Preface
I was born into a Christian family. My faith and belief are strengthened in the Lord, the maker of Heaven and Earth. Growing up, we had two prayer sessions: one upon waking up every morning and one before going to bed daily. Before traveling anywhere, my father would say a special prayer for safe travels. I learned earlier in life that prayer and faith can move mountains. Mountains, my daddy explained, represented any obstacle or trouble that may rise along the way. He also explained that God’s WORD is the rock of ages and never fails. He instilled in us that when we call and pray to God, in faith and trust, believing that God will answer.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Hebrew 11:1 (KJV)
Through faith we understand the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
Hebrew 11: 3 (KJV)
Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
Psalm 124: 8 (KJV)

Introduction
This novel is my attestation of the goodness of the Lord during the desperate moments of my life. My faith has taught me to depend on God in troubling times and He will answer my distress. The purpose of this book is to encourage you to have faith and trust in God. It’s to show that prayer is the KEY.
Psalm 120:1 (KJV) says In my distress I cried unto the Lord, and He heard me.
Psalm 89: 1 (KJV) (My Testament and Testimony)
I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.
The Lord is my strength and my salvation.
Chapter 1
Miracle In N I C U
It was a beautiful fall evening full of sunshine in Atlanta, Georgia. I had no clue what was in store for me. Everything was moving along great. I was looking forward to finishing the cooking of my dinner and enjoying the meal with my family. I was in the kitchen listening to Nigerian Afro beat music while preparing dinner. I was dancing along to the rhythm of the beat. At this time, I was heavily pregnant with my fifth child, a boy. I was due any day. My hopes were that he would arrive on Thanksgiving Day. Well, I was in for a shock. Suddenly, without warning, I went into intense labor. I dropped everything and my husband rushed me to the hospital in preparation for delivery. My previous deliveries happened very fast. They were straight forward without any unnecessary rancor of labor pains or sufferings. In the beginning, the labor was progressing well, just like the previous four. I was so excited to welcome my last baby into the world. I had already decided on no more pregnancies due to my husband’s complaints that five children were enough. (That’s a story for another time).
My mother had eight children and I always fantasized about having six children. My preference was four boys and two beautiful girls, but it wasn’t meant to be. There’s an old adage that says, Man proposes but God disposes.
I ended up with five boys. It would have been six boys, but I lost my first pregnancy at almost four months. My pregnancies were always easy. No drama or morning sickness. I will say that I had a lot of food cravings. Each pregnancy had different food cravings from Dr. Pepper to Chocolate and eating peanuts.
Jumping back into this birth story, I had already given birth to four boys. This baby made son #5. I was lying in bed chewing on ice chips and the labor was going effortless. Things were in
