The Grateful Gardener: God First Made a Garden
()
About this ebook
In this hectic world we created for ourselves, the author says "think about it." When God created the world, once the explosive inner core moved and shifted to reveal the great oceans and landmasses, things calmed and cooled. God himself said it was very good (Genesis 1:31). And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. When we travel to beautiful, peaceful places all over the world, such as our national parks, the only disturbance to contend with is the human invasion.
Christ Jesus retreated to the garden many times. There he found peace and renewal. We can find the same if we take the time to look.
The author joins beautiful photos and thought-provoking poems to allow the reader to escape into the environment for which we were intended into. So if you don't have time to create or visit a beautiful garden or travel to scenic places, if you plan but never have time to walk in the woods or wade in a creek, if sunrise and sunsets have passed before your workday ends, just pick up a book.
Just as a babe in the womb is safe and protected from the busy world just inches away, taking time to think peaceful thoughts and view beautiful scenes can be just a page away.
Verses used are from the King James Version Bible.

About the Author
And God called the dry land earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas; and God saw that it was good.
And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
—Genesis 1:10, 11, 12
The Grateful Gardener
Lord, I just want you to know I'm thankful
That you gave me the gardener's lifeblood
I love every minute spent working the soil
From planting the seed to watching it bud…
You have been kind to teach me much about life
Through these many years I've lived on my knees
Letting me feel the joy of your presence in prayer
Giving me patience to pull these persistent weeds…
I have learned you desired our lives to be sweet
By building a beautiful garden here on earth
Even when we sinned and messed everything up
You sent your Son to pay for our new birth…
In my little garden hidden away from strife
You've given me love worldly people cannot know
I see that every living thing has a purpose
To live in peace so that it can thrive and grow…
Now as sunset drifts across these gardener's hands
And another day of toil has come to an end
I look forward to seeing your garden in Heaven
When my work here is over, save me a spot to tend…
The Perfect Place
Search all the stars and planets for the perfect place
A garden of tranquility hanging way out in space
Heat it with a blazing ball of fire that also gives light
Maybe a paler moon at times so there will be night
Make sure it has soft colors that will please the eye
Perhaps shades of green overlooked by a vast blue sky
Meadows to run in with
