"Wow! Maddie shouted, looking out the school bus windows. I can’t believe the yearly field trip to the Highland Park Zoo is finally here! I’ve been waiting all school year for this, and now it’s finally happening!"

You can say that again, Andy said, sitting next to Anna behind Jayce and Maddie’s seat. I’ve been waiting for this trip ever since I heard they are getting a saltwater crocodile exhibit. I gotta say, those are probably my favorite animals!

You just like them because they look like dinosaurs, dude, Anna laughed, playfully punching her brother’s shoulder."

Yeah, so? Andy shot back. Besides, I know someone else who likes saltwater crocodiles too.

Suddenly, the pouch to Andy’s backpack popped open, revealing the orange head of the velociraptor hidden under a lunch box. Tennyson uttered a little growl before diving back into the backpack, tearing away at a tennis ball that Andy threw in there to entertain the dinosaur.

You brought Tennyson? Jayce smiled. I didn’t know he would be coming, but then again, I should’ve guessed. I’m sure with all the plants and grass in there, he’ll feel right at home in his natural habitat. Isn’t that right, little buddy?

The velociraptor growled happily in the backpack before Andy zipped it up halfway, leaving a little breathing hole for the dinosaur. Although practically everyone at school was unaware that Andy and Anna had a pet dinosaur, Andy still had to be careful. If it was discovered that he brought a pet along with the class trip, he would have a lot of explaining to do to his parents. The only one at school besides Jayce and Maddie who knew about the dinosaur was Mason Mitchell – the school bully – and Andy tried to keep it that way.

Well, if it isn’t Shy Andy and the Dork Patrol, began a snickering voice from a few seats back among the chatter of students.

Oh great, Jayce moaned. And I thought this zoo trip would be relaxing.

What do you want, lame-o? Anna asked, turning toward Mason.

Nothing, Mason replied dishonestly. Just trying to warn you guys about the big gorilla in the zoo.

"Big gorilla? Maddie asked. Yeah, so what?"

They say it hurt over a dozen people in the country where they got it from, Mason went on. "It took five guys just to haul the gorilla inside! Legend has it, it might be the meanest gorilla ever to walk the face of the earth. Have you seen pictures of it? Its arms are so big, I bet it could bend the bars of its cage and easily escape into the zoo."

Yeah right, Mason, Anna replied. "Don’t you ever get tired of trying to scare us? Besides, if the gorilla were to escape, pretty sure with that dorky-looking hairdo, you’d be
