Identity - Andriy Kostyuk
Preface
In our search for identity and purpose, we encounter the profound connection between God's identity and our own. This journey of exploration unveils a tapestry woven through history, eternity, and the heritage of Israel.
Within this exploration, Yeshua emerges as the central figure, transcending time, and encapsulating Israel's narrative. Joining God's family requires being born again from the Holy Spirit, a divine gift received through the good news of Yeshua.
Scriptures play a vital role, carrying Jewish heritage and revealing God's mysteries. By immersing ourselves in their wisdom, we merge corporate and personal memories, forging a harmonious identity.
We yearn to grasp the mysteries beyond creation, longing to know God fully. Through faith and apt works, our identities become intertwined with the Divine.
May this exploration bring us closer to our Heavenly Father and deepen our understanding of ourselves in Him.
Chapter 1: Asking the right questions
The question we would like to start with is, Who am I as a believer in Yeshua
? From whichever walks of life we come, we become something new, something better than we were before, something very different. Through the lens of Scripture, we will delve into the depth of God's love to better understand the privilege of being called children of God.
Let us begin by acknowledging God as our Heavenly Father and expressing gratitude for His guidance and protection. Through our faith in Yeshua, we have come to know God on a deeper and more intimate level, experiencing the oneness that exists between us and Him.
As we approach God's Word, we do so with trembling and reverence, recognizing the importance of His guidance and revelation. We seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit to illuminate the truths that lie within, and we ask for His blessings upon us as we embark on this journey of self-discovery, in the name of Yeshua.
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him.
(1John 3:1)
Our journey of self-discovery is intertwined with understanding who God is and the image in which we are created. To understand our identity as believers, we must reframe the question. Instead of asking, Who am I?
we should approach it from a different angle: Who is God, in whose image I am created and born?
By deepening our knowledge of God and drawing closer to Him, we gradually unravel
