How To Improve Your Concentration And Get Things Done Efficiently

You see, distraction and concentration are like two ends of a seesaw.
Too much of one will affect the other.
Here's an analogy I like about our attention.
Try to imagine rays of sunlight on a clear day.
These rays spread out in all directions.
They have the energy to warm your skin and leave you with a nice tan.
But take a magnifying glass and see what happens.
These rays of sunlight are concentrated and focused into a beam on one spot, giving the beam enough energy to burn through leaf, paper, or even wood!
And so it is with your attention.
Concentrating and focusing your attention on the task at hand is the key to burning through your goals.
The best thing is it's EASY to do and will skyrocket your productivity levels.

Master Your Focus - How To Improve Your Concentration And Get Things Done Efficiently - Sterling Simon
Chapter 1: Focus
Defined
Accomplishment depends on focus. It may be in the same category as ambition, motivation, leadership, and other driving forces behind becoming successful, but it may not receive the attention it deserves. The importance of focus in an individual's ability to be productive cannot be overstated.
All of this basically means that you must be focused in order to accomplish something or be successful in your endeavors. But, before we get there, consider what it means to be focused.
Focus, by definition, is a skill that enables people to begin a task without procrastination and then maintain their attention and effort until the task is completed. It is the ability to not only pay attention to what they are doing but also to avoid distractions that will obstruct the work they are attempting to do.
In fact, focus is so essential to getting anything done that you can't think without it. When you hear about perception, memory, learning, reasoning, decision making, and problem solving, you know that none of these things can be accomplished successfully unless you focus.
On the contrary, a wandering mind will make you less effective at work and reduce your productivity. The same applies to work quality, resulting in less-than-ideal results. Not to mention that you will be wasting time every time your mind wanders.
Why Do People Struggle With A Lack Of Focus?
A lack of focus may be of interest in some cases. Take, for example, your daily to-do list. Not everything on the list may be interesting to work on, but it must be completed in order for you to progress. In these situations, you may find yourself trapped, trapped doing something you don't care about. Your only obligation may be the desire to complete the task in order to move on to other things. Not the best motivator, but that's life; in the real world, things have to get done in order for other things to get done.
In these circumstances, it is natural for your mind to wander. You may end up making excuses for not doing that particular thing, such as claiming that you don't really need to do the job right then, that it's not that important, or that you have better things to do than the job at hand. However, no matter how you dress them up, they are all just excuses for procrastination.
This brings us to another aspect of concentration: procrastination. Procrastination is perhaps the most significant impediment to achieving good focus. When you use procrastination to avoid doing a task, you're really saying that you don't want to do it, or that you secretly hope it will go away on its own, or that you will eventually feel motivated to do it.
With so much going on, it's no surprise that focus slips to the sidelines and never returns to the forefront.
While there is much more to say about procrastination, we will cross that bridge when we come to
