    The Ten Commandments

And God spoke all these words:

"I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.

"You shall have no other gods before me.

"You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.

"You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.

"Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

"Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.

    "You shall not murder.

    "You shall not commit adultery.

    "You shall not steal.

"You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.

    (Exodus 20:1–17 NIV)

A Very Important Letter to Our Lord Jesus

    Dear Jesus:

My hope and prayer are that people around the world reading this book never see me, Lord, but see You, Lord Jesus. I initially thought not to give my name as the author, nor did I wish to publish my photo as the book’s author, but You showed me I needed to include my name and photo to bear testimony of You.

Lord Jesus, You recall that in 2005, it was prophesied to me that I would write these books. I wrote these books out of obedience and love for You, Lord Jesus. Let every word glorify Your holy name, not mine.

Let every soul touched by reading this book Lord, give You honor and pluck them out of hell into Your loving arms in Heaven. Lord Jesus, never let us lose sight of You. Amen.

    Foreword

It isn’t hard to see that the times we are living in are indeed a call to wake up. We need to wake up to the truth, search for a solid foundation, and search for things that are believable.

In a post-Covid pandemic society, people have emerged knowing that the lockdown forced them to be at home and look within—within their families and relationships, the important things that really matter, and the people looked within their souls. We searched for peace and the absence of strife. For those of us who were fortunate to do so, we followed every precaution to be healthy in the hope of the absence of sickness.

What if we were to have called upon God and asked for the peace of God, which, incidentally, transcends the peace of men (Philippians 4:6) and exercised faith and wisdom in everything we did? Would we have emerged differently?

I would like to offer a challenge to my readers… Turn off mainstream media for a week, month, or year. Do your research to find out what’s really happening in our city, state, nation, and the world—socially, economically, and politically—and consider what’s happening spiritually.

The author, Mr. Constantine Nightingdale, has spent years literally searching for the truth. When he found it, he couldn’t hide it under a rock or stay silent. That’s why you are now reading this book, What It Means to Be a Jehovah’s Witness, and by virtue of that, you are, in effect seeking the Lord. Mr. Nightingdale has spent years researching and compiling facts about the times we live in while seeking the Lord.

Once you read this handbook, it is the author’s hope and prayer that you’ll emerge with a sense that you’re a bit more prepared for what’s coming than before reading the book.

Is Jehovah’s Witnesses (JW) a religion that promises heaven? JW originates from one particular man who didn’t agree with a few doctrines of the true Christian faith.

Does JW replace the one true God, creator of the Heavens and Universe, with many different gods?

Is JW, in a very true way, a form of denial?

Are you 100% certain that you will go to Heaven and not end up in Hell? I hate to put it so bluntly, but I’d hate it more knowing that one less soul made it to Heaven.

While JW seeks to be part of a false doctrine of 144,000—Christianity gives you an everyday instruction manual for life and then provides a way to Heaven along the way.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

    (John 14:6 KJV)

If it matters to you that you end up in Heaven after your days on earth comes to an end, and you wish not to take any risks with your eternal destiny, read further, my friend. It is my hope and desire that we one day meet in Heaven.

May God bless you richly, and His Holy Spirit move within your life as you read this book.

    —Charene D., Editor

    Introduction

This has been an exciting and amazing journey—for what was once one publication became two books, and this book entitled What It Means to be a Jehovah’s Witness is the sixth book that Author Constantine has written in an effort to reach others around the world about all-important truths.

Why is this significant? Because as a fourth-generation former Mormon, Constantine was awakened to the truth in 1998 and was compelled by prophetic voices in 2005 that he would write books. It took seventeen years to come to fruition and tell the story of his life-changing experience in his first book, Mormonism Debunked—but the writings didn’t stop there.

The Holy Spirit of God prompted Constantine to continue writing the truth about many other false religions and cults so that millions of people around the world could be released from a stronghold of deception (as he was released from Mormonism) and be presented with the truth.

As you are reading this sixth book, we ask that you consider this to be a divine appointment and not by mere coincidence. You are meant to be reading this book.

It is not without ongoing spiritual warfare for the Author to complete these books and share the truth. Satan doesn’t want any publisher or distributor to get these books into the hands of Christians, Islamists, Hindus, Buddhists, Jehovah’s Witnesses, or other groups and individuals who are out there searching for the truth.

For example, files have gone missing just as we were about to send the manuscripts to the publisher; algorithms on search engines are also at play with returning different search results on different days, making it difficult to verify sources.

But we shall overcome all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens us (me) (Philippians 4:13).

God bless you richly for having an open and willing heart.

End-Time Apostle Constantine Nightingdale is pictured here looking up to God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. He is wearing the gown he wore when he was baptized on March 20, 2018 (while on a TBN tour led by Matt and Laurie Crouch) in the Jordan River, Israel. Notice the lei, which is a Hawaiian kukui nut lei. Fifteen kukui nuts on each side represent grace—five for a total of fifteen. A total of thirty nuts symbolizes the Trinity—three times ten equals thirty—the number of completion. As Mr. Nightingdale travels around the world to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the End Game with those who have an open heart—this signifies completion as an Apostle of Jesus Christ.

    Chapter 1

How Did the Jehovah’s Witnesses Get Its Start?

It was in 1872, and if it were not for one disgruntled former Presbyterian, Charles Taze Russell (1852–1916), the Jehovah’s Witnesses (JW) might not have had its beginnings in the late nineteenth century in Pittsburg, PA.¹ The JW movement resulted from Russel’s complete and total dissatisfaction with some of the major doctrines of the true Christian faith, and it’s been said that he articulated this clearly and with a raised tone of voice.

One doctrine Russell had a problem with is that many who don’t receive Christ Jesus would perish in the eternal Lake of Fire. He couldn’t believe that a God who was supposed to be so loving would allow His children to go to that otherworldly place at the end. One could say that Russell dealt with his personal dilemma by finding a tangent in forming the JW movement.

Reverend Russell is the greatest enemy of the organized church because he does not preach the doctrines of Christ.²

    —Rev. John A. Henderson

    Presbyterian Minister, March 5, 1906

From a small circle of Russell’s followers originating at the Bible House in Allegheny, Pennsylvania, he named his congregation Jehovah’s Witnesses, and since 1931 the group has experienced an expansion of epic proportion.³ Consider this excerpt from a biography on JWs founder, written in 1916:

Austere-appearing Kingdom Halls now occupy neighborhood corners in most American communities. Four or five times a week, eager members assemble to praise the glory of Jehovah.

Outsiders often equate these Witnesses rather suspiciously with the refusal to salute the flag, rejections of blood transfusions, and with persistent, sometimes overzealous, door-to-door solicitors or colporteurs [someone who distributes bibles and other religious tracts], as they are known among the Witnesses.

What is uncanny is that this writing is prophetic in that 108 years later, today, this is a true reflection of reality concerning the JW Kingdom Halls.

How did the JW movement grow from a small group of bible students to the number it is today? As of 2021, the number of JW members worldwide is 8.7 million; in the U.S. is approximately 1.3 million.⁵ Perhaps a concept called Marxism can explain a partial reason for its growth. Marxism is the political and economic theories of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, later developed by their followers to form the basis for the theory and practice of communism.

Amid nineteenth-century confusion of growing religious sects, wars, rumors of wars, and social unrest, Russell had a keen insight into where society was headed. He was right about one thing, Marxism would lead to communism in what was thought to be the free world. Russell preached against Marxism and socialism and fiercely let his congregation know that pretty much everyone outside of his little flock belonged to satan—former Presbyterian affiliates (whom he labeled as an extension of the legions of Babylon), Seventh-Day Adventists, Mormons, Christian Scientists, and holy-rollers. While it is true that the cult is strongly rejected as false doctrines by the true Christian Church, most Christians do not view the entire world outside of their congregation as evil and belonging to satan.

Russell spared no person, institution, or idea if, in his mind, they were antithetical to his religious orthodoxy. University professors, evolutionists, historians, archaeologists, spiritualists, scientists, philosophers, Tsars and Kaisers, demographers, backsliding Bible students, hypnotists, Ouija board operators, and of course, the nominal church came under powerful attack in Pastor Russell’s editorials and sermons.

    Multitde of People.

Those who bought into Russell’s teachings believed they would be among the chosen few if they joined with him. He had an uncanny way of influencing the minds of people in his society who were disillusioned and searching for some sort of truth. Russell was skilled at infusing deception with some things that were true, making it appear that everything he said was true. Additionally, he was an eloquent speaker, like Joseph Smith and many other cult leaders, and could easily mislead people. We see this in modern times. The media uses someone with eloquent speech to gain points and sway their audience.

The same thing happened within the JW movement. Disillusioned members of society searching for some kind of truth were persuaded by compelling speakers to become Jehovah’s Witnesses. Consequently, the JW movement continued to grow in numbers and more JW churches. At a later date, Joseph F. Rutherford (1869–1942) began the Pennsylvania JW with their main office in Brooklyn, New York and the JW cult spread even further.

In the true Christian Church, the cult is something to be wary of and prayerfully redeemed for the true church. The difference is that Russell attributed the cult practices to almost everyone else outside his bubble. He saw himself and his little growing flock as being set aside with a truth that no one else could obtain except for the 144,000 chosen ones.

Russell claimed that scriptural evidence showed Jehovah would divide mankind into two classes: the heavenly class, consisting of 144,000, and the other sheep, consisting of all the rest. The heavenly class would share governmental power with Jesus during the millennium; it would reside in heaven, and from there direct the earthly theocracy. Great numbers of the other sheep would perish during the battle of Armageddon; the rest…

Russell’s followers would live on earth forever and be ruled by the 144,000. Wow! This is in direct contrast to what Jesus said about His sheep.

What Jesus Really Says about His Sheep

I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know Me,

    (John 10:14 ESV)

To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice: and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.

    (John 10:3 NKJV)

Like a shepherd He will tend His flock, In His arm He will gather the lambs And carry them in His bosom; He will gently lead the nursing ewes.

    (Isaiah 40:11 NASB)

I have other sheep, which are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will hear My voice; and they will become one flock with one shepherd.

    (John 10:16 NASB)

He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.

    (Psalm 23:3 NASB)

I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.

    (John 10:9 NASB)

Hear the word of the LORD, O nations, And declare in the coastlands afar off, And say, He who scattered Israel will gather him And keep him as a shepherd keeps his flock.

    (Jeremiah 31:10 NASB)

‘Thus says the Lord God, Behold, I am against the shepherds, and I will demand My sheep from them and make them cease from feeding sheep. So the shepherds will not feed themselves anymore, but I will deliver My flock from their mouth, so that they will not be food for them.

    (Ezekiel 34:10 NASB)

And the LORD their God will save them in that day As the flock of His people; For they are as the stones of a crown, Sparkling in His land.

    (Zechariah 9:16 NASB)

and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatchthem out of My hand.

    (John 10:28 NASB)

Awake, O sword, against My Shepherd, And against the man, My Associate, Declares the Lord of hosts. "Strike the Shepherd that the sheep may be scattered; And I will turn My hand against the little ones.

    (Zechariah 13:7 NASB)
