About the Author
To De'ja Green, my number 2 of three
About Me
This book was written by someone who needs the message that is in it the most. Don't get me wrong, I am one who gets stuck more times than I am willing to admit, but then… I get these surges of momentum where I accomplish things that would normally take months or even years. I guess I am special, an anomaly!
At the time of this portion of the book, I am a single woman with two adult daughters. I earned a Bachelor's degree in Organizational Leadership and a Master's in Business Communication.
I am a professional Life Coach, with a particular interest in life's purpose and life transitions from a biblical and a Christian perspective. I am an ordained Minister of the Gospel, and my personal objective is to spread the gospel through my life experiences and also through my personal testimony. I speak to large and small groups publicly, and I coach individuals and groups in my private practice.
I come from a family of Ministers and entrepreneurs. My mother is an ordained Minister and Author; my Grandfather was a Pastor of a Baptist church; my brother had a career as a Running Back in the National Football League, and he is currently a Personal Trainer, with his own fitness enterprise in Salt Lake City.
My oldest daughter is the owner of two aesthetic spa businesses in Atlanta, and my youngest daughter is a manager at a nonprofit organization in Kentucky that serves at-risk youth.
Much of what I do now is informed by my experiences as a Minister, an educator, and advocate, encouraging and assisting people of all ages to set and reach goals, overcome obstacles, and understand destructive behavior patterns.
I believe coaching is a method that Jesus used, and as an ambassador of Christ, I have an obligation to use my professional coaching skills to share in His mission to save and to empower others.
Bits and pieces
Currently, I am an Adjunct Professor in Communications in Atlanta, Georgia, Executive Director of Bridging the Gap Learning Academy, Inc., a nonprofit summer and virtual learning organization for children and youth in Louisville, Kentucky. I am an ordained Minister serving the kingdom of God at Berean Christian Church in Stockbridge, Georgia; I am finishing a chaplaincy course, and working towards a Doctorate degree, finally, this is my first book—that's the short version.
Foreword
You loved me before seeing me;
You love me in all my mistakes;
You will love me for what I am
—Luffina Lourduraj
It has been said, time and time again, that there is no love like a mother's love, and it's true. They love you when you are up, when you are down, when you are moving—taking life by storm—and even when you are stuck.
I can imagine my mother encouraging me and loving me when I was stuck taking my first steps, no differently than she did when I was stuck on homework, stuck on boys, and stuck in just trying to figure out life.
Even at twenty-eight years old, I realize that she knows exactly what to say to
