Spirit of Antichrist

The Bible speaks of the spirit of Antichrist in several passages. In 1 John 4:3, it states that every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. This passage speaks to the fact that the spirit of Antichrist is one that denies the divinity of Jesus Christ.

The Bible also speaks of the spirit of Antichrist in 2 Thessalonians 2:7-8, which states, For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. This passage speaks to the fact that the spirit of Antichrist is one that is characterized by lawlessness and rebellion against God.

The Bible also
