LINDA
ALFREDO, Linda's brother
Single Act
Linda is standing. Next to the front door. The twenty-year-old looks at her eighteen-year-old brother, who is leafing through a magazine as he sits on the toilet bowl. As usual she leaves the toilet door open.
LINDA Where's Mum?
ALFREDO I don't know.
LINDA She was here a moment ago. I even cried.
ALFREDO You know how Mom is. Now she's here, then she's not
LINDA Damn it. These don't work anymore (touches wet cheeks)
ALFREDO You have to snoop on them
LINDA Maybe if I look around I'll find a few strips of it.
ALFREDO Try
Linda wanders around the room. She finds a rag. She brings it to her mouth
LINDA It's still warm. She must not have been gone long
ALFREDO It warms you up
LINDA I would have preferred ice.
ALFREDO Just think that yesterday I
