THE COMET THAT PRETENDED TO BE A STAR
Generational lies
They told me that
I was born with her,
lie after lie
they claimed it was mine,
but while I was growing up
the world confirmed that they were lying,
freedom has a price,
more expensive than I thought,
so high that some
to death she would take them,
for being different
or by sleeping with the truth,
freedom, freedom,
very expensive you have come out,
my own have died
because they were born
without you.
Confidence
Coward,
that's the word that describes you,
you took advantage of my honesty,
played with the most precious thing I gave you,
you mistreated it and turned it into
a beast for your entertainment,
you shattered it and didn't have
the slightest hint of remorse,
and you didn't realize that without it,
the us
would cease to exist.
Mother Nature
––––––––
I thought you were her,
Mother Nature herself,
the more we were together,
the more convinced I became,
every inch of you told me so,
and I, like a fool, believed it.
––––––––
Your skin, white as snow,
told me so,
your eyes, shining like stars
in the darkest night,
told me so,
and I, like a fool, believed it.
––––––––
Your incomparable freckles
invited me to trace
a route across your skin,
your ruthless curves, like mountains,
told me so,
and I,
