Momma, what is going on over there in the city? came a kind, curious little voice in the early hours of the morning. It’s not the beginning of the Sabbath, is it?

No, Ellie, the Sabbath doesn’t start until sun down, responded an older, loving voice.

Are they doing an offering then? There sure are a lot of people and soldiers for an offering.

Actually, from what I see, today an offering will take place—just not one our kind is used to. It appears that today a Man will be taking our place as a sacrifice.

    What’s a sacrifice, Momma?

A sacrifice and an offering are the same today. It is something the people give to the Creator for their wrong behavior. It’s a way to say they are sorry and ask for forgiveness. Or they give something in order to say thank you for something the Creator has done for them.

How is that Man taking our place?

"Our kind have played a role since the beginning of creation and the offerings of the people.
