HOW TO BRING YOUR MILLION-DOLLAR VISION TO LIFE - Bernard Shore
Introduction
Did you know the number of patents granted worldwide increased from 406,582 in 1990 to 1,756,500 in 2021?¹ That is a 332 percent increase! This considerable rise is due to the geometrical expansion of the technology market. As a result, patent offices worldwide are busier than ever, accepting and declining patent requests.
The capacity for creating is shared in measure by everyone, but the ability to apply creativity to market dynamics, license, and cash in on inventions and inventive concepts is known to a few. Anyone can be an independent inventor. For more than 200 years, independent inventors have been the backbone of America's economic strength. They don't have to be taught how to think outside the box;
they do it naturally. Independent inventors are young, old, male, female, well-educated, uneducated, and from all ethnicities.
There is no requirement to be an independent inventor other than to have a creative way to solve a problem and the tenacity and drive to see it through. You're not alone if you are surprised to learn that most great ideas spring from the minds of independent inventors and entrepreneurs, most often working alone in garages or basement workshops. I'm talking about those ingenious commercial products and services we quickly demand—those remarkable innovations that change how we live, how well we live, and even how long we live.
Of more than six and a half million patents granted in the United States since 1790, a few have had an enormous impact on our lives while at the same time bringing fame and fortune to their inventors. But the vast majority of inventions dreamed up during the last two hundred or so years have created no recognition or financial gain for their inventors. You can bet that when the inventors applied for their patents, the inventions seemed like incredible ideas. But then something happened or, more accurately, did not happen.
Contributions from a variety of disciplines were essential to this work. The chapters in this book on protecting your intellectual property are provided only as a primer. Intellectual property laws, regulations, filing fees, and so forth are constantly changing, pushed and pulled by technologies, marketplaces, and special interests. These chapters are not designed to replace competent legal counsel, which I encourage you to seek.
This book is unique in that it not only demystifies the process of taking a product to market but also debunks many myths about inventing. This knowledge frees the inventor from many self-imposed obstacles. This book is designed to teach you how to pull off, approach, and sell your concept. You will learn how to get companies to pay for your ideas under favorable terms and conditions.
This book will help you overcome failure and make millions of dollars with your invention. It is not enough to sit by and wait for things to happen; success comes to those who are proactive, not reactive, to people who dare to go.
Do you have a great idea but don't know how to turn it into a successful invention? Do you have a concept you believe has the potential to be a game-changer but are unsure of how to bring it to market and ward off intellectual theft? Do you want to be one of the inventors? If your answer is Yes,
you're not alone. The reality is that many people have ideas, but few have the knowledge and resources to bring them to life. As a result, most ideas that become inventions are few and far between. But it shouldn't be!
In another world, having a good idea is all it takes to create a successful invention. But in our world, the road from idea to invention can be daunting, full of legal mines, rigorous bureaucratic procedures, and financial obstacles. Hence, most ideas never make it past the idea stage and those that do often fail to gain traction due to ignorance of the patent process.
If you're one of the lucky ones with a solid idea, you can turn it into a patented reality with the proper guidance. Unfortunately, luck is a scarce commodity in the patent world, so you shouldn't rely on it. For the uninitiated, patenting remains a herculean mystery, and the ability to create, license, market, and cash in isn't widely understood. This book will be very resourceful because it will show you all you need to make your idea a patented reality.
Whether you're an aspiring inventor or an entrepreneur looking to protect your intellectual property, this guide provides a step-by-step blueprint for creating, patenting, and commercializing your ideas. From fanning your idea into a viable concept to understanding the basics of patent law to navigate the patent application process, this book covers all the necessary steps to take your idea from concept to reality.
With this book as your guide, you'll have all the information you need to turn your idea into a successful invention and bring it to market. Investing in this book is a must for anyone looking to break into the world of inventing and patenting. With its proven blueprint for success, you'll gain the knowledge and confidence to turn your ideas into patented realities.
This book is also useful to inventors who seek to invest in new concepts and creations. They will have an overview of the rigorous procedures for patenting intellectual property, which will help them make informed decisions.
So why should you read this book? Because a great idea is worth investing in, especially one that has the potential to make you set for life. Why leave your idea to luck when you can create something profitable and pioneering? This book will teach you how to market your concept, get financial backing, protect your intellectual baby, and turn it into a cash cow. Vital resources are in the Appendix section at the end of the book for your convenience.
It is your birthright to break the
