Poured Out Like Water - Tracy L. Lee
INTRODUCTION
Pour out your hearts like water to the Lord.
Lamentations 2:19 NLT
All of us must die eventually. Our lives are like water spilled out on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again. But God does not just sweep life away; instead, he devises ways to bring us back when we have been separated from him. 2 Samuel 14:14
Congratulations on your obedience to the prompting of the Holy Spirit and your decision to dive into this devotional.
This devotional is designed for us to relate to one another on a deep and personal level while growing closer to God as we pour out our lives like water. Trusting that God will bring us back when we have been separated from him.
God gave us the most precious gift of His son Jesus Christ, who poured out His life for ours. As we read with open hearts and minds, the devotional will take us on a journey of discovering and rediscovering our lives in Christ during difficult seasons we may face.
My prayer for you is that Poured Out Like Water
is a reminder that God will take what we think is our most enormous mess and turn it into a message of hope, resilience, strength, and new beginnings. We must not be afraid to pour our lives out like water before Him to make something beautiful out of who we are.
DAY ONE:
GOD, WHERE ARE YOU? I FEEL LIKE I AM DROWNING.
God, where are you? You promised never to leave or forsake me, but I cannot feel your presence. In fact, I feel like you have left me. Maybe you have forsaken me. Why do I feel so alone during this season? I feel like I have poured out my life before you and have nothing left. You could say I am a bit desperate. God, there is undoubtedly an emptiness that I need you to fill.
If we were completely honest, many of us have felt this way a time or two in our lives. It may have been at the earliest stages of our walk with God. Some call that being a baby Christian.
There may be times when these thoughts come after losing a loved one. Destructive behaviors of a child may have prompted these feelings. The change of job or finances may have happened unexpectedly. Maybe even the loss of your health.
We must remind ourselves that God promises that He will never leave us. He will never leave me or you; we are not and will not be forsaken. The Lord will always save us from drowning in our circumstances. God has already thrown us a lifeline. His name is Jesus.
Key Takeaways
Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Deuteronomy 31:6
Let your conversation be without covetousness and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. Hebrews 13:5
God is certainly not a man that He should lie, and He cares deeply about you in every season. That means your early walk with Jesus. Your seasoned years of faith and conviction. Through every twist and turn of life. God will not leave you nor forsake you. In fact, He provided a constant comforter for you in His Wonderful Holy Spirit. Receive the gift of
