I am both a head teacher and a writer. Before becoming a teacher I worked as a farm labourer and I delivered bread door to door. I was also a community service volunteer, a hopeless bank clerk, and toiled for nearly three years in television. I have taught in schools in London, Madrid, Asturias and Córdoba in Spain.
