A bucket of water just splashes on his face with Shashwat shouting Ranvijay, Ranvijay what are you doing??

"Oh!! Shunya. Please stop this early morning adjective laced narrative which is didactic and unbearable. What is so noteworthy in being a naib tehsildar!! What is thrilling in this mundane and mechanical training which starts with P.T, followed by boring and often repeated lectures in chaste Hindi

    ––––––––

which goes on till evening. Of Course, the only silver lining in the dark cloud is the serene and soothing ambience of Neetish Academy", says Shashwat in a disgusted voice.

Ok, ok, ok calm down Sassy Shashwat, Shunya replies and nudges him to get ready.

Shashwat wears his jump suit, smiles at Shunya and utters these lines in a boisterous manner.

    "कितना भी गुज़र जाए ये वक़्त,

    वो दिलाब दिल में जलती थी,

    जलती है, जलती रहेगी!!"

Shunya laughs in an uncontrollable manner, joins his hands in a namaste bows his head and utters Senti Sufiyana Shashwat maharaj ki jay, bhai tujhse koi nahin jeet sakta. They both head to the playground for the training.

Shashwat Anant, a man of eclectic talent belongs to a rich Zamindar family of Raisen.

Anants are a household name in Raisen District for the commendable work they have done for the society. Anant’s father Shri Sudhansu Anant has been a President of the Zila Panchayat for almost ten years

and has done remarkable works of development in the interiors of the district. He has been to the remote corners and has made available the basic amenities to the people. He has installed hand pumps in many places where women would go 10 kms to fetch water. Tribal Villages got the facility of electricity during his tenure and is still remembered by the folks there. In fact, Sudhansu Anant is widely known among the Aam Janta who respect and admire him for the difference he has created in their lives. It’s not only his work but his humility and compassion which has won the hearts of many.

Raisen, a district situated in the heart of Madhya Pradesh. It has around 2% of Madhya Pradesh total area. It shares its boundary with the State Capital Bhopal and the districts of Vidisha and Sehore.

Raisen is famous for the World Heritage Sites. The two situated here are Bhimbhetka and Sanchi.

Bhimbetka is known for its prehistoric Stone Age paintings and Rock Shelters. There are cave paintings of prehistoric times which are quite old. They are the early evidence of dance and hunting which has been depicted by them. This place was discovered by V.S Wakankar. The literal meaning of Bhimbetka refers to the sitting place of Bhima, one of the Pandavas from Mahabharata. Many tourists from within India and

outside come to visit this place of great Archaeological importance. Another World Heritage Site is Sanchi. It is famous for Stupas, Monolithic Ashokan Pillars, Monasteries and the Sculptures. There are four gateways or Toranas also which add feather to this sacred Buddhist monument. There is also Sanchi University, a State University dedicated to Buddhist— Indic Studies.

Raisen is also famous for Ratapani wildlife sanctuary. It has been designated as a Tiger Reserve. It has enriched flora and fauna with Chinkara, an endangered species and Paradise Flycatcher, State Birds of M.P found here. There are teak forests with rich biodiversity. The Wild Life Sanctuary runs almost parallel to River Narmada, the lifeline of M.P. Then, there is Raisen fort in the city of Raisen which is a treat to watch. It was built by King Rai Sen, a Hindu Ruler which after a series of invasions came under Nawabs of Bhopal which eventually passed on to the Archaeological Department. The fort has four palaces—-Badal Mahal, Rohini Mahal, Itradaan Mahal and Hawa Mahal. There is a Shiva temple which opens only on the Mahashivratri. Then, there is a shrine of Muslim Saint Hazrat Peer Fatehullah Shah Baba which is said to fulfill the wishes if one prays with pious intentions.

Last, but not the least is the temple of Bhojpur which has the one of the tallest Shivling. River Betwa also passes by from Bhojpur. Every year during Shivratri, a big festival is organized in Bhojpur which attracts people from all over.

Coming to the administrative division of the district, Raisen is divided into seven tehsils Raisen, Goharganj, Begamganj, Gairatganj, Silwani, Bareli and Udaipura. Goharganj is the most Developed tehsils of all. The industrial house Mandideep which is a municipality is situated in this very tehsil. There are municipal wards along this industrial belt. One of them is the municipal ward with the name Tatya Tope which is formed by combining the nearby villages. One of the villages here is Itaya.

It is here where the Anant family resides with the land holding of about 300 acres. Agriculture is their main activity with the growing of Kharif and Rabi crops with a certain amount of land reserved for organic farming. With the changing times, they have diversified their activities with the building of cold storages, opening of cement factories, taking the dealership of Toyota and Eicher Tractors and last but not the least the chain of restaurants titled as   Kutumb!! But this family is a class apart. More than their business, they are known for humanitarian

assistance and charitable contributions. They have opened schools, hospitals and Dharamshala. Also, in Pitru Paksha they conduct a great ceremony of paying obeisance to their ancestors where annual feast to 100 Brahmins is followed by a large scale offering of food to the poor, needy and disadvantaged group of people. Anant values and respect their ancestors a lot for they believe it is their grace and wisdom which have made them grown as humble human beings. Their forefathers adopted the surname Anant for they believed in a casteless society. A man’s worth and dignity is known by his hard work, perseverance, courage, moral values and ethics and not determined by the caste he is born into. Also, Anant’s family members are great cow lovers. For them they have built gaushalas which took care of milking as well as the non milking cows. Their cow dung is used in the biogas which they have built
