INTRODUCTION

The reason for this book of flash cards is to compliment (my book) Who is Jesus Christ? Second Edition, and to aid in the preparation, the study, and the teaching of the Holy Bible concerning the Lord Jesus Christ from Genesis to Revelation.

Who is Jesus Christ is 628 pages of scripture data, encased in 30 chapters. The total basis of thought is centered around Christ Jesus statement to the Jews, Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. (John 5:39) So the question is,does the Old Testament reflect him, and does that vibrate in the New Testament? I believe it does based upon what Paul preached to the Jews during one of his missionary journey’s:

And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few. (Acts 17:10-12)

The people who believed Paul had only the Old Testament scriptures to verify his preaching of the Lord Jesus Christ; and with that in mind we should follow their example in verifying that the Old Testament do indeed support Paul’s teachings. One pure example is listed in 1 Corinthins 10:1-11, where Paul outlines the period when Christ was in the desert for forty years with Moses and the children of Israel. Another time is when Abraham became a friend of Christ – Genesis 15:1-21; and his belief in Him was counted as righteousness {Romans 4:1-25}.

Therefore, these flash-cards are to help the navigation through the book in order to understand how certain thought patterns were derived. The cards do somewhat follow the book chapters, but not necessarily the chapter pages. The main question of Who is Jesus Christ? is satisfied when it answers the trueism of Christ throughout the entire Holy Bible. The goal is not that you agree with what is in the book, but that you agree with what is written in the scriptures. Amen

THE BEGINNING

John 1:1-5

(1) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

[-] His earthly name is Jesus Christ.

(Luke 1:26-35 / John 17:1-3)

[-] His universal name is The Word of God.

(Revelation 19:11-13)

(2) The same was in the beginning with God.

[-] He was with God before the creation of the

world. (John 17:5/24)

[-] He is the light of the world. (Genesis 1:1-5;

Matthew 17:1-5; John 8:12; Acts 9:1-5/22:4-21

/ 26:13-18; Revelation 21:10-23)

(3) All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Fathers specification [God said let there be:

(4) In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

[-] He formed man from the dust of the

ground, and blew into his nostrils the breath

of life [light], and man became a living soul

[called a spirit, or ghost or, apparition].

[-] He made woman from the rib of the man.

(5) And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

[-] but to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. (1 Corinthians 8:6)

There has always been a question on the deity of Jesus Christ and his relationship with the Father. The history of that relationship is revealed by the scriptures.

[1] And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

(Matthew 3:17)

[2] While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. (Matthew 17:5)

[3] Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again. The people that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him. (John 28-29)

[4] And now, OFather, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. (John 17:5)

[5] Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. (John 17:24)

[6] For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

[7] What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? (John 6:62)

[8] And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world. (John 8:23)

[9] I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

CREATION

Genesis 1:1-5

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.

And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

[-] God created the heaven and the earth in

total darkness. (Psalm 139:7-12)

[-] The earth is a ball of water spinning in

darkness; for the sun, moon, and stars are

created on the fourth day.

[-] God operates in the cloak of darkness.

(Exodus 20:21; 2 Samuel 22:10;

Matthew 27:45; Job 22:13-14)

[-] The Holy Ghost is the living water of life.

(John 7:37-39)

3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

[-] Christ came from the Father, and they are one.

4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

[-] This is not a 24-hour day because there is no Sun for the earth to rotate around. However, there is a set day given by God, For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. (Psalms 90:4; 2 Peter 3:8)

Before the heaven and the earth were created there were three deity that lived in the darkness of outer space. These three are one, and are named the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost. (1 John 5:7)
