this reason, my aunt went to ask a lot of elderly people in the nursing home what they knew about this machine.

It was quite interesting that these people could describe machine, not only the color of her dress but also her heart. They could tell exactly what she looked like, but each person had a very different description of machine's face. Because my aunt had a background in art, she drew machine very well and beautifully. With a tall and thin figure, hair in a high bun, wearing a red Cheongsam outfit and high heels. But my aunt couldn't draw her face because no one knew what Claire's real face looked like.

    Taboos and Terrifying Encounters

"There were many taboos, as well as scary stories, happening around it. For example, a person doing this job was absolutely not allowed to have sex the night before, not to get married or have children to avoid injury, and not to let blood get on the coffin. The most important taboo was that from the moment the coffin was lifted until the grave was reached, the coffin must not touch the ground, and the person carrying the coffin must not complain or say negative words no matter how tired they were.

Speaking of which, I want to tell you about a true story that happened in my village. That year, a 70-year-old woman died of illness in my village. Her family also held a funeral for her. At the time, the management of funerals was very strict due to concerns about epidemics. The older woman's family hired workers from a nearby mine for the burial, and these people knew absolutely nothing about the burial customs in our village. Taking advantage of the early morning hours, they proceeded
