Sarah chewed the end of the pen thoughtfully as she decided on her numbers. Each had a special significance: 16 was Ginny’s birthday; 49, because it would be her 49th; 8, 12 and 19 were the dates of her children’s birthdays, and 1 because, as best friends, she and Ginny always put each other first.
