A COLLECTION OF CHILDREN'S STORIES - Lovely Stories

    Little Red Riding Hood

Once upon a time, a sweet young girl was adored by everyone who saw her, especially her grandma, who would have given everything for the kid. She once gave her a crimson velvet cap that fit her so wonderfully that she never wore anything else. As a result, she was usually referred to as Little Red Riding Hood.

Come over, Little Red Riding Hood; I've got some cake and wine for you. Bring these to your grandma; they will benefit her since she is sick and frail. Set off before it becomes hot, walk slowly and politely, and don't veer off the route; otherwise, you risk breaking the bottle, and your grandma won't get anything.

Little Red Riding Hood muttered to her mother, I'll be careful, and put her hand on the object.

Half a league separated the grandmother's home in the woods from the village1, and Little Red Riding Hood came across a wolf as she entered the woods. Little Red Riding Hood had no notion the man was a vicious monster and had no qualms about facing him.

He said, "Good morning, Little Red Riding Hood.

    Wolf, thank you very much.

Little Red Riding Hood, why are you leaving so soon?

    It's to my grandmother's.

    What's in your apron, exactly?

Cake and wine; yesterday was baking day, so the poor, sick grandmother deserves something good to help her recover.

Little Red Riding Hood, where in the world does your grandmother reside?

Little Red Riding Hood said, "You must know that the nut trees lie immediately below the three great oak trees, a quarter of a league farther on in the wood.

What a sweet little thing, the wolf thought to himself. She has a lovely, fat mouthful and will be more enjoyable to eat than the elderly lady. I have to be cunning if I want to capture both. He then added, See Little Red Riding Hood, how pretty the flowers are around here, after walking briefly beside Little Red Riding Hood. Why don't you turn around? I also think you're not hearing how

Little Red Riding Hood lifted her eyes and thought, Suppose I take grandmother a fresh nosegay, as she noticed sunbeams dancing here and there among the trees and gorgeous flowers sprouting everywhere. That would make her happy as well. I'll get there in plenty of time since it's so early in the day. So she dashed off the path towards the woods in search of flowers. And every time she chose one, she imagined seeing a yet beautiful one farther on, so she went after it, getting further and deeper into the wood.

Meanwhile, the wolf dashed to the grandmother's home and rapped the door.

    Who else is there?

Little Red Riding Hood, the wolf responded. She's bringing cake and wine, so please open the door.

Lift the latch, the grandma said, I am too weak to get up.

The wolf yanked the lock, the door flew wide, and he walked directly to the grandmother's bed and devoured her. Then he dressed in her clothing, donned her hat, climbed into bed, and pulled the curtains.

Little Red Riding Hood, on the other hand, had been racing about gathering flowers, and when she couldn't carry any more, she recalled her grandmother and went off to find her.

She was astonished to see the cottage door open, and when she entered the room, she had such an odd sensation that she thought to herself, oh dear, how uncomfortable I feel today, yet at other times I adore being with grandma so much.

Good morning, she said but got no response. So she went to her bed and pulled the curtains back. Her grandma lay there, her hat drawn tight over her face, looking weird.

Oh, grandmother, she said, what big ears you have.

The better to hear you with, my child, the response was.

But, grandmother, what big eyes you have, she pointed out.

The better to see you with, my dear.

But, grandmother, what large hands you have.

The better to hug you with.

But, grandmother, you have a terrible big mouth.

The better for you to eat with.

And as soon as the wolf shouted this, he sprang out of bed and swallowed Little Red Riding Hood.

When the wolf had satisfied his hunger, he returned to his bed, fell asleep, and started to snore loudly. The huntsman was walking by the home when he saw the elderly lady dozing. I should see what she wants.

So he entered the room, and as he got to the bed, he saw the wolf sleeping in it. Do I find you here, you old sinner, he said. I have long sought you.

Then, just as he was about to shoot at him, it occurred to him that the wolf may have consumed the grandmother, and she might still be rescued, so he did not fire but instead got a pair of scissors and started cutting open the sleeping wolf's stomach.

He noticed the Little Red Riding Hood sparkling after two snips, and then he made two more, and the little girl jumped out, saying, Ah, how frightened I have been. How dark it was inside the wolf.

Following that, the elderly granny emerged alive but struggling to breathe. Little Red Riding Hood, on the other hand, swiftly brought large stones and filled the wolf's belly, and when he awakened, he sought to get away, but the stones were so heavy that he collapsed and died.

Then all three were overjoyed. The huntsman took the wolf's skin and returned home with it. The grandmother awoke after eating the cake and drinking the wine that Little Red Riding Hood had brought, but Little Red Riding Hood thought to herself, as long as I live, I will never leave the path by myself to rush into the wood when my mother has prohibited me from doing so.

It is also said that while Little Red Riding Hood was returning to the elderly grandmother with cakes, another wolf approached her and attempted to seduce her away from the road. Little Red Riding Hood, on the other hand, was wary and went straight ahead on her way, telling her grandmother
