Everyone knows the moment something is forbidden, it becomes irresistible. But what do you do once it cannot be resisted?

BODIES WERE WEIRD. Magical, my grannie would have said. Natural, my mum would have insisted. But when you are thirteen and hormones hit you hard, ‘weird’ does the trick.

As a werewolf, you don’t really need anyone to explain the birds and the bees. During the full moon, no one cares that much about privacy, and if you don’t want to look, you don’t look. Staring is not cool, as in almost every other situation. But by thirteen, I had seen adults go at it.

I’d even seen some men do stuff with each other. The younger guys who didn’t have a mate would roll around rubbing off against each other. One time I’d even seen Ivan getting sucked off by a dark head that I was pretty sure was Harvey Benna.

Okay, yeah, I know, I paid a lot of attention. Like you wouldn’t?

I listened too, so I knew guys only went for guys because it was easy. Or at least they said that a lot afterwards. It was all about pretending you didn’t really want it because if you wanted it, really wanted it, then the other guy was in control.

And I wanted it, which was fucking annoying. I couldn’t stop looking at them, like my eyes didn’t belong to me anymore. It wasn’t my fault; they were always half naked, sometimes all naked. Sometimes it was summer and it was hot and we all ended up starkers after we shifted anyway, so who cared?

I did, obviously, so I had to be the loudest. If they were looking at me, then they could hardly blame me for looking back, right? And I liked that, their attention, their laughter, the spark in their eyes and even their headshakes after I
