Fleeing the destruction of the Inuit pantheon, the goddess left the icy waters of the Arctic Circle behind.
How many had died?
Gods had been dying in the war for centuries, but not her gods. Not the Inuit. They’d managed to stay out of the war...until today.
Poseidon, the strongest of sea deities, perished in the war. He’d died over two centuries ago and the oceans still mourned his passing. Atlacamani, Manannan mac Lir, Mizuchi and over a dozen other sea deities from the other pantheons had also been destroyed. War was devastating the heavens above and even the placid seas of Earth were no longer safe. The Titans had freed the Kraken from its prison, and the creature wreaked havoc across the watery depths, hunting gods, goddesses and sea creatures at its masters’ request. The merfolk were hiding. The sea nymphs and water sprites lived in a constant state of panic.
I will not be another casualty...at least, not today.
The tingle along her skin alerted Sedna she’d crossed the border. She was in his realm now. Well, all the sea was his realm really, but here she felt his essence closer. Tropical currents caught her,
