About this ebook
A collection of poetry I have written while going through a lot of ups and downs myself, my first publication. Poems depicting people at their most beautiful, and their most ugly.
Anger, Despair, Elation, Insanity, and let's not forget Desire, this book encapsulates the human psyche. Enjoy.

Navigating the Ups and Downs of the Psyche - Lillitu Rose
Poems and Prose
For all who saw the light in darkness.
Surrender
I have a lot of anger in me
It comes and goes away
When away, there’s bliss
Which will never remain if I stay.
I gave up on everyone long ago
I gave up on life long before.
I could have ended my torment long ago, but didn’t,
Many think it noble, not really.
Small
The enemy of elation is practicality
To go through every day in a Waking Sleep
Affirming I must get through the day. The day is almost over.
Is my only solace.
I sit hoping to fill these pages with positivity
All I can muster is the thoroughly tragic word-vomit seen before you.
There are small moments the sun finally shines on my face,
But the rest of the time? An abyss.
It does Exist (inconveniently)
The moment of clarity when a person realizes they are loved
Unfathomable, enlightening, joyous, yet soothing.
Staring at the ceiling feeling the extent of their lover’s adoration.
Absentminded smile creeping across their face.
Sleeping nude snuggling with each other,
Feeling every inch gentle, eyelids growing heavy.
We look each other in the eyes knowing we’d both stay if we could
We part teary-eyed till we meet again.
Momentary Truth
Youth does not make a person unreliable
Momentary truths are all they can provide.
A boy tells a girl he loves her, he’s not lying.
As a man he may grow to love a woman, but in this moment...
The boy’s feelings are true.
A fleeting, momentary truth,
But still true.
Adult Parenting
Will I, won’t l?
Why does everyone care?
Why, after twenty years, is everyone suddenly aware?
My voice wasn’t heard, my opinions dismissed.
They smile in my face, give me half-hearted advice
Acting like I suspect nothing, I know they feel no remiss.
What happens from child to adult that makes people want to parent you,
When they left you to parent yourself in the first place?
Trauma Thoughts
We long for what harms us.
Humans may be the most advanced creature,
But not the smartest, by far.
We begin seeing our errors
We crave more balance
We start releasing what we no longer need.
Then, in a twist of fate, we purge our life of
