Acts 1:8, Ye shall receive power. (KJV) Power, according to GK Dunamis, means more than strength or ability; it designates especially power in operation, in action. Luke in his Gospel and in Acts, emphasizes that the Holy Ghost power included the authority to drive out evil spirits and the anointing to heal the sick as the two essential signs accompanying the proclamation of the kingdom of God.

    INTRODUCTION

In the day and times that we are living in, there are daily challenges that we face as believers. Some of the challenges facing the church are institutional, ethical, doctrinal, political, cultural, religion, and mental health (e.g., anxiety; depression; guilt and shame; substance abuse; trauma; low self-esteem). They go across different faith traditions, denominations, ethnic groups, and sectors of the population. The word of the Lord shares with us in Isaiah 41:10 (NIV), So do not fear for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Jesus told His disciples not to leave Jerusalem until they received the gift of the Holy Spirit.
