    Prince Shadow - Pet TorreS

    Author's Note

I created this story after I fell asleep on a Sunday afternoon. I don’t usually fall asleep during the daytime, only when I'm sick.

But that day I was not sick and suddenly a quick drowsiness caught me and I ended up sleeping for less than two hours.

Just that day I dreamed I was on top of a castle and I was a princess. I had just ended up receiving the news that I should marry a prince that I had never seen in my life. Soon after I went to the balcony of the castle and threw myself from it.

During this period, I felt my body going down quickly, I looked around and saw a shadow forming and circling my body. Soon, this shadow had become a shadow carpet and saved me from death.

Prince shadow took me to several places at the same time and told me I should help him get rid of that state he was in and also get out of that underworld.

Then I woke up soon after.

And I had the feeling I had that dream just to write a story.

Even so, this story was concluded today, on October 4, 2015.

Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi.

Now I bring this tale entirely to you, dear PettieS, so you can dive with me into a formidable Underworld, accompanied by the Prince Shadow.

    Prologue

    Kurt

Her sweet seductive voice insisted to my ears at the occasion she insisted on raising a dark apple in my direction. That countrywoman was aware of the rupture of our loving and secret relationship. I could no longer continue meeting with her in the middle of the forest and hidden from everyone.

I'll leave you in peace, but first, bite a piece of this apple to put an end to our Love.

    Okay.

I nodded, holding the apple in my right hand.

But after I eat this fruit with you, you'll never look for me, right?

    I promise you, my love...

She looked at me with a psychotic gaze as she watched me approach the apple to my lips and after that I sank the teeth into it enthusiastically.

At this exact moment, it appeared a flash, escorted by a burst.

My body disappeared from the forest. The bitten apple rolled on the floor and stopped next to the witch's feet. She curved down, grabbed the apple and raised herself slowly as looking to the black fruit between her fingers.

Her eyes changed color, turned green, blue, black, brown, and finally, there was no stability in her eyeballs.

Soon she uttered with her eyes at the dark apple.

THE SPELL OF THE SHADOWS IS CAST.

    Chapter 1

THE FALL FROM THE CASTLE BALCONY

    Elaine

At seventeen, I can say that I lived the worst nightmare of my life.

That afternoon I had planned to ride on my horseback by the forest close to my father’s castle, as I would be escorted by severe guards who were only concerned about my safety because they would receive gold coins at the end of each month.

But my entire fantasy of riding on a beautiful white horse was collapsed when I was requested to the living room in the Royal palace.

When I arrived in the place, my father was standing next to my mother. The king held a letter in his hand and looked at it still open between his fingers.

The issue had some obstacles and none of them seemed to have sufficient authority to start talking. Since then, I had followed in front with my apprehensive voice.

    Did something happen?

They did not answer me. My father stood looking down at the short letter in his hand and my mother stared at my face with her worried face.

What are you hiding from me?

I took one step in front, holding the skirt of my long wine dress with golden embroidery. My frightened stare insisted on watching my parents facing me.

Please! Speak! What is going on?

I took aim at my mother. She was my friend and would not hide anything from me. I was persuaded of it.

Tell Mother! Please! What afflicts you that way?

The Queen looked to the side and stared at my father’s face. She was not allowed to say something to me, even despite the fact that she was my mother. Even she was my friend.

I... I have some news that might not be so good for you, my daughter...

Finally, my father started. I went back to look at him and his image as a king, my gaze stopped at him and not turned over another thing as he continued saying with a paused voice.

We received... a letter from a distant province... this morning and the king of distant lands... aspires to marry his son with you... my daughter!

Marry a Prince who I do not even know? I stared at him with shock. Won’t you allow it, daddy? Will you?

His answer did not come fast as I wanted. It also came in a distorted way to enlarge my despair.

I cannot do anything to prevent it... dear.

Paying attention to it, I shook my head in shock. It missed floor and structure for me to keep myself up and face that commitment as if I was getting a jewel of diamond in my hands.

    I'm sorry honey!

The king had spoken and lowered his head. My mother saw that he was also suffering from this decision; soon she surrounded him and put her hand on his shoulder. Trying to comfort him.

    No! No! No!

    I exclaimed, shaking my head.

You cannot hand me to him on a silver platter! To a guy I've never seen in my life and never heard of him!!!!

    He is...

My father was going to talk about the Prince's lineage; but I turned to the side and ran desperately through the corridors of the castle as I held my dress skirt with bustle, almost stumbling over its hem.

My parents remained in the living room, imagining that I was running to lock myself in my bedroom. And acting the same way, on every occasion I received the disagreeable news.

In my bed, I always had permission to cry in peace and alone. Without having someone to try to impede my tears and say to me.

Do not cry Highness! Tears do not match the beauty of your face.

The noises of my shoes against the castle ground were thunderous. Some guards, standing in the corners of the walls, stared at me, but they did not dare to leave their places without any order, even they were seeing their Highness was running with great despair to one chance that maybe I did not know.

To finish, my breath stopped and after that, it accelerated even more when I climbed a long staircase and reached the top of the tower. The highest balcony of the castle.

Still holding the border of my dress, I looked down. All beneath my eyes was so small. They seemed frozen ants.

I closed my eyes and held back my tears that desired to descend by my flushed face. My long, dark hair was imprisoned by a braid threw to the side of my left shoulder.

I took another breath and opened my eyes at
