About this ebook

To many Christians, living the life of a Christian is a struggle to attain the standard of righteousness acceptable to God. This makes them carry a sense of guilt around, and instead of enjoying the good life of liberty that our Lord Jesus Christ came to give all mankind, they keep punishing themselves while waiting for a future date to enjoy that life.

This book was written to inform the reader that Christ declared that "it is finished," and all you need to do is believe in His Word and enjoy your new life as a born-again child of God. Christianity was never designed to be a religion of daily struggles to meet a particular standard. Christ met and exceeded the standards for us to ride on His wings, and Hebrews 4:14-16 attests to this fact.

I do hope you will enjoy this book as long as you keep an open heart and meditate on its content.

Remain blessed.

    My Daily Sample Prayer

As I wake up this morning, the beating of my heart is the first miracle I have experienced from You, O Lord. Thank You, for I am alive, healthy, loved, forgiven, and blessed. Thank You for protecting me and my family and for providing for all my needs. Thank You for all the blessings of today and for all my days. Thank You for the gift of Jesus Christ and the grace to be above only and not beneath. I know that I am created to succeed, designed to win, equipped to overcome, anointed to prosper, and blessed to become a blessing. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus’s name, amen.

This is the most important page in this book if you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. You will not maximize the benefits of this book if you don’t do that. Please pause for a little while and audibly confess the simple prayer below.

    Lord Jesus,

I repent of my sins today and accept You as my personal Lord and Savior.

    I am now born again.

Thank You, Lord, for the salvation of my soul that I have just received.

    Amen.

Congratulations, and welcome to the family of God. From now on, you will begin to live a lifestyle of an overcomer. Jesus Christ finished all your battles over two thousand years ago. All you need to do now is believe and thank God for the finished work and begin to enjoy your life under grace.

    Enjoy your reading.

    Introduction

Jesus Christ came to this world to reconcile mankind to God. He came to remove the veil that hindered our access to our Creator due to the sin of Adam.

The same Jesus Christ left a message to us to tell the untold around the world. He came and conquered Satan, the devil, and gave us a good and successful life to live. He is reigning, and He also wants us to reign in life.

This same Jesus will also come back to take His own home to reign in eternity with Him.

    Chapter 1

    The Practice of Self-Righteousness—a Misnomer

Man, on his own, cannot please God by practicing self-righteousness. Self-righteousness is a feeling or display of moral superiority derived from a sense that one’s beliefs and actions can pave the way for one’s acceptance by God. The practice of any religious belief that dwells on good deeds and self-righteousness to seek God’s approval is an exercise in futility. In fact, it is a misnomer if you are among those who are really born again. The dictionary definition of self-righteousness is: Confidence in one’s own righteousness, especially when smugly moralistic and intolerant of the opinions and behavior of others.

Biblically speaking, self-righteousness, which is related to legalism, is the idea that we can somehow generate within ourselves a righteousness that will be acceptable to God (Romans 3:10). Although any serious Christian would recognize the error of this thought because of our sinful nature. It is a constant temptation for all of us to believe we are, or can be, righteous in and of ourselves. How can you, as a mere mortal, think you can really live a life that is totally spotless in your own effort? Your life will become miserable if you even attempt it because you will start living in fear. If you are vast in the whole of the New Testament scriptures, you will discover that Jesus Christ and the apostle Paul came down hard, particularly hard, on those who attempted to live a self-righteous life. Too many people are living a life of regret and unfulfillment all over the world because they are trying to make sure they live a kind of life that people will see and say that they are blameless to get God’s approval.

The truth is that no man can be justified by God for his own efforts. Job realized this when he said in the Job 45:4–6:

How can man be justified with God? Or how can he be clean that is born of a woman? Behold even to the moon, and it shineth not; yea, the stars are not pure in His sight. How much less man, that is worm? And the son of man which is worm?

God’s righteousness is His saving action on behalf of His people and should not be limited to a forensic declaration. God’s gift and God’s power cannot be separated from one another. Since everyone has fallen short of what God demands, no one can truly be justified before him or her by their good deeds (Romans
