Quotes for Wisdom and Success

About this ebook
In 2019, the Bahamas experienced its worst storm of all time, Hurricane Dorian. In its wake were destruction, homelessness, and joblessness. Many were asking: how will we rebuild? How will we survive?
I have found that most of us are holding on to faith and hope expressed in short yet powerful quotes. As our Prime Minister, Dr. Hubert Minnis, held his first press briefing, he closed by quoting from the book of Joshua: “Be strong and of good courage…”
Others have quoted the following:
“This too shall pass.”
“We’ve been this way before.”
“There is triumph in tragedy.”
“There is opportunity in adversity.”
As we will all face some storms or trials from time to time, it is good to have some positive quotes to help us along. I trust that this book will provide the quote(s) to motivate and encourage you on your journey to success.

Quotes for Wisdom and Success - Gary Watkins
Introduction
Over the years, I have come to realize that quotations can be very uplifting and encouraging. The quotes of King Solomon immediately come to mind.
Also, quotes given by prominent individuals in history such as Sir Winston Churchill, Kites rise highest against the wind, not with it,
and Abraham Lincoln, Say not what my country can do for me, but what I can do for my country.
In more recent times, President Obama inspired a nation—and yes, the world—with the words, Yes, we can.
I believe you will agree with me that short powerful quotes inspire individuals to greatness. Many students, employees, athletes, and even soldiers who may have otherwise given up were moved to stick with the tasks because of motivational quotes.
Personally, I have developed a thirst for reading because of a quote I once heard from leading insurance consultant, Gary Kindle: There is no difference between the person who cannot read and the person who can read but does not read.
Over the past few months, many quotes (wise sayings) were deposited in my spirit. I think it is incumbent upon me to share these ideas with as many persons as I can.
I trust that as you read this book, you, too, will be inspired and encouraged and that the end result would be your making positive life-changing decisions.
Enjoy with God’s blessings.
Great leaders seldom recognize their own greatness. It is the advancement of others that consume their attention.
And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses’ hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist (knew) not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him
(Exod. 34:29).
One of the worst disservices you can do yourself or mankind is to acquire wealth for the wrong purpose.
And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living
(Luke 15:13).
It’s not hard to make decisions when you know what your values are.
—Roy Disney
"But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he
