About this ebook

The stories you are about to read are fictional and made-up character names. Mostly written in the era of 2009, the time my whole life was ripped apart, backlash of an ugly 2006 divorce, causing a multitude of back taxes. This is when I learned the meaning of California being a “no contest” state. To my “X”, I wish you nothing more than happiness and success. The struggle is real as long as you forgive and move on. At a time when the world is full of so much hatred and discontent, I wanted to try and create some kind of positive change. Everyone deserves a second chance, and we should all live in peace and tranquility! I’ve always thought with the mind frame of, “If you’re at the bottom, you’ve got no place but to go up.” Remember, every time you think you have life figured out, it will punch you in the face for figuring. “Keep your hands up and protect yourself at all times!”

    Acknowledgments

First and foremost, I thank my mother and father, whom both rest in heaven. Mrs. Geneva P. Mays and Mr. Alvin Reed Sr., thank you for giving me life.

Second, one of the strongest black educators in the history of Oklahoma in my opinion, Ms. Mary P. Walker, whom I have the pleasure to call Little Auntie!

Third, one of the baddest band directors in the land, Mr. Elmer Lee Davis, the greatest mentor any person can have. A very special thank you, Mr. D. You taught me to be a man and to believe anything in life is attainable if you set your mind to it.

Last but not least, my beautiful wife Mrs. Tonya M. Reed. August 31, 2018 as I laid lifelessly on the floor in our bedroom, you summoned medical aide. I am alive today because of you. I say thank you and I love you.

    Part 1

    Lord, I Thank You

    Part II

Lord Jesus, help me to face an uphill battle and carry on another day.

I was covered and bound in sin, I knew it was your blood that got me on my way!

I could bear no more and my days became dark.

Lord, I thank you for giving me the same vision you gave Noah, as he built the ark!

When my burdens were heavy, I carried them to the altar, my strength exactly the right amount.

When I didn’t have a dime, several times you have blessed my bank account!

For the times Daddy didn’t have time to play catch, and when I felt Momma didn’t want to be bothered with me.

I fell gravely behind in all my classes, the other kids snickered and shouted stupid; teachers didn’t care, but it was you, Oh Lord, that told Grandma, maybe I needed glasses to see!

Lord, I thank you, commanding me not to pull that trigger, the semiautomatic was fully loaded, the barrel forcefully jammed into my mouth.

Lord, I thank you, cleansing me of all iniquities, freeing me like a baby bird learning to fly south!

Lord, I thank you, allowing the ability to walk with my head up, back straight, and my chest out.

Lord, I thank you, for placing many obstacles in my life, as I continued to maneuver around them relinquishing any further doubt!

Lord, I thank you, several nights of confusion, strength barely enough to cry and quiver.

Lord, I thank you, when all the utilities were shut off in the coldest winter months; you provided warmth when my teenage daughter and I began to scream and shiver!

Lord, I thank you, for the little divine light you have given me to shine.

Lord, I thank you, for watching over my youngest daughter reassuring me your word, not the doctors, She’ll be fine!

Lord, I thank you, possessing me with the Holy Ghost’s power of tongues to pray for and bless others.

Lord, I thank you, converting me into a role model for all young and old brothers!

There is victory in the Holy Name of Jesus; I proudly lift my hands today, no matter where I will go.

It’s because of you, Lord, for the true and mighty Bible continues to tell me so!

From Prison to Celebrity Montwon Greenwood

Like Petey Pablo in Diary of a Sinner, my momma told me something, too. She said, They will never know how dumb you are until you open your mouth.

I should’ve listened, but the only thing I was thinking ’bout was how much alcohol I could put in my mouth!

Maybe if I had of paid more attention in Sunday school, I wouldn’t have done wrong.

Sixteen-month SHU term (Segregated Housing Unit) to become army strong!

I should’ve learned from Youth Authority that crime never pays.

Lord, please change me from my wicked ways so that I may increase my days.

From high fives to drive-bys, a new streetwalker for Christ; in my heart, I keep a pre-praise!

It’s funny I couldn’t listen to my momma, but I let another inmate tell me what to do.

Taking orders from somebody that’s younger, dumber, and hasn’t been through half of what I’ve been through!

Now you know, it’s a crying shame when inmates in California request an out-of-state transfer with a phone call.

I got two strikes against me, and you know what happens on number three in the game of baseball!

Mr. Kanye West, it is amazing to see how the world has fallen apart.

Disrespecting one another; in fact, causing burdens for retired grandparents to bear; all the while, with the absence of God’s Love in their heart!

I have watched people walk right past each other and not even think to speak.

When that very same person blows up and becomes rich and famous; all of sudden, he’s the guy they used to work with once his picture is featured on the cover of Newsweek!

From Prison to Celebrity, Montwon Greenwood; just like Mike Jones’s Back Then, now all my haters tell me I look good!

    Seclusion

    Buster Tangelo Grizwald

    Seclusion: Buster Tangelo Grizwald

One night of passion turned into a lifetime of forbidden love.

    What was I thinking of?

Taking something that didn’t belong to me.

I blame my dad. They say the only thing that repeats itself is history!

Named by one of my great cousins, Buster Tangelo Grizwald, seeking a life of seclusion.

She loves me, she loves me not; my world
