INTRODUCTION

piritual mapping makes or gives us a better understanding of the state of things happening around us. It makes us aware of what is going on in our families,

without knowing it, our lives will be affected. Past events have tangible effects in our lives, we need to learn about them. Otherwise we will not know why we are going through certain things.

So I came to Jerusalem, and was there three days. And I arose in the night, I and some few men with me; neither told I any man what my God had put in my heart to do at Jerusalem: neither was there any beast with me, save the beast that I rode upon. And I went out by night by the gate of the valley, even before the dragon well, and to the dung port, and viewed the walls of Jerusalem, which were broken down, and the gates thereof were consumed with fire. 7en I went on to the gate of the fountain, and to the king’s pool: but there was no place for the beast that was under me to pass. 7en went I up in the night by the brook, and viewed the wall, and turned back, and entered by the gate of the valley, and so returned. However, it is advisable to conduct the spiritual mapping clandestinely. Please do not disclose it to anyone, unless someone who is genuine and will not betray you. I urge you to be secretive like Nehemiah. The principalities did not know what he was doing. He took certain people to survey the damage and how to repair it.

Then I told them of the hand of my God which was good upon me; as also the king’s words that he had spoken unto me. And they said, Let us rise up and build. So they strengthened their hands for this good work.(Nehemiah 2:18)

Spiritual mapping gives us information about the damage and a precise way to eradicate it. When dealing with spiritual matters it is advisable to handle with precision and avoid hit and miss methods. Information equips you with accurate understanding.

And it came to pass, when they had done circumcising all the people, that they abode in their places in the camp, till they were whole. And the Lord said unto Joshua,This day have I rolled away the reproach of Egypt from off you. Wherefore the name of the place is called Gilgal unto this day.( Joshua 5:8-9)

The children of Israel forgot the covenant of Abraham due to the reason of bondage. They did not circumcise for the duration of four hundred years, until God told Joshua to remind them.

Spiritual mapping helps a believer prepare and strategies to engage in a spiritual warfare. The Scriptures makes us understand that the twelve spies were given thorough instructions. This was so to ensure that they will know what to do and what not to do. They were sent to conduct a spiritual investigation.

And Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said unto them, Get you up this way southward, and go up into the mountain: And see the land, what it is, and the people that dwelleth therein, whether they be strong or weak, few or many; And what the land is that they dwell in, whether it be good or bad; and what cities they be that they dwell in, whether in tents, or in strong holds; And what the land is, whether it be fat or lean, whether there be wood therein, or not. And be ye of good courage, and bring of the fruit of the land. Now the time was the time of the firstripe grapes.(Numbers 13:17-20)

Please note that spiritual investigations are done secretly, you do not just announce it to several people. Therefore when doing your spiritual mapping conduct it on the need to know basis, be cautious. Joshua did the same when investigating the City of Jericho. It was a covert operation on a need to know basis.
