    Night Riders - Lee Cushing

    CHAPTER ONE

Have you ever wandered into a small town where time seems to slow down, where the scent of fresh morning dew mixes with the whispers of the wind? Welcome to Oakvale, a quaint settlement nestled amidst rolling hills and verdant fields. Its streets are paved with cobblestone while aged houses stand as silent sentinels, bearing the marks of honor and history etched into their weathered façades.

Oakvale is a place where the past intertwines seamlessly with the present, where every cobblestone tells a story and every corner holds a memory. It may seem old-fashioned to some, but to those who call it home, it is a sanctuary of peace and stability, untouched by the chaos of the outside world. Travelers are drawn to Oakvale by its timeless beauty and rich history, eager to immerse themselves in its quiet charm. For years, it has remained a haven of serenity, a refuge from the hustle and bustle of modern life.

The peace of Oakvale had never been disrupted until a particular group of travelers entered the town. They arrived on a breezy afternoon, their presence stirring whispers among the locals as they toured through the cobblestone streets and historic landmarks. The travelers seemed amiable enough, exchanging pleasantries with the townsfolk and expressing admiration for Oakvale's quaint beauty.

As the day waned, the travelers made their way to the town's Mayor, seeking permission to extend their stay. With smiles and delight, they greeted the mayor, who returned their warmth with equal hospitality.

Good evening, Sir, their leader addressed the mayor.

It's a pleasure to have you grace our streets with your presence, replied the mayor warmly. Whether you're here for a brief stop or planning to tarry a while, know that you're among friends. Feel free to explore our quaint corners, savor our local flavors, and immerse yourself in the warmth of our community. Your journey has brought you here, and we're delighted to share it. Welcome to our home.

The travelers expressed gratitude for the mayor's welcome and shared their desire to stay a while longer in Oakvale. The mayor, in turn, permitted them, welcoming them to stay in the town as long as they pleased.

With the matter settled, the travelers departed for a local hotel to rest for the night. In the following days, the locals began to notice a growing influx of bikers entering their town. At first, it was just a few, but their numbers multiplied with each passing day.

Concerned whispers spread among the townsfolk, prompting some to voice their worries to the mayor. However, the mayor dismissed their concerns, assuring them that the newcomers were merely travelers like the group they had welcomed earlier.

The frustration and anger simmered among the residents of Oakvale as the bikers continued to disrupt their peaceful town. With each passing day, their numbers swelled, and to the mayor's shock, it became apparent that the visitors he had welcomed with open arms were among the bikers, with their leader at the forefront.

The once-charming streets of Oakvale now echoed with the deafening roar of motorcycle engines as the bikers reveled in their newfound presence. They careened through the town with reckless abandon, disregarding the peace and tranquility that
