Mated To The Bad Alpha I Hate - Eyitalent

    CHAPTER 72

Dylan hissed in disgust as his eyes caught sight of Mona and Mark in the orchard. He considers them fools for acting so loved up every time. It had been more than two weeks since Mona had sought her release, almost as if she was trying to make him pay for refusing her. Dylan sees both of them practically in every corner of the packhouse, making out or holding hands.

He couldn't stop them since he was the one who had once again restricted Mona from moving around too much. Moreso, Mark is a free citizen and an essential part of the pack's progress. Being the reasonable Alpha that he is considered to be, there is a limit to how petty he can act. If it were up to Dylan, he would have ordered Mark to stay away from the packhouse and never return.

What kept him on edge the most was why he felt angered by the presence of both of them. Dylan couldn't understand why he felt some odd way seeing them. For the past two weeks, he had not had any form of argument or altercation with Mona, which was evident before Mark came along. He didn't realize how much he enjoyed being the cause of her nerve wreck until now that she is so in love and can't keep away from Mark.

Snorting in irritation, he went on his intended way. Just as he turned towards the hallway to the study, Dylan saw Mona leaping on her feet like an excited child towards him. She was so engrossed in her moment that she didn't notice him.

Do you mind keeping your eyes open by the hallway? You aren't the only one passing by. Who jumps with their eyes closed? Dylan grumbled.

Mona opened her eyes, blinking them at him. Relaxing her breath, she exhaled loudly. I see you need some actual happiness in your life. Because you obviously don't recognize it when you see it.

Dylan scoffed, you are getting fooled by someone you barely know. I understand you are gullible, but I never thought it to be this bad.

Mona looked offended, this is none of your concern. At least he showed me how much love he has been ready to offer since the beginning, but you rejected me the very first time you met me.

Dylan smacked his lips proudly, someone sounds like she is still hurt by my rejection.

Mona stared at him in disgust, how can you derive joy in hurting someone so bad?

You never knew me until that night. How can someone who you don't know hurt you?

You were my mate! I didn't need a reason to love you; it had been implanted in me naturally.

I don't feel sorry for you, but I might feel so now that you are putting your hopes in Mark. Dylan turned to leave. He remembered something and stared back at her. Also, stop acting like the pack's whore and have your show of affection done in a more closeted place. Rumours are flying around. Have you no shame?

The shattered look on her face had Dylan feeling very happy with himself. Walking away from her, he whistled happily, feeling on top of the planet.

Mona sucked in her lower lip, trying to prevent the tears from falling. She should have known that the joy she had been feeling for the past few weeks wouldn't last long as Alpha Dylan stayed close to her. There would be nothing like real peace of mind for her.

Wiping her eyes to keep the tears from falling, she made her way to her room with her head bowed.

And how is the lover girl doing? Sansan's voice trailed her from behind.

Mona sniffed, trying to keep her face straight. Hello, Sansan.

Sansan took a closer look at Mona. What happened? Is Mark alright?

She waved her hand, he is fine, and I am fine too.

Sansan shook her head in refusal, you don't look it to me. You were so excited about seeing Mark today. Why are you looking so gloomy now?

Mona glanced around the empty hallway, worried about someone showing up and hearing their conversation. She held Sansan by the hand, leading her to her room.

Did you have an argument with the alpha? Sansan inquired as they sat on the bed together

How would you know that? Mona looked surprised.

She sighed, he is the only one who could have you looking this sad.

He said I was being fooled by Mark, and it made me really worried.

I am sure he only said it to spite you.

What if he is right? Mark asked me to be his mate today. Mona said.

Sansan clapped her hands in excitement, that's a good thing! Did you say yes?

Mona nodded, her face looking solemn, yes, I did.

Why then are you bothered? You don't look happy, Mona.

I need to get my freedom from here. I can't keep being held down in this packhouse any longer. I want to be free, to visit my parents and settle down with Mark.

You think the Alpha would refuse you?

Yes, he refused me the first time.

What if you write a letter to your parents to give to your Alpha? Probably, they would be able to beg him to let you live happily.

Mona sniffed back the tears, what if I never get to be free, and Mark ends up with someone else?

Sansan pulled her closer, he won't leave you for anyone, and you surely would be free. I have no doubt that whatever danger you were in before now is over. And I can assure you he just wants you to be safe.

He doesn't want to see me. That's how much he despises me.

That's enough, don't ruin your day with thoughts of him. Write a letter home, and whatever happens, would sort itself.

Mona smiled, you are always so positive about everything.

All thanks to you. Sansan embraced her tightly.

    Thank you.

You are my only true friend Mona, and I cherish you.

I'm glad to be your friend.

They laughed heartily as they let go of each other, leaning into the bed.

    CHAPTER 73

With a raised shoulder and swollen ego, Dylan strolled into the study. Never has he felt so good about putting someone in their place before. He could sense the uncertainty dancing in Mona's eyes the moment he bad-mouthed Mark.

He is probably against happiness; since he takes sheer joy in being a bully. It surprised Dylan that Foden didn't acknowledge him as he walked in. His nose was buried in what appeared to be a letter.

Are your lovers sending in some good notes now? Why do you look so serious? He asked, sitting in his chair.

Foden looked up with his face scrunched up in worry. Something is wrong.

Seeing Foden's face, Dylan's countenance changed, and he sat upright in his chair. Is it concerning the pack?

Foden nodded in affirmation; he wasn't certain how to break the information he had heard to Dylan. He worried they might take a rash decision and end up having regrets about it.

Will you say something already, Foden? Dylan bellowed, sounding impatient.

I heard from an undisclosed source that Douglas is coming for the royalty stone and intends to kill you and probably rule over Lycan pack.

Dylan snorted, that's a big joke.

No, it's not a joke, Dylan. Douglas seems to be closing in on us. He has also heard about you keeping Mona under your wing. He had been frantic about her getting away from him and had sworn to get Mona whenever possible. Douglas refuses to believe that she isn't your betrothed and that there is nothing between you both. You saving her only implies she means so much to you. Now, he is coming for not just your head but everyone here. What do we do, and how are we sure this isn't bait to lure you out? Foden asked.

Nodding in approval, Dylan tried to understand what Foden was saying. Douglas has always been known to be very tricky in his dealings and would do just about anything to bait his enemy. He had almost thought Douglas was over hurting Mona by now, but as always, Douglas has proven to be unforgiving. Not letting go of things was a trait that would stick with him forever.

It bothers Dylan that Douglas is still trying so hard to get the royalty stone. Suppose Dylan acts on the rumour and launches an attack on the dark moon pack; it might end up being the Lycan pack's doom. Dylan rubbed at his forehead, feeling a headache creep through his headlines.

We don't need to brood over this too much. How about we send a spy to the dark moon pack and find out what exactly is running through Douglas's mind? Foden advised.

There would be a need for someone with a convincing personality to spy on the pack, or else it would be a failed mission.

Do you have anyone in mind?

Nobody, and it's driving me nuts. It's obvious knowledge that none of the spies would like to be sent to the dark moon pack. Douglas's brutality from the past still lingers in their minds.

Foden thought for a moment. I know this might sound inappropriate, but I think Mark might be the right person to send. I heard the baker for the packhouse died recently, and they haven't found another baker. This might be a perfect disguise for him to get into the pack.

What if he refuses? Dylan inquired

Now, that's another thing to worry about. I guess I would have to do it myself then.

Don't even think of it! Douglas would have your fur sent to me the next day as soon as he sets his eyes on you.

The room fell quiet as they were both lost in thought. Dylan tried to find another means by which they could get what they wanted. At the same time, Foden's suggestion seemed like the only one that did seem right. Even though he tries to hide it, having Mark far away for a while by keeping him and Mona apart would actually please Dylan. At the same time, it was his duty to protect the pack from any impending danger, and that would require some sacrifices. Someone heading to the dark moon pack to spy on behalf of the whole pack is one of those sacrifices. But then, Mark is one of the best Lycan spies. He does his job well and has never for once disappointed him. However, this case was different. There was no way Mark would want to head to the enemy's pack unguarded, knowing how much of a maniac Douglas was.

A thought struck Dylan, this should sound more convincing. How about we increase Mark's rank if he goes to the dark moon pack to act as a spy?

Foden sat upright, it doesn't necessarily have to be Mark. We would send one of the other spies.

    Why not him?

    Why him?

We need him on this, Foden.

Why does it feel like you are trying to send him off because you can't stand his presence with Mona?

Dylan gritted his teeth, holding back his words. There was no way he would be pushed to admit that was the case. I don't know what you are talking about. Thought this was all about getting the dark moon pack's secret on what they are up to.

Watching him with a close look, Foden sighed. I know you too well, Dylan. You are beginning to feel some type of way towards Mona but still refuse to admit it. I saw the spark in your eyes the moment I mentioned Mark. This is a dangerous mission.

Then what are you suggesting then? I thought we were just thinking aloud on a trustworthy spy. Why would you turn it towards that angle? Dylan looked livid.

Foden gulped, I am sorry for accusing you that way. Pardon my manner, Alpha.

Dylan stood up, directing a vicious glare at Foden. You should really be thankful that you are my friend! He said, storming out of the study.

Foden twisted his mouth; he knew Dylan was only putting on a facade to hide the truth. No one knows Dylan better than him.

    CHAPTER 74

Bending to pluck out the fresh tomatoes sprouted in the garden, Kate smiled pleasantly at the plant. It reminded her of how red her daughter Mona can get, just like the tomato, whenever her face flushes. Kate chuckled to herself.

Someone seems happy. Jack cooed in her ear.

Kate leaned back into him, laughing brightly, just had a thought on our daughter. She would have loved this tomato.

Jack nodded, she would have. I am just glad she is happy now.

I am more excited knowing she has finally found the one she loves and who loves her back, Kate added.

Mona had written to them about her newfound relationship with Mark, and they couldn't be more joyous. It made the both of them really happy that Mona finally could settle, and they also didn't need to worry about her anymore. From their findings, they had heard about Mark, a renowned baker in the Lycan pack. Also, an eligible bachelor who has all the requirements to be a good lover and husband.

Do you think she would return soon? Asked Kate.

Jack shrugged, she should. Since she has finally found a mate, I expect the Alpha to let her go.

Smiling, Kate sighed. From the look of things, she would only come around to say hello to us. It looks like her fate is sealed to settle in the Lycan pack.

I really do not mind as long as my girl is happy.

They both headed back into the house, with Kate arranging the harvested tomatoes in a bowl to make a paste. A rasp knock then came on the door.

I will get it, Jack said, heading to the door. When he opened it, his face brightened, seeing it was a messenger.

A letter from you, sir. The messenger said, handing the enclosed letter to him.

Thank you. Said jack after receiving the letter. It's a letter from Mona. He announced to his wife as he walked towards the kitchen.

With eagerness written all over her face, Kate wiped her hands on a napkin as Jack opened the letter. The look on his face had her scampering towards his side to see the letter's content.

    *

    "Dear father and mother,

I am not in the least happy writing this to you. It appears the Lycan Alpha is hell-bent on seeing me sad. Mark has asked for my hand in marriage, and I am willing to settle with him.

However, the Alpha says he wouldn't let me off just yet because the said enemy is still after me. Despite telling him Mark would protect me, all that I need to do is leave the confines of the packhouse and move in with Mark.

I don't know what to do anymore; what if I never get free, and Mark ends up with someone else? Please save me from this hell hole. If there is any way you can ask Alpha Simba for help, it would be of great help to me.

I will be awaiting your response.

    Love you.

    Mona."

    *

This doesn't look good, Kate mumbled.

Jack bit on his lower lip, I am beginning to think there is more to this than meets the eye. Why won't he just let her go?

Kate scoffed, a bad man is who he is. He obviously hates seeing people happy. Do you think Alpha Simba could attend to us today?

He would. We should be on our way now before we miss him. Advised Jack.

Their mood went from elated to sour, and the thought of their daughter losing a chance at finding love again all because of one man worried them.

The Alpha was prepared to meet with pack members who had any form of complaints by the time they got there. Simba rose to his feet at the sight of the old couple. He couldn't measure the respect he had for them.

It's been a while since I last saw you both. It's nice to have you around. He said to them with a smile, ushering them to sit. The look on their faces told otherwise that it wasn't exactly a pleasant visit. Is everything okay, omega Jack?

Jack sighed, feeling embarrassed that they couldn't handle things on their own except be a bother to the already busy Alpha. I am so sorry we are always here to burden you with our problems. But we have no one else to run to. Please read this. He handed the letter to Simba.

After reading through the letter's contents, Simba looked up at them, do you think he is being wicked refusing Mona her freedom?

Kate looked taken aback, Definitely Alpha. How else does one explain such cruelty? He wouldn't offer her love and still won't let her go ahead with whom is ready.

Simba sighed, I need you both to understand that the enmity between the Lycan pack and Dark moon pack is beyond a mere restriction. Alpha Douglas of the Dark moon pack is one of the cruellest Alpha that the southern wolf tribe has ever encountered. Dylan isn't all that intense; he is just a bad boy, but far better than Douglas and whatever he is doing now. It's him protecting your daughter from falling victim to the cruel Alpha's attack.

But she needs to live her life! No one is saying she should return home a must, but he should let her be with her man. Jack insisted.

She being with the said man might put the both of them in danger, Simba explained.

Isn't the misunderstanding of her getting kidnapped because the Alpha thought she was Dylan's mate? It's different now, and she is with someone else. Kate added.

Douglas is after your daughter for escaping and would kill her for even being rescued by Dylan. Nothing would change his mind from hurting her. He told them squarely.

Kate and Jack sighed heavily, uncertain of what else to say. There was no way it sounded fair that their daughter would have to live the rest of her life in fear.

Simba watched the countenance of the parents; he might have sounded harsh, but the truth remains that the girl was better off staying in the Lycan packhouse. At the same time, he understands how they feel. It won't be right for him not to do anything.

You know what, you both shouldn't worry. I would write alpha Dylan a letter. Simba assured them.

The both of them let out a sigh of relief as they looked towards Simba appreciatively. They could rest assured that their daughter would be fine.

    CHAPTER 75

    "Dear Alpha Dylan,

It's becoming a back-and-forth love letter writing. Sorry, just wanted to ease the discussion. Mona sent a letter home about you refusing to let her be with her lover. It's not my place to question you, but I would like a chance for her to live freely.

Her ageing parents are getting worried, which isn't fair for them. Also, rumour has it Alpha Douglas is making his way towards your pack. I understand your fear of involving an innocent life in the feud.

At the same time, it isn't right to put her life on hold for something that doesn't look like it's nearing its end. Please try to resolve this. I will be waiting for a positive response from you.

    Alpha Simba."

    *

Dylan sucked in his teeth as Foden read through the letter out loud; he had intentionally passed it on to Foden to read. Knowing Mona had snitched on him as usual to her parents and Alpha.

Foden laughed as he dropped the letter on the table, you really got yourself a baby to look after.

I should have known she would rat me out. She can't keep a thing to herself.

I wouldn't blame her, though. No one actually enjoys seeing your face.

It's the same way I feel towards you, too.

    You are so miserable.

Snorting, you would think I care. Can you agree now that Mark has his fate sealed?

Foden looked on in confusion, I don't understand you.

Well, since you all think I am trying to keep her here with me. Why not her lover, whom she craves freedom with badly, go for her sake to find out if Douglas is gunning for her neck alongside that of the Lycan pack.

Sighing in resolve, I can't say anything to that anymore; his fate has been sealed indeed.

Have a guard call him down here, Dylan instructed.

Foden stood up and headed out of the study to instruct one of the guards to get Mark to the packhouse. It gave Dylan a moment to himself.

Can't believe you would stoop this low. His wolf growled.

Why do you always meddle in what isn't your business? Dylan retorted.

It's my place to check you when you are acting brazen. There is no doubt that you know what would happen if Mark went on this journey. Why do you intend to render her sad all her life?

How is shining light on the truth an offence? Should I go spy on Douglas myself? He scoffed.

Don't say I didn't warn you. I don't have a good feeling about this. His wolf insisted.

Dylan snorted, Keep your assertions to yourself. I don't need them.

Foden walked back in, making a silly move with his legs as he sat down. Mark should be on his way this minute. Fortunately, he is around the packhouse to make a delivery.

Can't argue the stars are aligning in his favour, Dylan stated dryly.

If that was a joke, it's a bad one. Rebuked Foden.

The door opened a few minutes later, giving way to Mark. His face glowed like someone who found love indeed. Foden held back a laugh when he heard Dylan curse under his breath.

Mark, you look good. Is there a secret to this? Foden complimented.

Mark smiled shyly, don't play me like that, Beta. I'm just the same as before.

But more in love now. There was a hint of sarcasm in Dylan's voice.

Foden eyed him bashfully, stop being such a bully. He mouthed in a whisper.

Mark stood uncomfortably, good day, alpha.

Good to have you here, Mark. It's been a while. Dylan said.

Take a seat. Foden gestured towards an empty chair.

Mark gulped hard, his palms becoming sweaty all of a sudden. He'd almost forgotten his duty to the pack and had become relaxed, especially now that Mona was with him. Entering the study reminded him of his position as the Alpha's spy. Before now, Mark was always eager to be summoned to the presence of the Alpha and Beta of Lycan pack, knowing he would need to indulge in a good cause on behalf of the pack, but now he wasn't sure anymore.

How is the bake shop, Mark? Asked Foden.

Fine, beta. It's all good. Mark replied, his eyes searching Dylan's face.

Dylan cleared his throat, sitting up, I will just hit the nail on the head. Mark, I want to believe you know the circumstances surrounding Mona's living in the packhouse?

    Mark nodded, yes, alpha.

You do know Douglas is a brutal being and couldn't care less how many people he kills to get to me. Mona has been clamouring for freedom to enable her to spend time with you. I understand you both are so in love and can't get over each other. Now, some words are flying around that Douglas is making some moves towards the pack. And we need our spies to help determine what Douglas is up to. Dylan explained.

You have been chosen to help spy on the Dark moon pack to know their secrets and activities. Also, this comes with an increase in your rank. Foden added.

Looking around the room with uncertainty, Mark scratched the back of his head. I don't think I would like to go. The thing is, I am just starting to feel love and happiness as a whole. Going on such a mission would mean spending a long time away from my woman.

Dylan couldn't believe his ears; he had never heard anything like Mark had just said. There is no way anyone would want to lose getting an increase in their rank for a woman. Aside from that, it amused him that Mark, who was always eager to take on undercover tasks, was refusing his required obligation.

You don't have a choice, Mark, Dylan said with a stern face.

Gulping hard, Mark looked towards Foden for help. Please. He mouthed.

Foden took a deep breath, the truth is, Mark, this isn't just about the pack. Mona's life is in actual danger, and only you can save her.

    CHAPTER 76

Mark stared at both men dumbfounded, unsure if he heard right. Taking a deep breath, he cleared his throat.

Please, Beta, can you be more clear?

Foden felt something stuck in his throat, Alpha Douglas is still not over the anger of Mona being rescued by Alpha Dylan. He still intends to kill her just as planned. We are not certain yet of his intentions now, and it is why we need you to help spy on him.

The whole room went silent, with no sound coming from anyone of them. It felt like Mark's ears were blocked by a shrilled noise from far away. When Mona had told Mark of her being mistaken for the Alpha's mate, she didn't go into details about what the cruel Alpha had in plan for her. The thought of losing her when he barely got to know her made his heart race terribly.

Mark had no choice. As Alpha Dylan had said before, he wouldn't allow his woman to be at death's mercy when he could do something to save her. He trusts Mona, too, would be happy with his decision. Sitting up, he braced himself.

When do I need to go? He asked

Dylan and Foden exchanged a surprised look. Dylan said, you do know penetrating the dark moon pack at this point would be a bit hard; it means you would need a very convincing disguise.

Also, Douglas knows every Lycan's scent. He can sniff you out in no time. This is going to be one of your hardest tasks so far, Mark. Are you sure you are ready for this? Foden asked.

He is sure definitely, judging by his countenance. Moreover, it's his woman in question. He should be able to do anything to save her. Dylan added

Foden ignored his friend's saucy attitude and returned his attention to Mark. There is no need to do this if you don't want to. We would try to find another means to get to him.

Mark shook his head, I want to do this. Mona has had just about enough of being scared of what might become of her every day. She can't keep living in fear all her life, to think that she knows nothing about this feud, and Alpha Douglas keeps dragging her into the mess. He took a jab at Dylan.

Balling his fist in anger, Dylan glared at an unlooking Mark. You will be informed when to go by the end of today. You can leave now.

Bowing his head, Mark left the study. After waiting till the door got shut from behind, Foden had a focused glare on Dylan without flinching.

Why do I always get the bad look? Dylan inquired.

Because you act like it's right to do the things you do, Foden whined

And what is it that I did so wrong this time?

Why are you insistent on making Mark go on this mission?

It is his job, Foden. Don't sound like I am the monster here; he made the decision himself.

Then you should have acted more like you care about him getting hurt.

I did try; it wasn't just working.

Slapping his forehead, Foden gave up on trying to talk some sense into Dylan. He knows for sure that he wouldn't budge when he sets his mind on
