    CHAPTER 1

    God’s Angels Are Real

God’s angels are real. There are many scriptures in the Bible about angels. These are my favorite:

For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. (Psalm 91:11)

Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by doing so some people have entertained angels without knowing it. (Hebrews 13:2)

Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation? (Hebrews 1:14)

Praise the Lord, you his angels, you mighty ones who do his bidding, who obey his word. (Psalm 103:20)

The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them. (Psalm 34:7)

I believe God sends His angels to protect us from harm, to guide us when we need direction, and to minister to us when we have a broken heart and feel hopeless. I was saved by God’s grace when I was a girl of sixteen. Each and every one of us can become saved and live with God for all of eternity. Salvation is the greatest gift from God that humans could ever receive. All that is needed is to say a prayer and to believe it. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died on the cross for my sins. I confess that I am a sinner. And I ask You, God, to please forgive me of all the sins that I have committed. I repent. I ask You to please come into my heart and into my life. And I accept You as my Lord and Savior. In Jesus’s name, amen. If you have said this prayer and meant it, then you will go to heaven. It’s a onetime prayer; say it and you are saved. You cannot lose your salvation.

We will always sin, no matter how hard we try not to, because we live in a fallen world. All we can do is the best that we can do and ask God to forgive us when we do sin. John 3:16 says, For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. I had been reading this scripture for thirty-eight years until one day I fully understood what God’s Word meant. The key word is gave. When I realized that I didn’t have to do anything to earn God’s love and His salvation, it was a profound revelation. It is not good works that get us into heaven. There is nothing we can do. It is what God does for us (if we ask) because He loves all of us very much. It doesn’t matter what we have done; as long as we ask for forgiveness, we will receive it.

I have two more brief but important topics to touch on before moving on to chapter 2. I believe that all animals go to heaven. I will share two scriptures. Matthew 6:10 says, On earth as it is in heaven. There are animals and pets we love on earth—as it is in heaven. So they will be with us in heaven. Revelation 19:11 says, I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. God is coming back on a white horse. If there are horses in heaven, then surely all of God’s creatures will be waiting for us there as
