    Dedication

Dedicated to all young and old ex-Atlanteans everywhere!

    Introduction

Our book ‘The Atlantean Initiate’ about Leda, a young girl and her discoveries at the priestess college in ancient times seems to have intrigued many of our readers and they have asked for more!

Subsequently, this is a prequel to that tale about Atlantis at its height, when psychic skills were considered normal and young men and women could roam the known world healing others and spreading knowledge.

We offer our ideas with much love, Light and hope.

    Chapter One: Alita

Alita was born in the capital city Medea of Atlantis on a sunny spring day. Her name meant ‘little winged girl’ and she was the apple of her mother Miril’s and merchant father Phylos’ dark eyes.

She was a brown, rosy baby with curly dark hair and large brown eyes and a happy disposition. She was ceremoniously baptised in the giant temple of Poseidon and her family members offered gifts and blessings upon her for ‘a fortunate and loved life!’ which was the aim of all Atlantean citizens.

Her Aunt Chloe asked for blessings of ‘a sweet voice with a passion that made people listen’.

Her Uncle Darios blessed her with ‘beauty and strength’.

Her Grandmother Ireni with - ‘wisdom and foresight.’

And her Grandfather Isocrates with - ‘a love of life and plenty of love!’

As the first born in the family, she grew to be an athletic, friendly and smart young girl who gently bossed her two sisters and three brothers with a loving touch.

They admired her skills in running, javelin-throwing and vaulting and tried to emulate her, while her teachers admired her mental prowess at solving mathematical problems, riddles and her thirst for geography.

I want to sail the seven seas and see all the wonders of the world! she exclaimed to all that would hear her.

And at the mention of marrying and having a family, she turned up her pretty nose and stated categorically - I don’t want a husband to boss me! I don’t want children to change their dirty napkins and feed. I want to be free and visit strange lands and have great adventures! And then, as she grew into a beautiful, young woman, she obstinately kept to her childish vows.

At seven, she attended the local school and a patient teacher taught her and a dozen male students history, geography and reading and writing. Most girls stayed at home and developed their household skills of cooking, cleaning and sewing. What need had they to read and write?

But Alita loved learning and was a good if inquisitive student, who always wanted a fact proved before she fully believed it. When a tutor told her that a feather and a rock would strike the ground at the same time if thrown from a high building, she had to climb a statue of Poseidon and sitting on his wide marble shoulders try the experiment. And it was proven!
