This book is dedicated to my mother, Zelma L. Reese-Stewart, who was the one person who instilled Jesus in me growing up as a child, most of all giving me life; my father, Arnell Stewart; and my incredibly amazing kids, Dajsha, Cam'Ron, Kyree, Kingston, Phat, TJ, and Ty.

This book is also dedicated to my first grandchild, A'alahyni; my siblings, Arnell Jr. and Sharita; and my cousin, Fred Reese, who is more of a brother and encouraged me in his dying days to get back on track with God.

Most of all, this book is also dedicated to my beautiful wife, Kita, who believes in me in everything that I do and makes it make sense. I love you.

Introduction

This book was inspired first and foremost by the Holy Spirit of God that nudged me one Tuesday afternoon while I was at work in the sawmill on March 16, 2021, at 5:41 p.m.

I was very consistent at one time to post positive, God-inspired quotes on my Facebook page on a daily base. However, over time, I got away from it. During that time, I would have several people that would tell me I should write a book, and I also thought the same thing at that time.

Well, today is the day. Here, it is my first book titled Delay of Game, after my first album of the same title.

I know you may wonder where the name comes from and why I chose this as a title. Now, if you have the album, then you already know, but for those of you that do not, here is the meaning behind it.

First, let us get an understanding of delay of game. Delay of game is an action in a sports game in which a player or team deliberately stalls the game, usually with the intention of using the delay to its advantage. Some sports that have a delay-of-game penalty are American football, Canadian football, ice hockey, and association football.

So now that you know what it means, how does this relate to your book, and why? I'm glad you asked.

Now with the delay of game meaning, I am specifically going to use the American football use of the word along with the penalty that it comes with it.

In American football, an offensive team is penalized five yards for delay of game if it fails to put the ball in play by either snap or free kick before the play clock expires. Now with that, I want to define my definition of the word game.

A lot of times when a man tried to holla' at a woman, he uses what we call game. Or if a person has knowledge of something, we may say that he has game meaning he has knowledge, wisdom, and/or understanding of a thing.
