Waiting for The One - Ryan M. Cymerman
Missing but Found
As much as there’s a story
Behind every picture
There’s one behind every memory
You have touched my life
A way you would never know
Even though you’re not in my life right now
There’s one thing I know for sure
In my life you’re missing but found a way to touch it
You’re in my memories
You’re in my dreams
You’re in my stories that I tell
You’re in a song
You’re in my thoughts
In my life you may be missing but you’ll always be found
To think of you, all I have to do is look around
Your beautiful eyes, your beautiful face
Are in my dreams
No wonder I don’t want to leave this place
As it looks so real it seems
But as I can tell
In my life you’re missing but found a way to touch it
Whenever I talk about the past
The stories that seem to last
Are the stories about you
You will not be forgotten
In my life you may be missing but found a way to touch it
A thought of you is never far from gone
I will think of you all the days of the year
The way you changed my life forever
I hope that’s not to long my dear
In my life you may be missing but found a way to touch it
When the radio plays
A song that we danced to
I think of you and only you
And how we have not seen each other in years
But as I said before
You may be missing in my life but found a way to touch it
Back Out on Us
I stand on the porch
As I watch you walk to a line of cars
Underneath a night full of stars
As I watch you back out
On us
You said you’ll never look back
But when you get in the car
And shine your headlights on your past
I could see a tear in your eyes
Making another memory
But one you never wanted to last
Years later
I see you again
Backing away from me
I’m not the one who said goodbye
You are the one who got into the car
And backed out of the driveway
And drove afar
Now as we come face-to-face
You act like no contact
Would have all the memories erase
But I’ll let you know
They’ll never be gone
One step forward and two steps back
With you all dressed in black
You’re dancing all over again
You say you’re not running away
But moving on with your life
Now I feel like I’m repeating that
