Introduction

The devil never comes to us as himself, and hollers: Boo; I am the devil, and I am going to deceive you and destroy you! No, Satan being a bluff, he cannot afford to divulge his real-nature to those he seeks to destroy. No SANE-person would fall for Satan’s lies; if he or she suspected they were lies. Proverbs 1:17: "Surely in vain is the NET spread in the SIGHT of any bird." Who would deliberately step into a trap they watched someone set for them? Christians certainly ought to know that Bible- Truth! "Lest the devil get an advantage of us believers: For we are NOT ignorant of his devices." (2 Corinthians 2:11) But, many believers today ARE IGNORANT of the devil’s devices: One reason for this TIMELY-BOOK! The DIVINE-PURPOSE of this book is to re-educate believers who have been thoroughly-DECEIVED by both religious-tradition and the un-biblical-concepts propagated by the fallen-world AND the church. Many people in the church today are impressed by EVERYTHING they ought not be impressed by—and deliberately ignore Holy Scripture—the ONLY dependable-depository of TRUTH.

One shocking-discovery in my 50+ years of ministry is that MANY people (EVEN church-members) WANT TO BE DECEIVED! Sounds crazy; but true. Isaiah 30:9-10: "Israel is a rebellious people—lying children—who WILL NOT LISTEN TO THE LAW OF THE LORD. They demand of Seers [who could see into the spirit-realm]: ‘See not!’ And, they say to the prophets: ‘Prophesy not to us what is right. But speak to us SMOOTH THINGS—PROPHESY DECEITS.’ Another example is Jeremiah 5:30-31: An astonishing and horrible thing is committed in this [My] land [Israel]: The prophets prophesy FALSELY; and the priests RULE THEIR OWN WAY; and My people LOVE to have it that way. But, what will you do at the end?"

That being people’s ATTITUDE back in ancient-days, think not the SAME-ATTITUDE is not HIDING in today’s churches. In fact, 2 Corinthians 2:11 warns believers of that very possibility! Why warn about Satan’s-devices if they do not exist or pose no dangers? Satan’s-character and tendencies are the SAME today as ever. Moreover, the fallen-world we live in is the same as it has always been—except for modern-technology. Religion is also the same except for its modern-day-garb; which is basically the fallen-world’s-concepts, and practices, camouflaged AS CHRISTIANITY—AND WORN BY MODERN-WOLVES-IN-SHEEP’S-CLOTHING. (Matthew 7:15) And yet,…

Many even in the church will be SURPRISED at some of the-devil’s-camouflages! All of his hiding-places have one common-denominator—deception. Satan must HIDE behind some sort of DIVERSION to be able to pull off his dirty-deeds without getting caught. For, just like illegal- enterprises use legitimate-businesses to launder illegal- funds, the devil hides his evil work in organizations and activities that SEEM to be Godly; but are not. Of course, money-laundering itself is one of the-devil’s-foolers. His laundromat cleanses not, but dirties all it touches!

Even though this work uncovers many of the-devil’s- FAVORITE-hiding-places, this volume is not exhaustive. However, the lessons you learn from this book about the kinds of places the devil uses for his sneaky-hide-outs will SHARPEN YOUR SKILLS in detecting other satanic- camouflages that you will likely encounter on your own.

Chapter One

Chief-information about our Chief-Adversary

Peter warned believers: "Be sober; be vigilant [alert], because YOUR-ADVERSARY the devil, as a roaring-lion, walks around seeking someone to devour." (1 Peter 5:8) WHY is the devil OUR-adversary? Because we belong to God, and the devil is God’s-adversary! He cannot get to God Himself—so the MOST the devil can do is get to us—God’s children—BORN-AGAIN-BELIEVERS—MADE IN GOD’S IMAGE. Satan hating the HEAD OF THE FAMILY (Hebrews 3:6), he hates the family-members too! But,…

HOW did Satan’s ADVERSARINESS come about? We are told in Isaiah 14:12-15: "How you are FALLEN from heaven, LUCIFER, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, you WHO WEAKENED the nations. [That occurred before Adam was created.] For you have said in your heart: ‘I WILL ASCEND INTO HEAVEN AND EXALT MY THRONE ABOVE THE STARS. I WILL SIT ON THE MOUNT OF THE CONGREGATION [in heaven, upon God’s throne, AFTER pushing God off of it], on the sides of the North. I WILL ASCEND ABOVE THE HEIGHTS OF THE CLOUDS [So, Lucifer had a God-given-kingdom on earth before Adam.]. I will be LIKE the Most-High.’ But, you will be brought down to Hell, to the sides of the pit [instead of the sides of the North]." In addition,…

Ezekiel 28:12-19 provides more biblical-truth about Satan’s ORIGIN—HOW HE BECAME OUR-ADVERSARY. "Son of man [Ezekiel], make lamentation for the King of Tyre, and say unto him: ‘You sealed up the sum; full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. You were in EDEN, THE GARDEN OF GOD [NOT the Eden of Adam and Eve; for,] every precious stone was your covering [in His garden]: Sardius, topaz, diamond, beryl, onyx, jasper, sapphire, turquoise, emerald, and gold. The workmanship of your tabrets, and pipes [musical-instruments] was prepared IN you on the DAY YOU WERE CREATED. [Nothing like that was SAID about Adam’s Eden. Nor this:] You were the anointed-CHERUB [said only of angelic-beings] that covers; and I [God] set you so [His original-position was the-Creator’s-PLAN.]. You were ON the holy mountain of God [long before Adam]; you have walked up and down in the midst of the stones-of-fire. You were perfect in all your ways from the day you were created, until iniquity was FOUND in you [could not have been any man after Adam]. By the multitude of your merchandising [making deals with the other angelic-rebels], they have filled the midst of you with violence—and you have sinned. So, I cast you as a profane-thing out of the mountain of God. And I destroyed you, O covering-cherub, from the midst of those fiery-stones. Your heart was lifted up in pride, because of your [God-given-]beauty, and you corrupted your [God-given-]wisdom by reason of your brightness. And I cast you to the ground and laid you before kings; that they might gaze upon you [in your fallen-condition]. You have DEFILED your sanctuaries by the multitude of your iniquities—Yes, by the iniquities of your traffic[ing]. Therefore, I brought forth a fire out of your midst, and it devoured you. And, I brought you to ashes on the earth, in the sight of all who gazed at you. Thus, all who knew you among the people were astonished at you. And you have become a terror: And you will NOT BE any more.’" God did NOT mean that Lucifer had been annihilated—but that he would no longer be the anointed-CHERUB. Lucifer STILL EXISTED, for God WAS TALKING TO HIM. Lucifer had been positioned over an EARTHLY-kingdom, from which he and the other fallen-angels had invaded heaven. (Isaiah 14:12-15, Ezekiel 28:12-19—NKJV)

Isaiah 27:1—The future destruction of the devil: "IN THAT DAY, the LORD, with His sore, great, and strong sword, will punish leviathan, the Piercing-Serpent, even leviathan, the Crooked-Serpent; and HE WILL SLAY the DRAGON that is in the SEA [earth’s entire-population]." (The Red-Dragon of Revelation 12:3.)

But before we get into the fine-details of the-devil’s- demise, let us look at more details of his evil-character. Isaiah 27:1 identifies the devil as a SERPENT. Early on in his earth-career, the devil got tagged as a SERPENT: The reason being—the devil tempted Eve through one of Eden’s most beautiful, but shrewd, creatures—a snake.

Genesis 3:1: "The Serpent was more subtle than any other beast of the field which the LORD God had made." Genesis chapter-three proves that during his temptation of Eve, that Serpent could TALK and STAND UPRIGHT—had legs. Why else would Moses tell us THAT SERPENT TALKED TO EVE? And, why did Eve not seem surprised at the Serpent talking to her? And, why did God CURSE the Serpent—so that from then on, SNAKES SLITHERED on the ground? (Genesis 3:14, Isaiah 65:25) If snakes were already legless, the curse God pronounced on the Serpent makes little sense. Believe the Bible-record.

The obvious-point I am pointing out here is the SAME as I pointed out up front in the introduction—That Satan rarely approaches an intended-victim in-person. (He did tempt Jesus in-person, but that was rare.) The devil hid behind the Serpent to get to Eve—then used Eve to get to Adam. The devil attempted to get to Job through his wife (Job 2:9); and Peter to get to the Lord. (Mark 8:33) Satan also commissioned a fallen-angel (hiding behind religious-leaders) to assault Paul. (2 Corinthians 12:7) Religious-people are Satan’s most-useful-instruments in causing other people to fall; or to otherwise be harmed.

Job 1:6-7: "One day, the SONS OF GOD [angels that had not engaged in Lucifer’s-rebellion] came to present themselves before the LORD. Satan CAME ALSO among them. The LORD said unto Satan: ‘Where did you come from?’ [So Satan evidently showed up uninvited!] Satan answered the LORD: ‘From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.’" The same in Job 2:1-2. What is the PURPOSE of Satan’s EARTH-WALK? First Peter 5:8 answers: "Your-adversary, the devil, like a roaring-lion, walks around, SEEKING WHOM HE MAY DEVOUR." Satan is after VICTIMS—and Peter told us in 1 Peter 5:9 how to avoid becoming one of his victims.

What is the devil’s plan for his victims? John 10:10: "The thief [obviously Satan—the chief-thief] comes not, except to steal and to kill and to destroy." Satan has no other purpose than TO VICTIMIZE ALL of God’s creation. So it ought to be obvious why Satan has to camouflage his evil-actions. Just as terrorists hide behind civilians, USING them as HUMAN-SHIELDS, to protect themselves from exposure and damage, Satan also HIDES BEHIND people, whom others DO NOT SUSPECT, in order to take down both targets and shields—making victims of them both. Satan uses current-victims to make new-victims!

John 8:44: "You are of your [SPIRITUAL-]father, the devil: And the lusts of your father you also WILL TO DO. He was a murderer from the beginning [of his rebellion]; and he remained not in the truth: So there is NO truth in him. When he lies he does so from his OWN [resources]. For, he is a liar, and the father of [both lies and liars]." And Jesus said that to some Jews who had believed on Him! (John 8:31) Like father—like son is the scriptural- principle Christ established there. SATAN’S SPIRITUAL- CHILDREN act just like their SPIRITUAL-FATHER does. And Satan does have spiritual-children—multitudes of them. First John 3:10: "In this, the children of God are manifested, and the children of the devil: Whoever does NOT do righteousness IS NOT OF GOD; neither he who LOVES NOT his brother." If one IS NOT of God, then he or she IS of Satan! There is NO middle-ground. So says Matthew 6:24. And so confirms 1 John 5:19: "We know that we believers are of God, and that the whole-world lies in wickedness [under the sway of the wicked-one]. Matthew 7:13-14: Enter God’s Kingdom at the narrow gate. For, wide is the gate, and broad is the way [path], which leads to destruction; and MANY there are who go through that gate. For, strait is the gate, and narrow the way which leads to life—and few there are who find it." These passages prove that most human beings are lost!

The devil is in some way connected to every problem of humankind. Ephesians 6:12: "We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities [fallen-angels and evil-]powers, and RULERS of the DARKNESS of this world; against SPIRITUAL-wickedness in high-places."

In Paul’s instructions to Timothy, about INSTALLING church-leaders, Paul established the rule: "Not a novice [newly-born-again-believer], lest he being lifted up with PRIDE [like Lucifer was, that new-believer] fall into the devil’s-condemnation [SAME condemnation Lucifer fell into—becoming Satan—God’s-Adversary]. Moreover, he MUST have a GOOD-REPORT by those who are outside [lost-people]; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil." (1 Timothy 3:6-7) This passage ADDS to our understanding of how the devil became the devil; and a little about HOW HE OPERATES today. This world looks for any scrap of supposed-evidence they can use to PUT CHRISTIANS IN A BAD-LIGHT; so that sinners will think they are excused from obeying God. Therefore, they are more-than-willing to lead Christians into SIN, so the lost feel they can invent some kind of disclaimer, to dismiss the Gospel-message, as though it did not apply to them. The devil is obviously behind that trick. By such ploys, he can snare BOTH the saved and unsaved!

Now for the devil’s prophesied-demise. When Christ was still here, demons knew that they were condemned to eternal-punishment. Matthew 8:29: "[Those demons inhabiting their victim] cried out: ‘What have we to do with You, Jesus, You Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before the time?’" The demons questioned not the FACT of their infernal-future, but THE TIMING of it. Was Jesus bringing an early-judgment upon them?

Moreover, although MANY prophesies in the book of Revelation are yet future, the devil obviously presently- knows they WILL come to pass; and that his loose-time on earth is limited. If the demons knew about their time-limit long ago, then the devil is surely aware of it NOW! Revelation 12:12: "Woe to the inhabitants of the earth, and sea! For the devil has come down unto you, having great-wrath, because he knows that he has only a short time [to tempt mankind before he is incarcerated in the ABYSS for A THOUSAND YEARS; then released a short season; then cast into the Lake-of-Fire]." Both the devil and demons know more truth than many believers do!

Not only will Satan burn forever in that Lake-of-Fire; unrepentant-sinners will suffer that same-eternal-fate—only in different DEGREES. Matthew 25:41: "Christ will say unto those on His left-hand: ‘Depart from Me all you accursed, into the everlasting-fire; PREPARED FOR THE DEVIL [not Lucifer] AND HIS ANGELS.’" THAT DESTINY WAS NOT INTENDED FOR PEOPLE, OR EVEN ANGELS, at creation—but was later PREPARED for Satan and his angelic-rebel-rabble. But, the Lord made it clear in that passage that the Lake-of-Fire will be the eternal-abode of human-rebels the SAME as angelic-rebels. However, humans can repent in this life and be saved—although angels cannot—And multitudes of humans will not!

As for the varying-degrees, Luke 12:47-48 explains: "The servant who knew his Lord’s will, yet prepared not himself [to obey His will] WILL BE BEATEN WITH MANY STRIPES [will suffer-greatly]. But he who knew not [his Lord’s will], yet, [during his lifetime] committed things WORTHY OF STRIPES, WILL BE BEATEN WITH FEWER STRIPES [suffer less-intensely]. For to whomever much [knowledge and advantage] have been given, from him will much be required. To whom MEN have committed much, from him they will ask the more." (And GOD will do the same! That was the point Jesus was making.)

The devil will occupy the lowest and hottest-place in that FIRE-PIT; and will SUFFER the most. But ultra-evil people will ALSO be confined to the hotter-quarters. So teaches Deuteronomy 32:22: "A FIRE has been kindled in My anger, and it will BURN TO THE LOWEST-HELL. It is a fearful-thing to fall into the hands of the Living-God. (Hebrews 10:30-31) That is because: Our God is a consuming-fire." (Hebrews 12:29) Therefore,…
