About this ebook

What's a girl to do when her two favorite teams are playing each other on the ice?

Livvy Johnson loves hockey, so when she has a choice to use her ticket or let it go to waste, she knows the obvious answer. Little does she know what kind of effect that one decision could have on her life.

Dean Perry never expected to win big at his poker game. It turns out he just may be luckier than he could've ever imagined.

Will a little Saturday night shenanigans bring these two together?

This novelette of under 10k words can be read as a standalone, but can best be enjoyed when read as part of the Meet Cute series.

He got the night off. We're going out!

Livvy Johnson fought to focus on what her friend was shouting into the phone. She was working furiously to finish her article in time for her noon deadline. The world of online journalism never stopped. What? she asked.

Kyle finally asked me out. On a real date, Marla emphasized that point. One of the other doctors on his floor agreed to cover for him in exchange for another shift. We're going out.

When? Livvy was happy for Marla, but she didn't understand why this conversation couldn't wait until they went out tonight.

They had tickets to the Washington Capitals game and Livvy couldn't have been more excited about it. Livvy grew up in a house of sports fanatics, so she knew a thing or two about nearly every sport, but hockey had always been her favorite. There was something about the environment that made it special to her. Maybe it was the ice, or the way the players skated so beautifully, even if their movements were full of aggression for the most part. Once she hit submit on her article, she would be a free woman and could go home to get ready for her favorite night of the year, the one night she splurged to go to a hockey game in person, as opposed to watching it on television.

Livvy and Marla were supposed to have dinner first. Livvy would've preferred to talk about this over dinner, but Marla insisted it couldn't wait.
