    I CATCH MYSELF staring at him again. Luke Duncan--my smoking hot neighbor. I smile at this joke, because he's holding a small can of smoke. He keeps a beehive in the back yard of the duplex and now he's stalking around in a net hat with this can of smoke, humming softly and checking on the hive.

    I almost had a heart attack early this spring when I answered the door to see him standing there, sweaty and sexy in his jeans and undershirt. I'd noticed him for months, since I moved in this winter, but never dared to speak to him. You don't just walk up and talk to guys that hot…or I don't, anyway. So when he casually leaned against my doorframe, like he did this every day, and stuck out his hand, I was too stunned to speak.

    Hey. I'm Luke. I thought it was time I introduced myself.

    I couldn't even shake his hand, just stood there staring and clutching the door like it was holding me upright. His hand hung unshaken in the air until he dropped it to his side. He cocked an eyebrow at me, paused, and continued. So anyway, I wanted to let you know I'm getting a beehive.
