Chapter 1  Have A Nice Day Sir

Monday morning almost all of us have dreaded that day. There was one who did not have any dread. He had looked forward to the day for longer than anyone could remember. No one actually recalled why he was locked up behind the huge fortified gates of the ancient building.

Sartan the voice of the Gate keeper called out. Front and center Sar-tan. Hurry now!

The escort guard pushed the inmate and prodded him along. The inmate knowing it was indeed his big day; was readily walking at a fast clip not quite fast enough for Sgt. Poorly. The inmate looked over his shoulder and mumbled to the pusher.

I think I have something for that rush you’re in. It will be what you’re asking for and it’s just for you

The guard in such a rush was determined to get his work assignments completed on time. It was his evening to watch the big game and He hated to miss the start. Sgt. Poorly wanted to be there in case his heroes passed the ball or passed gas either way he was always most interested.

SAR-TAN! the keeper called again this time the annoyance was clearly reflected in his tone. When the Inmate finally arrived at the office of the Gate keeper he spoke.

    Present you’re Honor

    He then stood politely by while the officer scanned his file. After some hums ah-haw and throat clearing keeper asked;

Why are you being kept here Sartan my records don’t go back that far. What did you do?

Well, your Honor it was all just some silly mistakes not much to it really. I was wrongly accused such a fuss over some fruit. I didn’t do anything except talk to a woman. Then before I knew it there was a lot of fire falling from the sky. The woman was at fault not me

The Gate Keeper frowned and moved about from side to side in his chair.

Well there must have been something else what was it?

You honor all my long life I have been hounded by the law as you can see, I am a mild-mannered Gentleman Sir

Gate Keeper cleared his throat again and looked down his glasses at the prisoner. He somehow sensed it was a mistake to release this man and questioned him a little more.

How long have you been here Sartan he asked. The record seems to be missing some of that information too.

The prisoner knew he needed to be on his best behavior and was still polite.

Oh I have been here a very long time your honor you might say I was around for the original sin. But as you can no doubt see this is the day I get out.

Not yet you aren’t Gate Keeper said.

The prisoner gave the Keeper a nice warm smile then replied.

No your Honor I am not out yet but I trust you to do the right thing. It says on the paper I have done my time and I feel my ways have been amended Sir.

To the Gate Keeper It did seem that the prisoner was completely reformed and despite that nagging feeling he had it would be prudent to release him. So in compliance with the order of the law Inmate # 1 was unchained and set free.

    And as he went thru
