    Why Study the Blood?

Under the law almost everything is purified by means of the blood,

and without the shedding of blood there is neither release from sin

and its guilt nor the remission of the due merited punishment for sins.

    Hebrews 9:22, AMP.

Our Christian life originated in God’s Almighty Blood. Blood Covenant was agreed upon by God the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit. Made in heaven before time existed, before the foundation of the world, each member of the Godhead consented to the agreement (1 Peter 1:20). The Word of God, Himself, willingly agreed with the Father and the Holy Spirit, that He would come to earth, take on flesh, join in humanity, and give His life. Therefore, God and all of heaven backed up the power contained in Jesus’ sinless Blood. Its power is eternal. This Blood can never lose its Sovereign power. Time cannot change its power and its power cannot be diminished. The Holy Spirit agreed He would do His miraculous part. Read Luke 1:26-35.

Man would need a savior. God had a plan in place far before Adam’s race was ever created. The Godhead planned and purposed to establish holy Blood and its power containing the Holy Spirit to bring many sons and daughters into God’s Kingdom.

For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the

altar to make an atonement for your souls: For it is the blood that maketh

an atonement for the soul, Leviticus 17:11.

The Amplified Bible says: It is the blood that makes atonement, by reason of the life [which it represents]. Jesus’s life is contained in His shed Blood.

The Godhead established the plan and purpose of this unfathomable, marvelous sacrifice, accomplished by Jesus in every meticulous detail. It was devised to bring His creation out of darkness, into God’s kingdom of light. This plan accomplished a way of forgiveness, abolishment of sin and guilt, removal of the curse (Deuteronomy 28:15-68), the making of believers into a new creation, giving adoption into the family of God, and new identity in Christ Jesus. The Godhead decided Jesus would be the first of many brothers, born of God’s Spirit (receiving His Blood sacrifice as their very own). This astounding plan provided the believer to be granted the same inheritance as Jesus Christ (Ephesians 1:11). It is important to know what your inheritance in Christ Jesus consists of.

Adam and Eve’s sin did not take God by surprise. Before creation God had already prepared a remedy to bring Adam’s race to God and give them the opportunity to become His beloved, His very own sons and daughters.

In this study guide you will gain insight into how to partake of the plans of God to draw all men unto Himself, your new identity in Christ Jesus, God’s special purpose for your life, your responsibility and authority to rule and reign with God. You will learn how to overcome Satan by the Blood of the Lamb, the word of your testimony, and the deep joy of loving and serving Jesus Christ with your whole life (Revelation 12:11).

    Lesson Three

    Cast Down, Not Forsaken

Please read all of Genesis 4:1–16 and take a look at God’s dealing with Adam and Eve’s first two sons.

How did God favor the sacrifice and worship of Cain and Abel?

What was Abel’s sacrifice a picture of?

Hebrews 11:4tells us Abel submitted to what pleased the Lord. How did he accomplish this?

This is the first record of approaching God as an act of worship with a blood sacrifice. God’s favor was given to Abel’s sacrifice and not to Cain’s. Abel, because he was prompted by faith, was called a believer.

Faith comes by hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17); therefore, we can easily assume that Adam and Eve taught their children; when they sinned, God had provided a blood covering so they could approach Him.

The first recorded blood sacrifice given as worship tells us that apart from the Blood and faith in what it accomplishes, we cannot please, approach, nor have sweet fellowship with God (Murray,12).

    Write Hebrews 11:6below.

Understand Cain, on the other hand, was of a different spirit. Of what spirit was Cain?

    1 John 3:8–12, Amplified Bible:

[But] he who commits sin [who practices evildoing] is of the devil [takes his character from the evil one], for the devil has sinned (violated the divine law) from the beginning. The reason the Son of God was made manifest (visible) was to undo (destroy, loosen, and dissolve) the works the devil [has done].

No one born (begotten) of God [deliberately, knowingly, and habitually] practices sin, for God’s nature abides in him [His principle of life the divine sperm, remains permanently within him]: and he cannot practice sinning because he is born (begotten) of God.

By this it is made clear who take their nature from God and are His children and who take their nature from the devil and are his children: no one who does not practice righteousness [who does not conform to God’s will in purpose, thought, and action] is of God; neither is anyone who does not love his brother (his fellow believer in Christ).

For this is the message (the announcement) which you have heard from the first, that we should love one another,

[And] not be like Cain who [took his nature and got his motivation] from the evil one and slew his brother.
