About this ebook

Jason Elliott made his decision to be part of the rapture of the Church when he was twelve in a one-room Christian school. Now a high-profile investigative reporter on assignment in Israel, he, his wife, and his team come to realize this age is rapidly coming to an end, and it was all foretold in the Bible. ¬ They discover the prophecies written 2,500 years ago are unfolding today as if written yesterday. Will the signing of the Israeli-Palestine Peace Agreement mark the beginning of the final seven years to the Battle of Armageddon? Is World War III in the Bible? Is Armageddon the end of the world? In this fast-paced mystery, Satan does his best to derail him, but Jason maintains his Christian values even when he accidentally uncovers the assassination plot of white-collar terrorists that make him and his family their targets, as if to say, "Take that, Satan!"

Preface

Iwas minding my own business, standing in a friend’s kitchen in Pendleton, Oregon, eating a peanut-butter sandwich, when Barbara (my friend’s daughter whom I had never met) burst in and took over the conversation. It seemed that Barbara’s daughter was embarrassed to sit with her in church because Barbara was too loud. I listened politely to her heated ranting for about five minutes and was about to excuse myself when Barbara turned to me and invited me to go to church with her. I was afraid to say no.

It was in Barbara’s church where—for the first time in my life—I heard the Truth. It sounded like a silver fork striking a fine crystal goblet. Most Christianity I had been exposed to in the past sounded more like a plastic spoon striking a paper plate. On hearing the truth, I realized I must respond to it. Within the week, I was baptized with the water and the spirit. And, no, Barbara was not too loud.

A short time later, business concerns led me to pack up my Greyhound bus, travel two hundred miles, and settle temporarily in Albany, Oregon, on my way to Arizona. The little church at Third and Pine welcomed me to such an extent that I felt like I wanted to give something back.

I asked the pastor if there was something I could do. He informed me that he did not assign tasks, but if I noticed a need in an area where I had an interest, I was free to help. Well, I have a degree in secondary education, I said. Perhaps I could help out in the school as a volunteer?

I reported to the school the very next morning and ended up staying on as a teacher for the next eight years—on my way to Arizona! I wouldn’t find out for several months that the whole church had been praying for a teacher. I believe I learned more from those students than they ever did from me.

After I had retired, two of those students came to me and asked me to write an eight-minute radio show they could perform at the Oregon Student Convention. They wanted it to be something concerning end time Bible prophecy. I wrote it, they performed it, and it earned first place!

I couldn’t get those final eight minutes out of my mind. So, I started to write. This book is the result. Enjoy the read, and may God bless you.

Chapter 1

A nd we are back. This is Jason Elliot, coming to you from Radio Free Israel here in beautiful downtown Jerusalem where we bring you the News That Is Important to You from around the world and directly out of the pages of your Bible. We’ll be taking your calls a little later in the program, but first, I would like to recall for you some of the stories we have been following these last few weeks.

As he spoke, he glanced through the glass to his left, and his eyes locked on Adam, who sat with his hands frozen over his keyboard, mouth open, eyes staring into space—visibly shaken with whatever he was hearing through his headphones. Jason could see that all fifteen call lines were lit up, but his partner just sat there as seconds ticked by.

Finally, Adam started typing, Your brother-in-law, calling himself Nathan, is on line two. I hear gunfire. As soon as he knew Jason had seen the message on his screen, Adam used the backspace key to remove it.

Jason, now standing up and pacing around his small radio studio, quickly scribbled a note and held it up to the glass for Adam: Ask him to hold until the commercial. Jason didn’t want to wait until commercial, but he couldn’t put his best friend on the air; that could get him killed. The next four and a half minutes would drag by as Jason lined up the top news stories for the day’s program.

When the red light finally went out and they were in commercial, Jason ran out of his studio and across the hall to a room where several children were playing. Sammy, go get Mommy. Uncle Samuel is on the phone!

The boy quickly jumped up and ran out the door, further down the hallway and around the corner, while Jason, just as quickly, returned to his studio and pushed button two. I hope you are on that secure satellite phone I gave you.

I am, said Samuel.

We’d almost given up on you. Thought you might have been captured.

I have eluded capture several times in the last few months, including five minutes ago.

Are you safe now?

Ana ran into her husband’s studio, still holding little Sammy’s hand and yelled, Is he okay?

Yes, Ana, I’m okay, for now anyway. No Christian is safe in this world except there in Israel and across the pond. I figure I’m still about two hundred miles out, maybe more. I, well, we have walked almost the whole way from northern India, through the mountains and staying off the roads.

We’ve been praying for you.

Good. Don’t stop. Say, Jason, do you think you could send some of your military friends for us? It’s all desert in front of us, no place to hide. And there are hostiles in the area.

I’ll make the call. Little Sammy wants to say something.

Sammy took the microphone, almost dropping it, and asked, Are you going to come to my birffday party? It was difficult for him to say birthday considering he was missing his two front teeth.

I will do my best to get there, Sammy. So how old are you going to be?

Seven, I’m gonna be seven.

Jason, taking back the microphone, said to his son, Daddy’s turn to talk now. Obviously relieved, he reluctantly excused himself, I have to get back to the program. Tell Adam everything he needs to know to find you and…and…thank you, Jesus, for keeping them safe!

The red on-air light came on just as Ana and little Sammy were leaving the studio. You are back with Jason Elliott and the biblical explanation for today’s top news stories from around the world. I believe we are ready for our first caller, Adam. Who do we have?

Adam, getting dangerously close to 70, had been Jason’s producer for his entire news career, almost eighteen years, and though he might have retired long ago, he could not think of anything more important than to be part of bringing to light the prophecies of the end time. Yes, Jason, we have Jacob who wants to talk about that new UN resolution handed down a few days ago.

Well, Jacob, I have been waiting for someone to ask about that. What would you like to know?

I’d like to know if you think Israel will go ahead and divide the city and the Temple Mount with Palestine like the UN just demanded that she do.

I can tell you most emphatically, Jacob, that Israel will not give up the Temple Mount or any part of Jerusalem…under any circumstances.

Wow, you sound definite about that.

I am. The Peace Agreement set the stage for Armageddon: but this new UN resolution will be the trigger that ignites it. Let me explain why to some of our newer listeners. Almost seven years ago, the now famous and much sought-after Peace Agreement was signed. This event was prophesied in the Old Testament in the book of Daniel, written 2,500 years ago. Today, we call it a Peace Agreement. In the Bible, it is referred to as the Confirmation of the Covenant. Marie, would you read that passage for us?

Marie responded, "Certainly, Jason, it’s Daniel 9:27.

(27) ‘And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease.’"

This covenant they are confirming is the one made by God to Abraham way back in the book of Genesis, to give Israel a permanent home in their promised land…the land that is known today as Israel.

Excuse me, interrupted Jacob. What is this one week?

Ah! We did a whole show on Daniel’s Seventy Weeks about a month ago. I urge those who missed that show to go to our archives online and review it. It is a full explanation of Daniel 9:24–27, where God lays out the time frame for the Jews to get their act together before the Second Coming of the Lord. We are in the final week or the seventieth week now. That week is really a week of years, or a seven-year period. Notice in the verse Marie read, it says ‘in the midst of the week, he shall bring an end to sacrifice and oblation’? That happened three and a half years ago, in the newly built temple on the Temple Mount. I’m sure you all remember that day and the Second Jewish Holocaust that followed immediately after that event. One hundred and twenty thousand Jews, men, women, and children were slaughtered in and around their homes in the West Bank in a single day.

I remember that day. Was that in the Bible too?

Yes, it was. Marie, do you have those verses as well?

"I do, Jason. It is another account of the same event found in Matthew 24:15–18, 21:

(15) ‘When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand),

(16) then let them which be in Judea flee into the mountains:

(17) Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take anything out of his house:

(18) Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes…

(21) For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be."’

Jacob, does that sound to you like a warning for Judea, now called the West Bank, about what was to come that fateful day three and a half years ago…and the turmoil we have experienced since?

It sure does. I wish I had known these things then.

"The signing of this Peace Agreement is the event that started the time clock for Daniel’s Seventieth Week, or the final seven years till Armageddon. The final borders for Israel and Palestine were defined, which left about 800,000 Jews living outside of Israel in the West Bank, which is now Palestine. Because they were not able to decide what to do about the Temple Mount, it was placed under the control of the United Nations. People of all faiths have been allowed to worship there for the first time in history, and Israel was finally able to build her Third Temple on the Temple Mount, which stands there today. The problem, at the time the Peace Agreement was signed, was Jerusalem. Neither side would relinquish Jerusalem as their capitol. So the issue was tabled for a seven-year period. It is still a stalemate today. Neither the Jews nor the Arabs are willing to back down. Both want control over Jerusalem. When Palestine teamed up with the UN this week and issued that resolution against Israel, I’m sure they all thought they had finally won the argument about Jerusalem, thinking Israel would never stand alone against the United Nations! Most of the world at this moment believe that Israel will have no choice but to give in to the greater force: the United Nations.

By the way, Jacob, did you know that the UN Resolution that we are talking about in today’s news was foretold in the Bible 2,500 years ago?

No, Jason, I’ve read my Bible several times, and I have never seen that.

Turning his attention to Marie in Adam’s control booth, Jason asked, Marie, would you read that verse I like so much?

Yes, Jason, began Marie, "it begins in Zechariah 14: 2.

(2) ‘For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

(3) Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when He fought in the day of battle…

(5) And the Lord my God shall come, and all the saints with thee."’

While Marie was reading the verse, Jason sent an instant message to Adam: Get Judah on the phone and hold him for comm…

Adam understood and nodded.

Returning his attention to his caller, Jason said, Did you hear that UN resolution this time, Jacob?

Yes, I did! I had no idea! And it describes it so accurately. The UN resolution is just the legal instrument the Lord uses to bring the entire world against Jerusalem.

Exactly! The battle they are talking about in that verse is the Battle of Armageddon. When it references ‘as in the day of battle,’ they are talking about all the battles that God fought for Israel in the Old Testament.

Thank you for your call today, Jacob. We have covered a lot of territory here. Hope I didn’t confuse you. Now we really do need a commercial break.

By IM, Adam directed Jason to line two as the on-air light went out.

Hey there, Judah. Thank you for waiting for me. Did Adam fill you in?

Yes, we know where he is, Lt. Judah Mizrahi replied. We will be sending out two choppers soon as I can find the second pilot. There is more hostility around him than he knows about. Everyone is on standby here. Captain Jarrah will provide cover while the second one will act like a Greyhound bus. Looking out his office window, he noticed his father-in-law walking toward the visitor parking lot. Hold on just a second, Jason, said Judah as he opened his window and yelled across the street, Hankwitz, can you fly a chopper?

He nodded in the affirmative.

Okay, Jason, we’ll be in the air in about five minutes. Gotta go!

Thanks, Judah. Keep me posted. Jason hung up the phone. With only a minute before he would be back on the air, he bowed his head and asked God for a hedge of angels to protect the two helicopters and their cargo. The red light came on, and Jason had to force himself back to the here and now: Adam, do we have another call?

Yes, Jason, we have Mary on line four. She wants to talk about the Euphrates River.

Okay, Mary, what is your question?

Thank you for taking my call, Jason. I saw on the news that there is some work being done on the Ataturk Dam in Turkey, north of here, and that is why the water level has been running so high. I also read somewhere, I can’t remember, that just before the Battle of Armageddon, the Euphrates River would dry up. My question is, are we getting close to the Battle of Armageddon, you know, the end of the world?

Thank you for your question, Mary. That was actually two questions, so the simple answers are yes, we are, and no, it isn’t. This is a very important question, so let me explain the situation in detail for those of you who have not made the connection. I know that if you are outside Israel, your Bibles have been confiscated, so you will not be able to read along, but, Marie, can you find the dried-up Euphrates River for us?

"Yes, Jason, it is in chapter 16 of Revelation written two thousand years ago by the Apostle John:

(12) ‘And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared."’

Thank you, Marie. It looks like you read it in the Bible, Mary.

I remember now that I did read it in the Bible. But the river isn’t drying up, it is filling up higher than it has been in a long time.

Let’s think about this Mary. If you were planning to cut off the flow of the river, wouldn’t it be wise to empty the reservoir first? I believe that is exactly what is going on now.

"Whoa! I hadn’t thought about that! But why would the river have to be dried up? Couldn’t they just use the bridge?

Yes, they could try, but I am sure the powers that be know that Israel has a very competent air force. Israel could take out that bridge in less than a New York minute, which would effectively end their attack. They are obviously planning a surprise attack and will cross the dry river bed in the night. The Battle of Armageddon will begin in the Valley of Megiddo, just after the UN Peacekeepers sneak across the river in the night.

Why are they telling us they are repairing the dam?

They have to say something. After all, people will notice the water-level changing. You did! Most people will just buy the cover story and not bother to investigate. They are banking on that. So now we know, Mary, the battle will begin shortly after the river runs dry. There is one more thing I feel compelled to tell everyone: three verses later, we find a last-minute warning before the rapture. From yesterday’s program, remember the phrase ‘coming as a thief in the night’ is a reference to the timing of the rapture. Marie, will you read verse 15?

"I would love to! That one is my personal favorite: Revelation 16:15.

(15) ‘Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.’"

Jason continued, As far as I can tell, according to this prophecy, the rapture will happen at some point after the sixth vial is poured out: after the Euphrates River has run dry. Also, even though Jesus did leave behind the shroud in the tomb, I don’t see any little piles of clothing being left behind here. Not a big point, but we are told to remain clothed in this prophetic verse.

I was taught that verse was symbolic, and our garments were the garments of righteousness, said Mary.

I was taught that as well, but there may be more to the meaning. We know that the Israelites wandered around the desert for forty years, and their clothing and shoes grew with them and never wore out. God does know how to provide supernatural clothing for keeping us modestly dressed. I tend to believe that He will make an accommodation for our physical clothing at the rapture, and in that ‘twinkling of an eye’ when we are changed from mortal to immortal, our wearing apparel just might be changed as well, preventing us from having to ‘walk naked and they see our shame.’ It’s just a thought. Keeping righteousness as your garment is, of course, a great idea under any circumstances.

Oh my goodness! I’m going to tell everyone I know!

You go for it! Now for the second part of your question, you asked if this would be the end of the world. No, there will be another one thousand years of human population on this planet, but not as we know it. What will end is the age of the church and the plan of salvation that goes with it: becoming a born-again Christian. There will be no human government after this age. The next age will be the Kingdom of God here on earth.

Thank you so much, Jason.

You are welcome. Now, go spread the word.

*****

Colonel Cohen, may I speak with you immediately? asked Judah as the colonel was entering the building.

Of course, step into the office.

Colonel, I just sent two choppers on a rescue mission to pick up refugees walking here from India.

Walking?

Yes, sir.

You have the authority to do that. What is the problem?

I just looked at the satellite feed, and there is more hostility in that area than I knew about.

Let me take a look here. Judah pointed to a spot on the map and then back to the satellite feed. You are right. That looks like more than a couple of puddle jumpers could handle. Are these refugees Israelis, Christians, Jews, what…?

Yes, sir. Samuel Abernathy is leading them.

The colonel straightened up, turned, and looked earnestly at Judah. Samuel walked here from India?

Yes, sir.

The colonel took a big breath, let it out, and said, Okay, you can have two fighter jets. Looks like you’ll need them. How much head start do the choppers have?

Looking at his watch, Judah answered, Twelve minutes, sir. They are under the radar.

Well, the fighters won’t be. Go ahead, son. Get them out of there. We’ll have hell to pay, but bring them home anyway…and I want all my planes back in one piece!

Yes, sir!

*****

I think we have time for one more caller. Pick a good one, Adam.

Jessica wants to talk about the rapture, and she is on line seven.

Go ahead, Jessica. What would you like to know?

I have been waiting for this rapture for seven years now, and I wonder if it is ever going to happen.

Yes, Jessica, it is going to happen, and very soon now. The problem with all the theories about the rapture over the last few centuries is that those theorizing had very little information to work with. Yes, this information is all in the Bible, but trying to figure out the order of events to come is dependent on knowing where we are now. Unfortunately, all the teachings prior to the last few decades did not have the necessary support prophecy fulfillments to lean on. It would have been like trying to put together a thousand-piece jigsaw puzzle with only fifty pieces. Almost all the end-time prophecies have now happened, exactly as written, so we have many more pieces to work with than we have ever had before. Everyone knows that if you want to put a puzzle together, first you find the corner pieces and then all the edges. That is your framework. Isn’t that how you do it, Jessica?

Yes, I think everyone does that.

For understanding the end-time events, the framework is found in Revelation: the seven seals, the seven trumpets, and the seven vials. The seven seals tell the long story ending at Armageddon: the corner pieces. The seven trumpets tell the short story ending at Armageddon: all the edges. And the seven vials tell the short, short story ending at Armageddon: that last handful of pieces that go in just before God declares, ‘It is finished.’ We now have, metaphorically speaking, more than nine hundred pieces of this puzzle already put together, so we can be more accurate. Let’s listen to Marie read one of my favorite rapture scriptures.

"I have it here, Jason: it’s Matthew 24:29–31,

(29) ‘Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.

(30) And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. (31) And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.’"

So, Jessica, is the world still in great tribulation? asked Jason.

Yes, it’s horrible out there! she replied.

Have the sun and moon darkened?

Not that I know about.

"I’m sure we will all notice that
