An omega wolf on the run. An alpha and his mate who just might save him...

As pack alpha in a small, mountain town, Colton Smith doesn't see trouble often. Until today. A snowstorm is on the way, and he just discovered a lone werewolf working in his town without permission. After confronting the omega wolf, he quickly learns there is far more to the story. The handsome Tyler Blake is clearly on the run from something or someone. Colton can't ignore his protective instincts for this lean wolf with the beautiful eyes...or deny the attraction he feels for the young man. When he discovers Tyler's been sleeping in the forest because he doesn't have a place to stay, Colton knows he can't leave him out in the storm. Bringing him home to Ethan, his mate, is sure to create complications, but an alpha must do what's right to protect those around him. As a blizzard rages, the heat inside their cabin really begins to blaze. Colton and Ethan might just teach the skittish Tyler what it means to trust...and to love.

After fleeing his abusive pack, Tyler ends up with a brand new job in a secluded town tending bar. What he doesn't expect is a rugged and rough alpha walking through the door like a dream come true. Colton gives off power like a furnace gives off heat...and with no place to stay, Tyler could really use some warmth right now. But after Colton brings him home, Tyler finds he's just as attracted to Ethan, Colton's stylish mate. Caught between a surprisingly kind alpha and his elegant lover, Tyler might be forced to reveal the secrets of why he's on the run. But what else is a shifter to do? The blizzard has him stranded, and his old, cruel alpha might just be on his trail...

    Omega's Saviors - Zia Quinn

    CHAPTER ONE

    Colton

I gripped the steering wheel tighter in my hands, feeling the tires threaten to swerve beneath me. I squinted through the evening, my windscreen wipers moving frantically to keep the worst of the snow off my window.

The snow wasn’t too bad yet, but there was talk of a huge blizzard about to hit. The whole town was hunkering down, and I wasn’t about to get caught out. The weatherman might not think that the storm was that bad, but weatherman be damned, I knew the storm was a big one, and it was coming soon. It had come almost out of nowhere, hitting less than a few hours ago, and I needed to stock up, make sure that I had enough, not only for myself but for anyone who stopped by. I watched the road flash by in a stream of streetlamps and snow. Not far now until I was in town.

Snowbridge was just a small town in Colorado, and I didn’t have very far to go to get what we need. It was a good thing too. The surroundings stretched for miles, without another town close by. I loved the solitude of the town, the fact that there weren’t a lot of people around to get in my business or interfere in my pack. I bristled at the thought of anyone so much as laying a hand on my pack, especially on Ethan.

I was approaching the town limits now, close to the edge of it, and I checked to make sure everything was like it should be. I needed to make sure my pack was looked after at all times, no matter what. And, today, that meant making sure we had the supplies we needed. Food, water, firewood, gas for the generators if the power went out. I always had a stock of extra medicine, extra food, extra water, but this storm hit so quickly that I wasn’t confident everyone else was prepared. As the alpha of my pack, it was my job to think of these things and make sure everyone was protected. Heck, I even watched over the humans who lived in Snowbridge.

I parked the car outside of Jack’s Bar and Grill, right at the outskirts of the town, and cut the engine. I stepped out of the car, not bothering to lock it behind me. The snow attached itself to my jacket immediately, and the breath left my lips in white puffs of steam. It was getting colder.

The snow made it harder to smell things, but I wasn’t worried. Yet. My regular patrols were keeping an eye on things, as they always did. Mine was the only pack for miles around. And the laws about territory are clear. No encroaching on another pack’s turf. Announce yourself if you want to pass through. Don’t cross the alpha.

And no one would cross me. Especially not out here, in the Rockies. In the winter. Any other packs who messed with us wouldn’t be found until spring.

I made my way to the bar, feeling my feet crunch on the snow, leaving tracks that would soon be covered up by the fresh snow falling from the heavens. I sighed and stretched out the kinks from my neck. I planned on stocking up on a few things from the bar—no one would want to be stuck inside for any length of time without liquor to help pass the time—and then I was going to head to the grocery store to grab the last few things I needed. The grocery store here was always open late when the snow was rolling in.

After all, when your pack owns the majority of the surrounding land, it just made things easier. Especially when the full moon hit. Many packs that lived closer to the city had a harder time than we did when the full moon hit and they had to hide who and what they were. Hiding the wolf always made a shifter stressed and restless. We liked the wide open spaces, the wilderness, the trees and streams and all the wildlife that provided for hunting.

I shook the thoughts out of my head as I pushed through the door. Ethan would be very worried if I didn’t get back soon, and I was in no mood to trouble him. I felt a warmth move through me at the thought of Ethan, the thought of him back at home after a long trip away, back in my arms. I shook it off, trying to focus on the task at hand, but thoughts of him always crept up on me when I least expected them. They always made me smile, despite the danger.

The little bell over the door tinkled merrily as I entered. Even with the storm, there were still people at the bar. It was warm inside, and already I could feel the heat starting to spread through my body and chase away the chill. Maybe they had the right idea. A drink would chase the remainder of the cold from my fingertips, and I could go about getting what I needed.

I took a deep breath. Something didn’t smell right in here. Something smelled new and strange, and yet familiar. The tension bunched in my shoulders, and I glanced around. It didn’t take me long to find my mark.

There, behind the bar. I couldn’t make him out completely from this distance, but a man stood behind the bar, washing glasses and setting them on the rack beside the sink to dry. I could tell what he was in a heartbeat. Firstly, there was the scent, a scent that even the liquor couldn’t quite mask. Then there were the subtleties in his body language, something most people would miss.

There was a werewolf in my territory who wasn’t part of my pack. A wolf tending bar in my town, who’d never even asked my permission to drop by. I had to deal with this—threat or not—right away.

I frowned and glanced around. Not too many people in the bar. Crowded enough that we wouldn’t stand out, but not so crowded that we were likely to be overheard. Perfect. I could give him his options and send him packing. Or drag him out by the neck if he needed convincing.

I took a seat at the bar. The new bartender looked up, and I got my first real look at him. He was young. I hesitated, surprised. He was a lot younger than I’d thought he was, maybe in his mid-twenties. Delicate bone structure, almost fragile-looking. I expected someone rough, someone I would have to drag out by the scruff of the neck and maybe pound on a little to get my point across. But he wasn’t the type for that.

He had wild, dark hair that fell to his shoulders in soft waves, and when he looked at me, I noticed his startling—and startled—green eyes. My heart caught in my chest, and I didn’t quite know why.

I saw confusion flash across his features, and he froze. His beautiful green eyes widened, and I saw a multitude of emotions flash across them. Confusion first and then panic.

He was frozen in flight-or-fight mode, and I knew all too well that he had no intention of fighting me. That meant that he would be running. I frowned. I didn’t want to have to go chase him through the snow. I had better things to do. Besides, it was snowing.

Yet there was something about him, with those wide eyes, that seemed almost hurt, that seemed almost traumatized. Those eyes belonged to a man with something lurking in his past or a man who was very much afraid. He had reason to fear me, but this seemed to go deeper than that.

The anger and tension that had filled me when I entered the bar started to drain away. I no longer wanted to teach him a lesson and make sure he was gone by morning. I no longer had a point to drive home. This young werewolf was hurt and needed protection. I couldn’t add to whatever suffering he was clearly already enduring.

Take it easy, I said, holding his gaze as only an alpha can. You’re safe here.

He didn’t seem to relax any, but he wasn’t running either. Every good alpha knew how to calm young wolves who were feeling anxious
