    How I Pray - Rebecca L Porreco

    Introduction

Hebrews 4:12, says, For the word of God is quick and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Intercession is a desire with the gift to know how to pray!

The Word of God means Logos, the words and revelation of the gospel, however, yet inspired by the Holy Spirit to be written and then heard and then taught, by chosen men of God, so others would identify with God as the Godhead consisting of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit as One. It is to know Him as He reveals Himself to each one of us, each differently, yet one body, from the One Spirit of God.

Quick means moving or functioning rapidly and energetically; speedy, to do something in the mind or the body, both directed by the Spirit.

Powerful means having or capable of exerting power; effective, potent, not to be misused, but directed.

Sharp means having a thin, keen edge or a fine acute point; suitable for or capable of cutting or piercing.

Divide means to separate into parts, sections, groups or branches, to separate from, cut off.

Asunder means apart from each other either in position or direction, into separate parts or pieces.

Soul means the spiritual nature of man, regarded as immortal, separable from the body at death.

Spirit means the part of a human being associated with the mind and feelings and is a distinguished part from the physical body.

Joint means a point or position at which two or more things are joined, such as bones in the body.

Marrow means the soft material that fills bone cavities, consisting in varying proportions of fat cells and maturing blood cells together with supporting connective tissue and numerous blood vessels.

Discern means to perceive (something obscure or concealed); to detect, to know and to understand.

Thoughts means the act or process of thinking; intention, purpose. An event in the mind from any of the five senses.

Intent means that which is intended; having the mind fastened on some purpose, that it be good and not evil.

HEART means the vital center of one’s being; emotions and sensibilities. The core of the human body which causes the body to function; to live.

Proverbs 28:9-10, He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be an abomination. Whoso causeth the righteous to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit; but the upright shall have things in possession.

    Dedication

I am encouraged and yet determined that when anyone reads the word, if they can truly grasp the revelation given in this one scripture, it will propel them to pray with a stronger knowledge of how to pray, when to pray, why we pray and are you ready to pray, knowing when you speak the word of God you are actually speaking what He has already spoken from heaven. This is then that moment when you understand, "My words will not return unto Me void, they will go and accomplish that which they have been sent to do", Isaiah 55:11.

    Chapter 1

I know when I read these scripture verses for the first time in 1Kings 3:5-15, it was the most amazing purpose for a dream and encounter with God I have ever realized so far. Now, I know about others in the bible, but I am specifically talking about a prayer that came from Solomon’s heart to God concerning the position of being the king of Israel and the king of Judah. Even though he was young and inexperienced as a new king, God made him the wisest and the wealthiest man on the face of the earth at that time. Although inspired by God, the Lord told him in his dream, because you asked for wisdom on how to rule the people as my servant in this kingdom, I will give you what you have asked of Me and that much more you could even dreamed as being a king.

Here is the dream that became a reality!
