THE SPIRITUAL CONCEPT OF HARLOTRY IN THE HOLY SCRIPTURES!

    Question 2119

    Answer:

    T

he spiritual concept of harlotry or the concept of the prostitute in the Holy Scriptures needs to be taught to proper understanding even to Pastors and Prophets!

When it comes to spiritual understanding, who is a harlot or who is a prostitute? Or, how does God Almighty define a harlot or a prostitute? Let us consider the following verses to confirm our doctrine:

A city is a harlot, a prostitute, and a murderous city when that city leaves the Word of God or the Judgment of God to practise sin and unrighteousness!

Isaiah 1:21 (KJV) How is the faithful city become an harlot! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers.

Isaiah 1:22 (KJV) Thy silver is become dross, thy wine mixed with water:

Isaiah 1:23 (KJV) Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them.

Isaiah 1:24 (KJV) Therefore saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts, the mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will ease me of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies:

When the people of God leave the Law/Covenant/Commandments of God and begin to do wickedly, when Christians backslide from the truth of the Gospel, when Men and Women of God begin to teach doctrines that are contrary to the Word of God, then they have all become harlots, prostitutes, adulterers, whores, murderers, and accursed!

Jeremiah 2:19 (KJV) Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.

Jeremiah 2:20 (KJV) For of old time I have broken thy yoke, and burst thy bands; and thou saidst, I will not transgress; when upon every high hill and under every green tree thou wanderest, playing the harlot.

Jeremiah 2:21 (KJV) Yet I had planted thee a noble vine, wholly a right seed: how then art thou turned into the degenerate plant of a strange vine unto me?

Jeremiah 2:22 (KJV) For though thou wash thee with nitre, and take thee much soap, yet thine iniquity is marked before me, saith the Lord GOD.

Galatians 1:8 (KJV) But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

Galatians 1:9 (KJV) As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

When Men of God teach false doctrines, they are harlots, adulterers, murderers, and prostitutes, whether they are men or women, it does not matter their gender!

Jeremiah 3:1 (KJV) They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man's, shall he return unto her again? shall not that land be greatly polluted? but thou hast played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, saith the LORD.

Jeremiah 3:6 (KJV) The LORD said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot.

Jeremiah 3:8 (KJV) And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.

A harlot and a prostitute are anyone who does not hear and do the Word of God!

Ezekiel 16:35 (KJV) Wherefore, O harlot, hear the word of the LORD:

An adulterer or adulteress is anyone who consults other gods and who is not under the covering of the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob!

Hosea 3:1 (KJV) Then said the LORD unto me, Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an adulteress, according to the love of the LORD toward the children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine.

Hosea 3:2 (KJV) So I bought her to me for fifteen pieces of silver, and for an homer of barley, and an half homer of barley:

Hosea 3:3 (KJV) And I said unto her, Thou shalt abide for me many days; thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt not be for another man: so will I also be for thee.

Hosea 3:4 (KJV) For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and without teraphim:

A witch, a wizard, a necromancer, any Pastor or Prophet like Frank Dwomoh Sarpong who checks people’s palms in the church for signs to read people’s palms and prophesy with them, that so-called Prophet is a harlot, a prostitute, an adulterer, a whore, and a murderer!

Nahum 3:4 (KJV) Because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the well favoured harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts.

Nahum 3:5 (KJV) Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of hosts; and I will discover thy skirts upon thy face, and I will shew the nations thy nakedness, and the kingdoms thy shame.

Nahum 3:6 (KJV) And I will cast abominable filth upon thee, and make thee vile, and will set thee as a gazingstock.

A Christian who is joined to another spirit by believing false doctrines is a harlot, a prostitute, an adulterer, a whore, and a murderer!

1 Corinthians 6:15 (KJV) Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.

1 Corinthians 6:16 (KJV) What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.

1 Corinthians 6:17 (KJV) But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

A person or a Man of God who will not be corrected by the Word of God, or who is offended and begins to curse and to threaten death and Court cases when he is rebuked by another Man of God for his false doctrines, that falsely-called Man of God is a harlot, a prostitute, an adulterer, a whore, and a murderer!

Jeremiah 3:3 (KJV) Therefore the showers have been withholden, and there hath been no latter rain; and thou hadst a whore's forehead, thou refusedst to be ashamed.

A whore is anyone who corrupts the Word of God!

2 Corinthians 2:15 (KJV) For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:

2 Corinthians 2:16 (KJV) To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?

2 Corinthians 2:17 (KJV) For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.

1 Timothy 6:5 (KJV) Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

Revelation 19:2 (KJV) For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.

The LORD Jesus Christ be with your spirit. The LORD Jesus Christ give you understanding.

THE PLACE OF DIVORCE IN THE DOCTRINE OF CHRISTIAN MARRIAGE

    Question 2342

    Answer:

If the LORD Yeshua the Christ is the Bridegroom:

Matthew 9:15 (KJV) And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.

Mark 2:19 (KJV) And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? as long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.

If the wife of the Bridegroom is The Church:

Revelation 19:7 (KJV) Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

Revelation 19:8 (KJV) And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

Revelation 21:9 (KJV) And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.

Revelation 21:10 (KJV) And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

    Revelation 21:11 (KJV) Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;

If Yeshua the Christ said that HE will build His wife whose name is The Church and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against Her:

Matthew 16:18 (KJV) And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

If the wife of the Bridegroom called The Church is a Virtuous Woman, having the glory of God on Her:

Proverbs 31:10 (KJV) Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

If the wife of the Bridegroom called The Church is the Spouse of Christ:

Song of Solomon 4:11 (KJV) Thy lips, O my spouse, drop as the honeycomb: honey and milk are under thy tongue; and the smell of thy garments is like the smell of Lebanon.

Ephesians 5:31 (KJV) For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

Ephesians 5:32 (KJV) This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

If the wife of the Bridegroom called The Church has no spot or blemish or wrinkle or any such thing:

    Ephesians 5:25 (KJV) Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

Ephesians 5:26 (KJV) That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

Ephesians 5:27 (KJV) That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

If the wife of the Bridegroom called The Church is perfect:

Hebrews 12:23 (KJV) To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

Then, where is the place of divorce when the two have become one?

John 17:21 (KJV) That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

Hebrews 13:5 (KJV) Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Colossians 3:3 (KJV) For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

1 Corinthians 6:17 (KJV) But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

If Christ said that the gates of Hell shall not prevail against the Wife, then, how did your gate of Hell called divorce find its way into the marriage that is perfect and without spot?

It is therefore a different Church, but NOT of Christ!

    2 Thessalonians 2:3 (KJV) Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

2 Thessalonians 2:4 (KJV) Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

If the gates of Hell called divorce is able to prevail against the marriage, then that marriage was NOT of God in the first place! Then, it was a marriage of Satan from the very beginning, because, it cannot be that the LORD Yeshua the Christ is wrong and you are correct!

    John 10:35 (KJV) If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

The presence of divorce, the acceptance of the doctrine of divorce, the practise of divorce, is the sure evidence that the church, the couple, the union, the marriage, was never a part of Christ to begin with, for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us!

1 John 2:19 (KJV) They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

Do you now understand the doctrine of divorce, that it has no place in a true Christian Marriage?

The LORD Jesus Christ be with your spirit. The LORD Jesus Christ give you understanding.

ermeneutics is the study and establishment of the principles by which you interpret the Word of God. Thus, any rules, theoretical or practical, that you follow in order to bring out the meaning of a Bible text, is called Biblical Hermeneutics.

The theoretical part is called Hermeneutics and then the actual application and implementation of the rules of Bible translation and interpretation, in order to bring out the hidden meaning that is called Biblical Exegesis!

This introduction contains the entire theory that is at the foundation of how I teach the Word of God the way that I teach it, in other words: the why behind the what.

    ABSTRACT

The aim of the research that led to the Perfect Harmony Theory for Bible Translation and Interpretation (Pryce, 2011) was to discover a scientific method of intralingual Bible interpreting where scientific means that (1) the faithfulness and accuracy of the translation are verifiable and (2) replicability of meaning at the message level of the interpreting process is assured once the method is mastered. The method used for the research was simple: (1) explain the Perfect Harmony Method for Bible Translation and Interpreting and the aim of interpreting, (2) read the entire English Bible: King James Version, (3) discover how meaning was rendered in the Bible using only the Bible (KJV), (4) in the light of the Scriptures, examine the rendered meaning for perfect harmony at the lexical level, at the message level, and at the context level such that the accuracy of the rendering or the accuracy of the intralingual interpretation is assured by its perfect harmony with the rest of the entire Bible. We found two illustrations of the Perfect Harmony Method of Bible Translation and Interpreting in Mark 12 and Mark 15. Thus, by using the Bible as its own interpreter, we achieve faithfulness to the source text and accuracy of expression apart from the assurance that the interpretation is not contradicted by any other verse in the entire Bible.

To the extent that there are University Professors and academics who are still ignorant of the three levels of translation to wit: Intralingual Translation (One language translation), Intralingual Translation (two or more language translation), and Intersemiotic Translation (non-verbal, non-linguistic translation), it is important to state plainly and categorically that this textbook is a work of interpretation and translation. It is a work of both interpretation and translation because we interpret to translate and we translate to interpret!

Keywords: Method, Intralingual Translation, Bible Interpreting, Perfect Harmony.

    INTRODUCTION TO

    THE PERFECT HARMONY THEORY

Translation is the process of rendering meaning from an initiator to a receptor in order to achieve understanding of communication. In this paper, both translation and interpretation are used interchangeably given that during the cognitive process of translation, there is an interpretation segment that intervenes prior to writing the translation whereas, on the other hand, the act of note taking during interpreting is a clear intervention of a major translation activity of writing (cf. Seleskovitch, Danica, et Lederer, Marianne 2001).

We identify three types of translation known as interlingual translation, intralingual translation and intersemiotic translation. First, it is possible to render meaning from one language into another…that is called interlingual translation. Secondly, it is possible to render meaning within the same language such as when you take a Bible verse and explain it or when you explain a proverb in the same language to another…that practice is called intralingual translation.

Therefore, Bible teaching, paraphrasing, summarizing, rephrasing, deverbalization, rapporteuring, commentary, journalistic reporting, recasting just to name those few, are all examples of intralingual translation. Thirdly, it is possible to render meaning by means of signs and objects such as road signs and drawings…that is called intersemiotic translation (Jakobson, 1971: 266).

The type of Bible interpreting exemplified in this book is intralingual translation and the English Bible: King James Version was used throughout. It is well understood that in translation, you render meaning by means of entities called words or signs or symbols. Therefore, words are vehicles that carry meanings. Just as meaning cannot be independent of the context, so Bible translation, whether interlingual or intralingual, must respect the perfect harmony of the Scriptures. The Perfect Harmony Method of Bible Translation and Interpreting simply means that Bible teaching or interpreting must not in any way contradict any part of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.

    JUSTIFICATION FOR

    THE PERFECT HARMONY THEORY

The theme of perfect harmony is taken from 1 Corinthians 1:10 (KJV) Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

From that verse, we see that the Word of God calls for perfect harmony in interpreting if we take note of the words speak, no divisions, perfectly joined together, same mind, same judgment. The term judgment refers to a rendition, and for this context, it means translation or interpretation.

In other words, that verse is saying that for your translation or interpretation to be correct, it must respond to those defining elements in that list whereby, there are no divisions of meanings between the source and target texts, that both the translation and the source text/speech can be perfectly joined together, that the message in the mind when one hears it or reads it, remains the same, and finally that there is the same approval/judgment for both the interpretation and the source text. (cf. Vinay, Jean-Paul, and Jean Darbelnet. (1995 [1958]).

In order to achieve perfect harmony in Bible translation and interpreting, you need a Bible translation methodology. The primary objective of every translation activity is to discover the meaning of the text, image or speech, and then render that meaning to the audience to ensure communication. In the perfect harmony method for Bible translation, we use only the Bible (KJV) to establish our thesis on the correct interpretation of Scriptures.

Several uses of the term Bible in this research may lead one to think that the perfect harmony method for Bible translation is applicable to only the Bible. It is not, in fact, this perfect harmony translation method is applicable to every sacred text no matter what culture it belongs to, the reason being that the main thrust of this method is the emphasis that what is rendered as translation or interpretation must perfectly harmonize with the rest of whatever sacred text that was used.

Apart from 1 Corinthians 1:10(KJV) that we used a couple paragraphs above to anchor the need for perfect harmony in Bible translation and interpreting, pointing out that we cannot use any other text outside the Bible to explain the Bible, the following verse is also used to reinforce this Bible translation methodology.

In Proverbs 21:30 (KJV), we read: There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD. This means that any Bible translation or interpretation that is against or contradicts any smallest part of the Bible is false, unfaithful and inaccurate. One might wonder why the quotation says against the LORD but my explanation translates the LORD as equal to the Bible. The reason is that the Bible equates the Word of God in the Bible to the LORD/God according to: John 1:1 (KJV) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

The third justification for the Perfect Harmony Method for Bible Translation and Interpreting is found at: 2 Peter 1:20 (KJV) Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the Scripture is of any private interpretation. Take notice of how this verse actually sets the limits of Bible translation and interpretation, whereby, personal and private interpretations, or anything emanating thereof, is excluded so that the only method left has to come from the Bible itself hence the Bible becomes its own translator and interpreter.

In other words, you must allow the Bible to interpret itself through a diligent process of verse comparison to achieve perfect harmony according to: 1 Corinthians 2:13 (KJV) Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

TEN ROADMAPS TO UNDERSTANDING PERFECT HARMONY

The following ten thoughts can be used to understand the Perfect Harmony Method for Bible Translation and Interpreting:

The Word of God can be corrupted. In other words, the Word of God can be badly translated or interpreted according to:

2 Corinthians 2:17 (KJV) For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.

All the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God according to:

1 Corinthians 3:19 (KJV) For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

All the Word of God is wisdom and a man devoid of the Word of God has no wisdom at all in him according to:

Jeremiah 8:9 (KJV) The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the word of the LORD; and what wisdom is in them?

Deuteronomy 4:5 (KJV) Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the LORD my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it.
