Jon and I didn’t have the same major. I was a linguistics student and he majored in American History. We were both grad students at the University of Buffalo and met through his previous roommate Steve who is a linguist. I met him at parties and stuff, and he seemed like a really nice guy. That was when we were all in our first year of grad school and most of us were living on campus.

After, most of us decided that living on campus was way too fucking expensive and decided to get an apartment nearby. Steve and Jon were supposed to get an apartment together.
