About this ebook
How do you become a demon you ask? Well let me tell you our story.
In the time of the Great Depression, money and morals were in short supply. The selling of children was not unheard of. Annick's mother thought more of the mighty dollar than her own daughter, never questioning what was to become of her. Little did she know the power she was to allow her daughter to become!
That was how she met me, and how we become we.
I am the mighty Maymon, Demon King of the South! All powerful in the underneath, but until summoned, barred from walking in the sunshine of the above. Annick was chosen for me, hand picked by those who meant to control us. Lucky for me, and the girl, she had other ideas.
What a magnificent team we are! Come, hear our story. Then maybe you too could become a demon!

Ides of May - Terry Hooker
Chapter one
I am a Baby
In the grand scheme of the universe, I am a baby. Well, at least in this vessel I am. I, as an entity, have been around from the beginning of time itself. Within the realm I come from, I am King! I have been King for millennia there. I dwell in the nether along with those that existed before me, as well as those that came after. I can't tell you how we came to be. We just were and are. We fought, we thrived, and a few of us became beyond powerful while the rest lived to serve. The only downside to any of this, the nether, the power, and the existence, is that we cannot go where we pleased on the upside. We were trapped in the nether world with no chance ourselves to be free in the above. We had to wait to be called by those who thought they could control us.
HA!
Little did they know how powerful one must be to have even just an inkling of control over us. For we are the power they use to call us, the hate they thrive on, and those who shall live forever.
This vessel is still young and beautiful. Even though in human years, she would be considered ancient, well, that might be an exaggeration, some of your grandparents might be her age, but since you refer to them as ancient, that's how I refer to myself, well ourself. It might be a bit overwhelming once you realize there are two of us in here. But listen to our story, and you will come to understand.
I came into existence in this form in the modern year of 1935. It was in the middle of what was being called the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl. These were great times for my kind. We thrived on the suffering of mankind. There was no food or work. Money wasn't just tight, it was nonexistent. We trolled the netherworld waiting for some unsuspecting soul to summon us, to ask our assistance to make their lives better. But I digress; let's have the girl tell the story of the before.
You see, we share space, her and I. We. When we are working together, we are...well, We. Otherwise, she is her, and I am me. Do you understand? Good, I am so glad. Okay love, step up, and tell your story. That's it, good girl. Our voice will become quieter, and our thoughts will become calmer. She always has a way of bringing calm to our storm.
Chapter Two
The Family
We was, I mean were , he doesn't like when I don't talk correctly, we were farmers, or trying to be farmers I should say, in Cimarron County, Oklahoma when it happened. My father had passed away from excessive drinking. He liked the hooch. He liked the hooch more than he liked most anything else. I was not sorry to see him go. He was not a good man, but since we are being honest right now, mamma was not a good woman either, and she was who I was left with.
I will never forget that day. It started on a typical day; I was sixteen years old at the time. Nothing particularly special about me except I had been told I had an hourglass figure. Many people called me voluptuous. I just thought it was annoying. People stared, boys mostly, but girls did too. The girls whispered loud enough to hear them. Whore.
Honestly, I didn't even know what that word meant. I had heard people say it about my mamma, so I
