FOREWORD

An inevitable weapon that every wise man needs to combat an enemy successfully is a full and clear understanding of the nature, weapons and the strategies of the enemy. There is no doubt that Satan is the terrible source of all the enemies of man. He is man’s main problem, and this is more so in the case of the Christian who Satan has identified as the allies of God.

A more serious dimension to man’s problem with Satan is the total lack of knowledge of Satan among all, especially Christians. Beyond knowing that there is a being called Satan; man (Christian) knows nothing more!

In the areas of what is Satan, his limitations, his strength, his operational mode and the symptoms of his presence in man’s life, and how man can be freed from his hold, man knows very little or nothing. Yet we are quick to acknowledge and rehearse Hosea’s statement that People of God perish for lack of knowledge.

The best, most infallible source of knowledge of Satan is the Bible which, most unfortunately most men don’t read or, more regrettably don’t catch its spiritual message because their own level of spiritual development is too low. In this wise, gifted Christians can be of help when they put in black and white their understanding of Satan’s workers and the antidotes.

It is in this wise that Venerable S. K. Olawoyin’s work: Tell Satan Off is most valuable. At first sight, the title seems to suggest a rather, shallow treatment of Satan’s operations and limitations. It seems it is an easy job to discard Satan’s but the very first line lures the reader to read the next and the next and next etc. This is so because Venerable Olawoyin’s style of writing the book reveals a very high level of inspiration. What is more, every claim in the whole work is solidly founded upon God’s word—as recorded in the Holy Bible.

Reading Ven. Olawoyin’s work in this book will more than adequately give the reader a valid foundation for combating the evil machinations of Satan through appreciable working through Bible references.

The book is highly recommended to whoever desire to Tell Satan off without unmitigated dependence on priests and prophets.

PREFACE

I N the year 1990, God started using me in ministering to people to receive the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Alongside with this, God also started using me to exorcise demons.

And for the next five years God was teaching me, by His Spirit, something I had never had the knowledge of.

Along this line, I started having mini seminars for some youths in our Church(St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Yemetu, Ibadan in Oyo State), of those things I have written down from the teachings of the Holy Spirit.

These teachings were so intense to the extent that when I later came across some of the books authored by Dr. Rebecca Brown; it was as if I had been reading her books all my life. I made some illustrations in one of my jotters; to my surprise, I was like dubbing some of illustrations in her books. The keys to my illustrations were also the same key she used for hers. It does happen when I write on a subject through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, on many occasions, when I later come across books on related subjects written by revered Christian authors, it looked like I have read those books before: (do you know what I do about those books? I just buy them to learn more). In fact, I have written vocabularies in English that I have never come across before I wrote them. How mysterious are the works of the Holy Spirit!

The ‘thing’ was contagious, many in our youth Church were caught up in this spiritual awakening, in fact we really experienced God’s visitation those years.

Then the devil came in with his devices and vices. He began using people to stop this move of God. The devil didn’t use the members of the Parish Church Council (P.C.C.), he didn’t use our vicar, he didn’t even use the nominal youths in our Church, but our spiritual leaders in the youth Church.

After the service on a particular Sunday, our coordinator, after consultation with the executive members, announced that there should not be prayer of deliverance for anybody from that day forward, everyone should go home after the service (usually we used to minster to
