Encompassing Love - Nancy R. Hardy
God Alone
God alone is the creator of all,
When I heard His voice, I headed His call.
Unlike man, God changes not,
He cleanses our sin and removes every spot.
He predestined me before the world began,
Jesus chose me when He created man.
His goodness He extended to us,
He asks that we would simply trust.
The Holy Spirit must shine in our heart,
When it dwells within, our sin will depart.
Mommy
I love you, Mommy, did I tell you today?
I called out your name when I kneeled down to pray.
I love you, Mommy, did you think I forgot?
For everything you’ve done, I say thanks a lot.
I love you Mommy, I thank God for you,
It’s what you say, it’s the things that you do.
I love you, Mommy, did I ever say?
Thank you for teaching me how to pray!
I love you, Mommy, for the sacrifices you made,
The memories we shared will never fade.
I love you, Mommy, for who you are,
You may not be famous or even a star.
I love you, Mommy, for the lady you taught me to be,
Someone with standards and integrity.
More Than I Deserve
He has given me more than I could ask, imagine or think.
Just like Job, who lost everything he had
Faster than the eye can blink.
I’ve had highs and so many lows,
Failures and defeats that only God knows.
Disappointment, heartache and even heartbreak,
Storms and trials-- not sure how much more I can take!
I’ve besought the Lord to let this thing pass,
I’ve often wondered how long it will last.
Lord I know the sufficiency of Your grace,
I’m feeling stationary, like running in place.
Tattered and worn down, lost and afraid,
I refuse to give up, because of the promises He’s made.
God says, "I know the thoughts that I think toward you,
But who am I, that God should think of me?
I know I’m not worthy.
Formed
I was formed in my mother’s womb,
Death was waiting in the form of a tomb.
Jesus was there and changed my path,
While the enemy scoffed in his wrath.
I was redeemed by the blood of the Lamb,
A better sacrifice than any ram.
He saved my life and made it better,
His Spirit gives life as we were killed by the letter.
We were made, God’s own creation,
The will of God, even our sanctification.
A just God, who in spite of our sin,
Restored by the only One who has no beginning or end.
Through His blood we are
