    30 Days Intercessory Prayerbook - S. Mariah

    1 Peter 2:9 ESV

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light..

TODAY IS THE FIRST day of the new month, let your heart be merry and praise the Lord for all that you had last month and all that you still have for this new month! It is always right to start our new month with a renewed gratitude towards our Great God. Don’t you agree?

    Let us pray:

Oh Lord God, our Provider for all things. Please help me to remember your gracefulness in my family as I lift up my son(s) __________and/or daughter(s) ____________to you. As your word affirmed us that ‘we are your chosen race, your royal priesthood, your holy nation, your very own possession’ - help us to sense your calling in our heart, speak to each one of us right now that we will know how to honour and glorify your Great name on this earth. Ignite your vision in our deepest heart, awaken us to do Your will. Yes, Your will and not ours.

Thank you Lord for calling us out of darkness and keeping us in your marvellous light - I am therefore on behalf of my children, I call out your great name for their protection:

    - turn their eyes upon you to see your light

    - with your gentle hands upon them, keep them safe from the evil one

    - forgive their ignorance and (intentional/unintentional) sins

    - heal their hurts and emotional wounds

For all that we have, comes only from the Provider which is our God, Amen.

Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.

There will be times we just lost for words in our prayer, really struggling with what words to use in our plea to God for our children, seemingly out-of-control that we as parents might feel desperately helpless. Our growing concerns toward our children can drive us to a point where every turn seems like a dead-end to us. We couldn’t figure out a way to help our children at all.

Take heart, the Bible told us that Jesus is interceding for you.

Look up and know that God is watching you and your family. He cares so much for your every needs. If something griefs you, it will also grief Him too. For you are His, your children also. It is okay to not know how to pray...

Yes! The Spirit lives in us is actually the one helping and prompting us what to pray for and how to pray....It doesn’t matter if we know or don’t know how and what to pray, we as God’s children is the ‘channel’ for God’s Spirit to work through us in petition and in groaning for what is concerning God.

Therefore, we are confident to pray that we know God cares and He will guide us when we are lost in words. He carries our griefs and sorrows without ceasing and so do our beloved children.

Dear Lord, I will cast my cares right
